Advice: Buying a new Galaxy S6 Edge - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Hi Guys,
I come from a 32GB/3GB RAM, D855 LG G3 in Gold + 64GB Extreme Pro SD. I had my LG G3 since July 2014. My LG G3 toasted last week beyond repair, so Amazon refunded me $700 that was the price i paid for it. I'm currently in the search for a new smartphone as, i am currently cellphone-less. Thinking about the options available on market, even if i'm in an emergency and need to get hold of a new phone asap... i think i can hold on until August 13th to be sure what Samsung is going to come out with the Galaxy S6 Edge + and Note 5.
Currently i'm in search of a new 64GB or 128GB storage phone.
My contenders are:
Galaxy S6 Edge 64GB or 128GB (if i can stretch the money) Emerald Green --- Second option: Platinum Gold.
Galaxy S6 Edge + 64GB.
Galaxy Note 5 64GB .
Motorola X Pure Edition 64GB + Customs backs of the Moto Maker.
I'm not interested in the LG G4, as i just come from a G3 and want something with a more premium build and the G4 is not enough for me. Between these options what would you think it's best?? Per the news it seems the Note 5 would be lacking, - nothing new. The Edge + has my attention, but at least i would need to go 64GB or more if i grab any internal storage phone. Motorola X Pure Edition seems like the most sensible choice, but i like the design more of a Gold or Green Galaxy Edge. I'm willing to go up to $900 for my new cell phone as i just have been refunded $700 for my dead G3. More than $900 would be crazy, still $900 is quite steep.
What others phone should i consider if i'm looking for top specs and new devices?
I prefer devices with SD cards, but it is not a deal breaker. I never had a device with internal storage only. answer is easy enough : " read slowly smartphones names, and make the choice according to your own emotions ( what sounds fitting right with you ) "
Example : " S6 Edge " = " S Sex eGee " = " is sex and G " = " Essex and G " = " S X and G " = " is X and G " and so on....
Example 2 " iPhone 3gs " = " fan of I and fridges " = " i FOne 3gs " = " i F1 fridges " etc etc.....
there is nothing really wrong in smartphones you mentioned, it's all about making the impulse purchase.
i have all iPhone 3gs, LG G3 D855, and S6 Edge, what i miss the most is iOS 3 or 4.

Because every Motorola phone I have ever owned has hard bricked do to no fault of my own, I would advise against the new Moto x. The s6 edge plus is an overpriced s6 edge with an inferior processor if all leaks are correct. You cannot go wrong with the s6 edge. Sexiest phone on the market. But the note 5 sounds like the only phablet I would ever dream of. If productivity is your purpose go with that. Otherwise choose what I chose, the galaxy s6 edge.

How is inferior the processor of the edge + in comparison of the s6 edge? I thought one was an exynos 7420 and the one on the edge + was to be believed an exynos 7422. I'm just holding to see if any of the newer devices could sport an SD card even if rumors have said that the Note 5 and edge+ could come sans SD.

I have had my Galaxy S6 Edge 64gb in Galaxy Black for a few months now.
I keep a (small by audiophile standards) music library in storage, and several audiobooks.
A multitude of games, and other misc apps.
and my memory is still sufficient.
As long as you aren't the hoarder type, internal memory isin't a huge issue
Go well sir, and buy with your brain.
weigh up the features, and what you want, then calculate the costs.
S6 edge is by far one of the best built phones available. Looks stand out and premium. Camera fantastic.
However battery life is awful and ovepriced.
Screen not big enough.

I heard that the s6 edge plus has the snapdragon 808 while the note 5 will either have the exynos 7422 or 7420. They will both lack an sd card.. As for Moto, it may just be bad luck for me but due to my experiences. I would not recommend that
I went in and bought in early August the Green S6 Edge 64GB. Got the Wireless charging pad in black + 2 Spigen Neo Hybrid cases (Crystal Clear + Neo Hybrid in Gunmetal) + Caseology Case + Amfilm screen protectors + PS4 Magma Red controller (Yes to play games). Hehe i went all in!!!! I've been loving it, sometimes i thought if i held for the Note 5 but..... 64GB Note 5 are still around $900. I am very glad i went with the 64GB version as i already filled it half. I love my purchase and my Emerald Green S6 Edge, it was the color i wanted! and even looks more pretty than the Gold imho.
Hi! Do you have any physical preferences such as screen size, curved screen or not, and are you interested in flashing custom ROMS, kernels, mods ,etc. ?

Hi! as some of you might know i had problems with my past samsung galaxy note i717, so i returned it. was a bad experience but i'm in loved with the cellphone and i don't wanna make mistakes twice. I'm trying to buy a new one through ebay, and i want it closer to new. so i found the "seller refurbished" and i found as "new" a "floor demo model" and another one listed as new but without it plastics but under samsung warranty. What would u guys recommend? and what does "floor-demo model" means? would you recommend me buying the i717 or the note II? (i read is the same thing... just for the screen) thanks

Click to collapse "Refurbished" is one that was returned, checked over, corrected, and sent back out. Usually has a warrenty. "New Floor Demo" was probably a device on display at a retail outlet. While it can be classified as "new" since no one ever bought it, it probably has the most use. Everyone and their mother touched it. "New w/o plastic + warrenty" was probably bought, opened, tested, and put back in the box. I would only worry that the warrenty wouldn't transfer if it has already been registered. Now to the Note I v. Note II: they are definetly not the same device. Pretty much every factor and spec is different. Dual-core S3 v. Quad-core exynos, 1gb ram v. 2gb ram, 1280x800 v. 1280x720, 5.3" v. 5.5", Android 4.0.4 v. Android 4.1... they list goes on. If it were me, I wouod buy the Note II if the funds were available. It really is quite pricey. Subsidized would be a different story. I would read reviews on both. Make the decision. One is older but still more than capable. Hello. I have the ability to pick three phones : samsung note 3,lg g4 and a galaxy s5. I want you to help me pick the best one . S5 and lg g4 cost the same price but note 3 is cheaper 30 dollars. What phone is the best in terms of functionality,display,multitasking and performance. Click to collapse Good question about the pre order stuff we never seem to get the good stuff like the US does lol A 256gb micro sd would be sweet. For me it wont matter i guess though since even If I get one (which im not 100% on just yet) I wont waste my money on a Canadian version with the snapdragon in it since the BL will be locked on it. This isnt exactly Canadian specific but worth mentioning. Honestly if you want root,twrp etc just buy a exynos version and bypass the snapdragon BS version. Ive bought a few exynos samsungs locally here in Toronto in the past and even got my Note FE off Ebay so easy enough to buy. They end up costing the same or less as the snapdragons anyway. My S8 plus dual sim cost less than the snapdragon version lol. You may miss a few features like wifi calling or VOlte but small sacrifice for an unlocked bootloader really Just my .02 sent from my Note FE, S8 plus, or S6

Can we flash via odin or SmartConnect or whatever utility that samsung uses to factory restore to stock firmware, so it is not bloated with carrier app(s)? I really want to get the dual SIM Card version (also is it dual active / dual standby / dual -LTE) - what I am hoping is, I have personal A/C with ROGERS with limited data here in Canada, but my business work corp A/C is unlimited data ; so hence the reason for dual SIM Card. Doesn't hurt but also made mention of how the US trade-in list for that discount includes the S5 but not the Note 4 when the Note 4 came our 6 months after the S5. Also that Note 4 owners who skipped the Note 5 for the Note 7 have no alternative and should be allowed to trade-in a Note 4 as well. Fingers crossed but I won't hold me breath. We get screwed up here in Canada all the time. After several emails to Sammy, I cancelled my pre-order and made it very clear that my reason was due to the lack of communication etc from Sammy Canada. I even brought up the fact that they seemed to have learned nothing from the Note 7 fiasco last year!
I am getting the Blue one from Bell. Paying the $1350 man I wish our dollar was stronger. Also login to Samsung's promotion website and pre register the micro SD card and wireless charger. Anyone else buying it out right?

Razer phone, S9+, Pixel 2XL
I’m on Att. I just got the Razer phone yesterday. I play Star Wars Galaxy of heroes and DC Legends. My iPhone plays them great. I had last year the Note 8 which did not play them well. The Razer phone seems to play them pretty well. But I’m not liking the screen. It has in my opinion terrible viewing angle and blacks. Even if you just slightly turn the screen. Tilt it. The way I use my phone this screen bothers me. My iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 8 Plus have much better screens. I can’t even tell any difference in 120 hz screen or 60 hz. The UI is already smooth in 60hz. And the 120 hz made no difference in the two games. I tried the S9 Plus today. It played the games good with Galaxy of heroes being like not as good. Less optimized or something. Great screen of course. No viewing angle issues but I don’t like how narrow Galaxy phones are now. I think the pixel 2 xl may have more viewable area then the S9 Plus. The S9 Plus has current chips. Pixel 2 Xl is 6”. OLED. And no bloat. So I think it will run my two games well. It gets droid updates ASAP. I’m not sure which phone to get. Or keep the Razer which I don’t think I will but not sure. The Pixel 2 XL are all cdma and gsm. But a Best Buy one says it’s for Verizon. I can get it and just put my att sim in it or is it locked to Verizon and they have to unlock it? I read an article that says pixel 2 are all the same. Except the Verizon will download and install Verizon apps that can be uninstalled. But if you don’t turn it on with the Verizon sim would it still? I would just put my att sim in it and turn it on for the first time. I’d get the S9 Plus unlocked but Best Buy don’t have any and have to order from Samsung maybe. Thank you.
Pixel 2 XL Verizon variant. Useless for rooting or image flashing. Do not buy from stores. Verizon variant can not be rooted or reimaged; oem unlocked. Order from Google store. Only the pixel 2 XL has this issue. I do not have bloatware. On att. If you don't care the variant is carrier unlocked already. I have the useless Verizon variant. Not happy.
Hi. Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it. I went to Best Buy last night and got the Pixel 2 XL. It was the Verizon one. Came with Verizon SIM card in it already. I put my att sim in then powered on first time. I won’t rootborvsnything do I think I’m ok with this part it being Verizon. But the SIM card is the only way to tell it’s verizon since there’s no Verizon logo or app or anything. I love the phone so far. Plays my two games pretty good. Galaxy of heroes is not smooth in the ui though. But the gameplay is smoother. Hmm. Love the screen and the way the phone looks. It’s a great design. I like the google assistant. I like her voice. Who is it? She needs a name though. Lol. That’s so awesome you can talk to it by typing and tapping like random fun and all sorts of stuff. Tell jokes etc. Interesting. Wish there was a dark mode. Ugh.
