Problems installing Lollipop 5.0 from recovery screen - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me. I've been following all kinds of step by step guides and I'm getting tied up in knots.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 and it's running version 4.1.2 but I want to upgrade it to Lollipop. I've been following the steps which has included learning how to root the device, which I've done using Odin. Then I downloaded the lollipop zip file which is called: cm-12-20150124-UNOFFICIAL-i9100.zip and moved it into the phone as per the instructions from this page here: androidadvices.com/update-galaxy-s2-gt-i9100g-lollipop-50-android-os-guide/#comment-287633
In recovery mode, I selected the zip file, confirmed install and got the following message:
Warning: No file_contextsThis package is for device: galaxys2.i9100.GT-I9100.GT-I9100M.GT-I9100P.GT-I9100T.SC-02C; this device is .
E:Error in /sdcard/cm-12-20150124-UNOFFICIAL-i9100.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I really don't know what to do from this point. All help gratefully appreciated.

Make sure you downloaded a ROM that is compatible to your device. Status 7 means incompatible ROM.
BTW, I recommend the official version of Lollipop, which is better than the unofficial at my opinion

You have flash this one from #1 the attachment http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/cwm-kit-kat-compatible-t2546597 and then reboot to recovery and flash your favourite lollipop/kitkat rom.
@BenjyTec You're clearly dont know what you say. error 7 on s2 needs to run the proper and compatible recovery which can run the kit kat and lollipop custom roms.

Some web pages say you also get this at incompatible ROM...
But thanks for your answer, because I'm not that experienced yet, I just want to answer questions which don't get answered by the others. Better any answer than no one . Greetings.

Need help with unrooting can´t find any guide...

Hello guys, first of all, happy new year
Im searching for a great guide to unroot my Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 P7510, but i can´t find a guide with a clear way to solve this or i find several guides but every guide is different, so i´m very confused what to do now.
I purchased my Galaxy Tab 10.1 P 7510 in the Netherlands, but i live in Germany and now i have to get it in the original State like i have purchased it. Im not sure which stock official rom i have to download, on samfirmware.com there are two Roms, one is dated with june and the other one with july: http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p7510.htm
So which one do i need? What does csc mean ? I also saw this on the xda forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167250 But he says he does not recommend it : "Pre-release TOUCHWIZ rom, not recommended!"
I rooted the tab with this method from galaxytabhacks.com : http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-root-galaxy-tab-10-1-the-easy-way/
But this method seems not to work i think : http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-unroot-your-galaxy-tab-10-1/ Many people say that they are not getting official updates andymore or cant update to touchwizz, but touchwizz was always on my tab.
Im really afraid of bricking my tablet so i need your guys help.
What i understood is that i have to install a stock rom first of all with odin or clock word mod recovery. For me personally CWM is easier, but i have no clue which Rom to install, because the roms on samfirmware.com are .rar !
And then i have to flash to original recovery with odin? How to do that?
Also many people say that they have still the superuser app after unrooting. Whats with that?
i hope you guys can help me. thanks already for reading....
Hey I unrooted as I had to send my tablet in for repairs. I flashed my nandroid backup and then used my root access to delete super user and then unrooted and used stock android recovery to reset user data etc.
Check out this link for how to unroot.
Having a nandroid aka cwm recovery backup makes it much easier.
http://www.galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-unroot-your-galaxy-tab-10-1/
I used this link that you said didn't work successfully. What seems to be the problem for you?
Sent from either my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi or Motorola Atrix 4G
Thanks. But as i said on that link is only the ota rom without touwhizz and also i cant find my backuo i was sure i made one but i cant find it.
Ah this is so sick

Wanting Updated links to root / install CM on New Tab P5110

Hey Guys,
I believe the process is similar to installing CM on P3110... i've just got a new 10.1 samsung tab 2.
Can anyone provide me the links to the Clockworkmod recovery, Gapps, and if theres an updated Samsung USB driver zip ?
Your help is most appreciated ahead of time.
Hey Guys,
I managed to get CWM running, after running CF-AUTOROOT. However when i go to install the CM10.1 it begins the install process and then i get error message : assert failed : get prop ("ro.product.device) -- P5110 error in SDCARD/CM/CM-10.1-20130417.NIGHTLY-P5110.Zip, installation aborted.
Any suggestions or step by step guides would be appreciated.
Just so you know, this is the original galaxy tab 10.1 section.. Not the tab 2
Edit: here's a link to gapps by banks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34610569
Edit2: check this site out for how to root your tab http://galaxytabhacks.com
Hope that helps

[Q] Polaroid PMID920

Hello. I have read a lot of forums and I have not found a solution that works for my problem. I was trying to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588991 this guide and made a mistake along the way. Now it will only boot into recovery mode. I have tried to do a data wipe/factory reset and it was no help at all. The tablet is a Polaroid PMID920. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Bump
I'm still looking for help with this issue. As I said I have tried to do a datawipe/factory reset and it didn't help at all.
Bump
Can someone please help me with this issue. I am still unable to fix it or get it to load at all. Only thing it will load is the recovery menu.

Still looking for help with this tablet.

ok I don't know what device it is
but you have to do the following :
1- look for android firmware for the device
2- download the correct odin software version that will be compatible with your device
3-put your device in downloading mode
4-flash the rom into your device using ODIN

Hello, thank you for replying.
I am not sure where to look for android firmware. I have searched the tablet's website and they don't have the firmware up for it, where would I look for it? I also don't know where to look for Odin software or to know if it's the correct one. I am pretty much a noob to all of this. Where would I look for Odin software? (Google?)

I don't know about your firmware but you google it. What is your manufacture ?
here you can look for the compatible odin version for your device (mostly support Samsung devices)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...08-2013-odin-3-09-odin-1-85-versions-t2189539
here you can download the version (both are good)

Hey so I'm thinking about biting the bullet to finally trying to root & update this pmid920 to google play. But I guess I'm a little worried as this fellow messed his up & couldn't put stock fw back on it. http://www.FreakTab.com/showthread.php?t=11960 or if I just wanted to keep it simple should I just root & sideload apps to it? Or what do u think this fellow did wrong to totally mess it up? I just wanna keep it simple to let kids have some games on it & me to bs on it n such. Thanks in advance Ron.

i9100g root/recovery/flashing

Hello all. I'll get myself next week a sgs2 i9100g version so I'd like to ask few questions.
At the moment I'm using HTC Desire S and I rooted it, flashed recovery and custom roms by myself. And I'm total noob to samsung phones.
For my HTC, all I had to do is custom recovery via PB99 file from fastboot, and afterwards I was able to flash roms.
But, I find it kinda harder, especially for i9100g version so I'd like to ask few questions.
I found guides for i9100 but I heard i9100g is different.
What do I exactly have to do? Can anyone provide me any link with guide or step by step tutorial?
The s2 is running 2.3.6 official android.
From what I have understood, I have to: Install drivers and Odin, from Odin flash CWM recovery and then I will be able to flash custom roms?
Is that all correct? If not, can you tell me what to do?
Thanks in advance!!

What you said is correct yes, however just make sure that the recovery is compatible with the i9100g and is not for the i9100 as they both have different hardware and it may brick your phone. Good luck

Can't boot into Android
Hey there!
Hope you are able to help with this little trouble: I have successfully installed the ROM following all steps, but when I finished it and the phone booted up correctly, I saw the available OTA for downloading. Dumb me, I tried to install it (before I saw the warning to not to install it) and since it was taking forever, I rebooted the phone explicitly.
Then all it does is taking me to the Carliv menu and there is no way of getting to boot the system. I'm afraid something in the boot section was corrupted with me trying to install the OTA. I tryied going all way down to the installation process (wipe data, wipe dalvik cache, and installing the ROM again) but nothing.
Any ideas for this idiot? Thanks in advance!
Edit: When I was about to fall into despair, I remembered there was a way to restore everything from stock. So I followed from official Wiko website all the instructions (as superdragonpt posted), and I managed to get my bootloader back on track. Tomorrow I'll try again installing the custom ROM, now without even touching the software updates.

[RECOVERY] [ROM] Wiko DarkMoon (MT6582) [MULTILANG]
Hello,
I just installed this ROM and it seems to running just fine! Such a great improvement for my Wiko!
I've been reading through the thread and it seems I should be able to find "Performance" options and be able to open Gravity, but I have no performance options and gravity keeps giving error "GravityBox system framework not responding. Exiting". Some suggested reinstalling gravitybox and installing another cpu app, but I would like to know if that is advisable.
*Is it possible ohter applications might be missing?
Thanks!!
Error when I try to install the rom
Hi,
Everytime I try to install the rom, the recovery said there's an error. This is a little bit weird because I followed all the steps. This is not the first time I have this problem, whenever I want to install this rom (because I tried to install your LeWa OS rom, and it works successfully). I tried to download the rom a second time, but it's the same. I saw that nobody get the same error than me. If you want to know what it says:
- - Installing: /sdcard/WIKO_DarkMoon_JB_4.2.2_Stable_v1.0.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E: Can't open /sdcard/WIKO_DarkMoon_JB_4.2.2_Stable_v1.0.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Click to collapse
And before this, I must to push on "Yes - Install untrusted zip" and it says "E: signature verification failed"
For information, I have the kernel you did.
I hope you can help me, and thanks !

Hi Guys
I need you help please.
I tried to do somthing with my Wiko Darkmoon, downloaded here from this forum the Stock Darkmoon ROM and the KIT KAT MOD (found in a thread). Started to see if SP Flash could read some information from the phone (don't know how - Ignored the warning : if you don't know what to do than do nothing) and that was the moment when trouble begun.
The PC I was using was the one I have in my office. Don't know what happened PC interrupted what he was doing.
Now PC doesn't see my device anymore (says unknown USB device) and phone doesn't switch on any more.
What can I do to fix it? Did I ruin my phone?????
