help. someone rooted or did something to phone i just bought - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I just bought a SM-G900T here in iowa where I live
this is an "I-Wireless" phone which must have something to do with T-Mobile as I see some T-Mobile stuff in there like the wifi handoff
anyhow someone either tried to root it or install a rom or something
when I hold vol-down + power + home button I get to the "ODIN MODE" screen and here is what it shows:
Product Name: SM-G900T
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Know Warranty Void: 0x1 (2)
qualcomm secure boot: enable (csb)
AP SWREV: S1, T1, R1, A1 and P1
UDC START
in settings
Galaxy S5
SM-G900T
Android 4.4.2
G900TUBU1ANCH
kerner version = 3.4.0-964333 ([email protected] #1)
build number = NCE-G900T-4.4.2-IWI-061014-1.0.3
MDF v1.0 Release 2
VPN v1.4 Release 1
and of course Device Status = Custom
where should I go from here?
should I just try and flash a tmboile android 5.1.1 official rom over this or will there be a problem since it says custom?
thanks

bump

Odin the latest firmware and be done with it. PO definitely flashed it and tripped the knox warranty.

There's not really any problem with those saying custom or having the knox flag tripped. Seeing as you bought it secondhand it won't have any sort of warranty anyway. Just do as Omgbossis21 suggested and flash the latest firmware (OF6) and be done. That won't reset the knox flag but like I said, it doesn't really matter. Seeing as it's already tripped, why not just flash Muniz_ri's rooted stock rom? If you do that you can also use the batch debloat tool he created and you'll have a fast, rooted, bloat-free phone running 5.1.1.
From your current android version, You'd just have to Towelroot, install SuperSU & FlashFire, then flash the stock rooted rom in the dev section. It's that easy.

[Q] Sending S4 For Warranty, VRUEMJ7 And Flash Counter Question!

Hey guys. I was trying to go back to stock everything so I could send my phone back to Verizon for warranty purposes. So I pushed the MDK stock file I found on XDA and then the device alerted me that there was an update from Verizon, the VRUEMJ7 4.3 one. So I let that go through as well. I figured I was in the clear.
However, I later discovered after reading some more that these new Samsungs have a binary flash counter where it tells you how many times someone has tripped the firmware. I wanted to use the TriangleAway file to remove it all but since it requires root and root is not available for the MJ7 at the moment, I have no idea how to clear it.
Is there a way to see how many times I have tripped the counter? Currently my Odin Download Mode reads exactly as following:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-1545
CURRENT BINARY Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
eMMC Burst Mode: enabled
Click to collapse
And in the "About" section in settings, it does say Samsung Official there as well. But if they are actively looking at the trip counter, I don't know if my warranty will go through or not. Does anybody have any advice on the issue? Any way to know the the actual number of trips without rooting? All suggestions and tips are more than welcome! Thanks for taking the time, appreciate it!

Understood. It just seemed that way to me.

What you see is as stock as it gets.

Oh really? So I am just being mega paranoid then! Awesome blossom! Thanks so much!
any issues with verizon? i plan on sending my back when the replacement comes in modany. but im going to use the flash counter.

[Q] Am I clean?

I rooted my ME7 Verizon S4 sch-i545 back when I first purchased it. Since then I have had issues with my home button sticking. I reflashed to a stock rom and I wanted to triple verify before returning it to Verizon.
I ran Root Checker and it says I'm no longer rooted.
I booted into download mode and it says
"ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I545
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30"
From my beginner understanding the big thing to worry about is Knox counter being at 0x0 not 0x1. For some reason whatever root method i used didnt move my counter up. i also never did much with it. I gained root access just to use system tweaks like Titanium Backup to uninstall bloatware.
So am I safe to return to Verizon or is there other stuff to verify?

Looks clean.
But you should ask this on the Verizon S4 forums. This is the international version S4 forums.
you shoudl ask in the Verizon section just in case there is some goofy extra thing Verizon put in there that people in the Verizon forums would know about that maybe we wouldn't. (Probably not though)

4.2.2 Update Failed

I have a verizon S4 (SCH-i545), I had it rooted, saw the 4.2.2 update today and downloaded and it failed... I figured because I was rooted.
I tired to unroot today and things have gone bad. Using odin tool and following a tutorial Odin failed.
I now see:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
In the top left:
odin mode
product name: sch-i545
current bianary: samsung official
system status: official
knox kernal lock: 0x0
know warranty void: 0x0
csb-config-lsb 0x30
write protection enable
emmc burst mode enabled.
I need to just restore it with the stock firmware but apparently the one I download which was labeled "Verizon Stock 4.2.2" and not SCH-i454 must have been the wrong one.
Does anyone have a RELIABLE link for the 4.2.2 firmware? Or is there something I should be doing beyond getting a reliable file and restoring again. I just installed kies and it wont connect to the phone to do an energency firmware recovery.
Also, what is this "i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506" that is this forum title, my s4 isnt any of those as far as I know and there isnt a i545 anywhere?
:/ I wish I had found this forum first...
If you don't care about root, use the Odin VRUFNC5 file that Surge has posted HERE

SGH-I527 Question

MOVED
I have been searching since yesterday and need a little help. A friend bought a Samsung Mega from someone on Craigslist and has been a nightmare for him. It seems as if the guy was messing with things he shouldnt have been.
The phone will only boot into Download Mode, but the Stock AT&T image will need Flash. It seems as if the phone was updated to Kit Kat, and now it will not flash the stock rom (because it is 4.2). I have tried Samsung Kies, but Kies will not do Update or Recover the Firmware. The phone is recognized by my PC, but thats about the most I've gotten out of it.
In download mode I get the following:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SGH-I527
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Knox Kernel Lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
Bootloader AP SWREV: 4
Write Protection: Enable
Any help would be great. The warranty is voided due to third party screen replacement. Just need any advice. Thanks.
Not sure this post belongs in development.
Have you tried flashing 4.2 with odin, then do ota to kitkat?
Here is the link to the Odin flashable.

Rooting Samsung J5 Stock Firmware WITHOUT tripping KNOX

Hi guys,
So I've recently started a contract with the Samsung J5 phone. Although it's a really nice thing, it has a very big draw back compared to my previous iPhone 5c (yes I know, an iPhone, I hate them too bit I needed it for work... No, really!). It's memory capacity. My iPhone had a huge 16GB internal memory capacity whereas my J5 has a measly 8GB which has already filled up fast.
Why? Because I have so much bloatware on the phone that it's completely swamped the internal memory, and even though I have a 32GB external SDCard, I can't use the thing to store any of the pre-installed bloatware because it's on the protected read-only partition.
Anyway, I've been searching for a way to root my stock firmware (really not planning on changing ROMs with this one as I quite like the stock one for the moment) so that I can delete those pesky bloatware apps and free memory on my phone.
After looking into it, I started learning about how KNOX can be tripped and have it's "Root Flag" change from 0x0 to 0x1 which instantly void the manufacture warranty... Not good! I live in the UK and everything insurance revolves around the manufacture warranty!
Also, there's something about OEM Unlocking too???
My phone is as follows:
Model: SM-J500FN
Android Version: 5.1.1
KNOX Version: 2.4
Even so, here's what my questions are (Finally! XD) because after scouring the internet there is no single definitive place that does what I want.
1) How do I root my stock firmware?
2) How do I root my phone WITHOUT tripping KNOX?
Sorry for the long post, I wanted to give as much information as possible.
Bump, anyone got any ideas at all?
The root I used is chainfire autoroot. Go to autoroot.chainfire.eu and download your version phone version of root file.
Flash the file using Odin by going into download mode. Unlock oem Bootloader first.
Now start the flashing process and your stock rom shall be perfectly rooted.
Flash twrp v 3.0.0.
You now have a custom Recovery. Install Flashfire application from playstore or their website and download xposed v79. 1 (custom built by wanam xposed). No other version but v79. 1.
Now you also have xposed. Congratulations.
However my Knox tripped when I rooted my phone long ago. But who cares about Knox?
Think about it.
