[Q] Data sharing - Asus Padfone X and S

I am thinking about buying the ASUS PadFone s with docking pad. The specs say data sharing. Do you have to set the phone to tethering or does it look to the network an the same device? I don't want to purchase a separate data plan.

It identifies as "Asus ASUS_T00N" both in phone mode and tablet mode.

gsm for usb

Wondering if anyone has seen this or knows if it exists
now adays, a apple ibook 12 inch is my primary laptop
and ofcourse, the xda 1 cannot connect to a laptop via blue tooth or wifi as a wireless modem
the ibook, lacks any PCMCIA slots for expansion cards, making a gsm pcmcia card out of the question for wireless access over t-mobile
anyone know if theres a gsm usb (or firewire for that matter) adapter that can accept a sim card and act as the usual pcmcia air cards ?
apples also lack serial, parrallel (more or less anything legacy they dont have), so those are out of the question also
its getting to the point where im paying $80 a month for cell phone service ($29.95 for 300 minutes, $20 for tmobile to tmobile , $20 for unlimited data access) , not including another $20 to tmobile for a hotspot account
if i can get a gsm usb adapter, id have my friend (works for tmobile) move my gsm account to a new card, and use that with the laptop, letting me absolve myself from a hotspot acct
any ideas ?
-Mario
it all comes down to supply and demand
if the demand have been great enough to give market to a such device
somebody have payed the RD cost to develop such a device
i would google the hell out of logic search pattarns to see if it give a result
though i doubt that there is such a device myself

[Q] any wifi tablet with sim card slot?

I am planning to buy new android table - this will be my first tablet and I am new in market and don't know many things. I have few dumb questions and need expert advise.
- I don't need to use 3G/4G network but occasionally when I travel outside the county I would like to use sim card with data plan. Do I need to buy 3g/4g expensive version of tablet? or is there any tweak to enable it and use it?
- If I buy 3g/4g tablet, do I have to buy plan from provider or can I just use wifi and use sim card when needed?
- Would gps/navigation work without internet if I use wifi only tablet?
Your answers will give me some start point.
Thanks for looking into it.

[Q] About tethering between phones - android and non-smartphone

I have a question for everybody! Is it possible to connect to the internet with a smartphone (in my case LG P500) via bluetooth using an ordinary phone ( Sony Ericsson Elm). I'm wondering if it's possible to use an android phone instead of a computer. I know it's much easier to swap the sim cards between those two phones, but I don't actually have a good network coverage in my countryside and i use to put the SE Elm somewhere outside of the house near by the window and use bluetooth to connect with my laptop from inside of the house Thanks! Cheers!

[Q] Would it be possible to...

While cloning an ESN is illegal, changing it isn't necessarily. However I'm not sure the Rez would be happy on 3g without a SIM. There is a way to do this but I'm not sure what. I am wondering, however, why in the world would you use a Rezound on a data only connection...if you have a tablet?
Update:
I found a solution just got a tablet activated and trimmed the micro sim into a nano sim with razor blade put it in my phone now I have a data only phone for my kid for 10.00 a month.

Converting Data to Wifi signal without rooting or Hotspot feature

Hi All,
I am looking to convert my unlimited data (Samsung Galaxy S3) to a wifi signal but have some hurdles... 1) No hotspot feature included on cell, 2) Hotspot apps trigger an "additional fee" message from carrier and 3) don't want to brick cell by trying to root. We are currently using Easytether which is working great but are limited by the USB cable.
Is it possible to connect a cell directly to a wireless router (via USB cable) or through a desktop? Could a dongle or external adapter help us? Could we somehow adjust the built-in wireless card to connect to the Easytether adapter in the Network Center?
I realize this is probably apples to oranges but am hoping someone has a work around. I have done my homework as a noob but my head is pounding with this one. Thank you everyone in advance. ps...I do have someone who can follow your instructions
