Hi, I didn't want to hijack the skydragon rom thread, so I hope it's ok to post this question here. I couldn't find a specfic skydragon q&a thread, I did try searching. I've been running skydragon 5.0 beta, 4.2 kernel with xposed for about a week and it's been running great. I recently saw the release of xposed v69 that is supposed to work with lg smart cover and weather animations. I've gotten smart cover and the weather apps to run by reinstalling the individual apks and updating to the newest xposed; but, I realized that the weather animations are not updating to the corresponding weather, (they always show a thunderstorm, which happened to be the appropriate weather animation when I installed everything). The clock face weather shows sunny or clear depending if it's day or night, the lockscreen is always on a thunderstorm. I've tried a few installs with wipes, have gps on high, data on auto sync, the lg weather, weather service and smartcover apk installed and weather set to update every hour. Has anyone gotten the weather animations to change/ update correctly? Smart cover is working fine for what it's worth. Just wondering if anyone has figured out the magic combo to get it running fully, I have a feeling that it is something silly that I am overlooking, but I am stumped. Thanks in advance for any help.
I'm having the same issue. Glad it's just not me haha. Hopefully, someone will have a fix for it soon.
I initially have the exact same symptoms. I installed xposed v69, recreated the folders and dropped the .apk files into each of the corresponding folders, fixed permissions and reboot into recovery and cleared both davlik and cache following these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62181265&postcount=4605
Based on this suggestion http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62183060&postcount=4609, I dirty flashed SD without without xposed. Reflashed Xposed installer and framework v69. I verified that LGCover, LGWeather and LGWeatherService is present. The LG Weather widget works fine but my lock screen has nothing now! It has been beautiful (sunny and clear) the pass few days so that could be why. However I do have G3 Tweaksbox and I enabled All weather effects and still nothing. I can't figure it out.

Update: It is raining and my lock screen is filled with rain drops! So the above steps works.
What doesn't seem to be working is G3 Tweaksbox:enabled All weather effects

I have been having the exact same issue. It appears that on the verizon version they have not included all the weather effects. Maybe there is someway we can get them from a g3 from another carrier.

I know this might not be the right area to post but i cant post in the android development because i dont have enough posts but i need to figure this out.
I tried das bamf last night and it boots fine but it looks like its missing the notification screen power control widget and when it boots up it looks stock and doesn't look like it comes with really any extras same with the das bamf remix.
I fallowed the guide to root last night and it worked but im not sure if something went wrong and i dont know it. is there a way to check if its rooted properly and is this normal for the roms or does it sound weird?
If you weren't rooted you wouldn't be able to install the rom.
I'm going to go ahead and guess you didn't wipe anything when installing a new rom. Read a bit more before you start messing with your phone more and end up having to take it back to verizon.
And a thread like this does not go in Android Development, read the rules too why you are at it.
i realize i was rooted, just not sure if you could be partially rooted or not and if that would mess up a rom, and i wiped everything. i first tried the bamf remix and wiped the cache and the dalvik cache. i then flashed the regular bamf and wiped everything including the data. both times they look stock with a couple of extra apps and nothing else really listed that included in the rom.
also where are these rules? all i see is the description next to the threads.
You didn't wipe data when you flashed BAMF remix, there is the problem right there.
The regular BAMF isn't supposed to be anything radically different from the stock look. What exactly were you expecting to be different after you flashed it?
Rules - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013013
the onlything real different is a couple of apps were added like call recorder, kernal manager, spare parts, titanium backup and thats is, just a few things i notced not having right away were the notification power control, the 6 sgnals bars
these are the features of bamf 1.6
Features of 1.6
1.13.605.7 base
Debloated, which includes vzw framework, apps, games, libs, and permissions.
Tweaked filesystem and minfree.
Zipaligned (just once, not every boot, sorry), and deodexed. Odex and deodex perform the same after the first boot, when deodex roms get....odexed. This is merely to save space in /system and make tweaking easier.
Added Google Car Home, removed HTC car app.
HTC Hub and htcsense.com are partially working.
Removed Stocks widget, and app. Google has better apps for this anyway.
Superuser is fixed with rmk40's version, woot woot!
Our own busybox, version 1.19
Profile added to system/bin to help prevent certain malware.
Kernel has init.d support, as well as adb root, and usb debugging enabled on every boot (even from a wipe). Many optmizations, tun, cifs, nfs support. Overclocks to 1.5ghz. Undervolted from 1ghz and down. Stock voltage at 1.19, slightly overvolted past that.
Kernel will boot at 1036mhz! You must use setcpu to overclock, the kernel will not do it for you automatically.

No location indicator, thanks Bgill55!
No recent apps on notification bar. Inspired by http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1004975, using 1.12.605.9 framework, which appears to have quite a few fixes, at least in xml.

Yes, I know the features, but I still don't understand what exactly you expected to SEE differently. Not every feature is something that is going to be "seen".
Re-download the rom, boot into recovery, make a backup, wipe everything, install the rom, it should all be fine then.
thats what i'm working on.
still didnt work, i tried the remix. still have the 4 bars for signal and and no notification control panel. I rebooted in to CWM, cleared the data, cache, and dalvik, then installed the rom, and then even cleared everything again and then installed the rom and rebooted.
hmmm... probably not the issue, but what version of CWR do you have?
i am running 3.0.2.5
Wow, I am stumped, i'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone else can chime in and figure out the problem.

anyone have any ideas?

New Xposed Mod: Smart Alarm Icon
This mod will change the alarm icon in status bar to be only displayed for a configurable time before alarm will go off. This for example will remove the icon on Friday and Saturday if the alarm is scheduled for working days only. The threshold for when the icon gets shown is configurable via UI.
=> This makes the alarm icon more valuable again, since if shown permanently one gets used to it quite fast.
Limitations
Works on HTC and Samsung stock-based ROMs version 4.0.3 and higher (permanently hides the icon on other devices)
You MUST accept that you use any modification at your own risk
If you want to try it, follow these steps:
If not done yet or included in your custom ROM, install the Xposed framework as described in this thread (requires root)
Install the attached APK and activate the module in the Xposed installer (this is also described in the framework thread)
Reboot
To change settings, tap on the module in Xposed installer
ChangeLog
Code:
[B]1.2[/B]
- Samsung ROMs now fully supported
[B]1.1[/B] (392 dloads)
- Preferences now include "show never" (slider left) and "show always" (slider right)
- Removed "active" checkbox (now configured with slider)
[B]1.0[/B] (86 dloads)
- Initial release
Hope you enjoy and let me know. Great thanks go to rovo89 for this fabulous framework.
My Other Xposed Mods
All HTC and Samsung ROMs Android 4.0.3 and above
Smart Alarm Icon
Only shows the alarm icon in status bar a configurable time before next alarm
All HTC Sense 5 ROMs
BlinkFeed Back To Top
Enables the back button in BlinkFeed to fast scroll to top
All HTC ROMs Android 4.0.3 and above
Custom Status Bar Opacity
Easily configure the opacity of the status bar when it is transparent in lock screen and launcher
Nice, thanks, very handy! Just installed it and it works great!
nice
Nice idea, good to see more Xposed framework stuff for the m7.
a little off topic but i wonder if xposed could activate or deactivate the NFC icon that shows up in some countries ? ( doesnt show up in uk devices )
PEACE

Glad to hear. May I ask which phone and ROM you're running exactly?

Probably yes. I don't have my hands on any AT&T/Rogers ROM, on which NFC icon it is reported to show up. Furthermore, I'm not using NFC at all, so I'm afraid it makes no sense for me modding this. I suggest keeping an eye on trixx's TrickDroid thread, his ROM at least supports AT&T models - maybe he's willing to include this at some point

Dev edition, stock but rooted. With the Xposed framework now, I find I can get the tweaks/mods I want without even needing a different ROM.
1.29 rogers stock Rom here and everything is perfect. Xposed is so good it's almost sexual...

Cool thanks man being waiting for someone to get rid of that works great
Thanks, working fine on TrickDroid 5.3.0
Thanks!
Dude. I didn't bother looking around to see if anybody had tried this on a GS3 (yeah I know wrong thread) but this is awesome. I absolutely HATE the stupid icon up there all frackin day when my alarm isn't until the morning. So far works great on my sprint GS3. Thanks!
Beautiful.

Has work great on my note 2, but really it should work on any device as long as you have xposed installed. Would be great to hide other icons as well.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Works fine here too. Thanks!
it works partially for me on my note 2.
hiding permanently works.
but if I set the icon to be visible again it stays hidden.
is there a delay in this, or is it a bug?
it's not a disaster if it's a bug though, I wanted the icon gone permanently anyway.

Thanks for your feedback. I updated to v1.2, which fully support Samsung ROMs now. v1.1 had the limitation that threshold was only working on HTC ROMs. On none-HTC/Samsung ROMs it will keep on hiding the icon permanently.
it's working perfectly now.
I have been searching high and low to get rid of that icon on JB. Thank you for freeing up some space on my status bar!
Tested on Nexus 4 and it works perfectly, Running vanilla Android 4.2.2, so it's not just limited to Samsung/HTC roms it seems.:good:

Thank you for this information. Wondering which clock app is installed / comes shipped on your device? Since only HTC and Samsung alarm settings and changes are handled, it should only hide (not auto-show) the icon on vanilla ROMs.
I thought I'd share with everyone that THEMER is finally LG G3 Compatible as of today.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer&hl=en
Installed just fine over the restored version I have.
Now to check out all of the new themes from the last month.
I had been checking daily for an update. I'm glad they finally made it happen. :good:
When I try to pick a theme I get the message...
"Themer is not detecting a supported screen dimension or resolution."
Current screen dimensions
2413x1440, DPI=560
Only the stock DPI is supported for any given device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/themer/general/best-dpi-to-themer-t2842008
And here's their sub forum here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/themer/general
Lastly, this thread has some tips on how you can force compatibility through DPI and other tricks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2478947
So is Themer *fully* compatible with the LG G3, or does it just let us download the app and attempt to apply themes?
I had two instances where I was 'testing' themes without having Themer set as my default Home Screen, and it locked up my phone. Had to remove the battery both times in order to reset.
Is this a known issue, having to do with DPI settings needing to be adjusted?

Fully. I've had no issues at all. As long as the DPI and nav bar are stock, shouldn't be any issues.
Thanks. Good theme
Hi,
I succesfully unlocked and rooted my G5. It's rooted as well and I have Xposed 3.0 alpha4 installed and the app says the framework is active.
However I can't seem to change anything. I tried GEL Settings for example to change the grid size of the google launcher or the G4 Tweakbox to change the battery symbol. But nothing happens. I reboot and everything is the same.
I have the feeling I'm making some real dumb noob error, but I don't know what...
Any help is appreciated.
I assume you have turned the modules on? Open xposed and go to modules and ensure they are ticked and reboot if not. I assume you have done this otherwise you would get notifications from the modules that they are not axtive.
I did notice that the battery icon change in the g4 tweakbox did not work after reboot for me. I would recommend trying it with gravitybox instead.
Also, to confirm xposed is working correctly, try installing a module that delivers an obvious effect. For instance burnt toast or YouTube background playback.
Good luck
Yes, the modules are active.
Tried the Youtube Background module - no joy.
I don't get any error messages, everything installs fine, it's just not working...
Has anyone dealt with weather animation stuck on raining? Running latest stock. I've got the anxious module installed. Tried reboot, clear cache and dalvick, removing anxious module with no change. Lockscreen animation shows rain. Oh yea, it's not trained here for at least 72 hours.

What location does the LG weather app show? Maybe it's raining there? E weather animations get location data and weather information from the LG weather app.
One quirk of the weather animations is for clear weather it will show sunshine, even at night. Which is probably why LG doesn't enable all the weather animations. But I like them.
I had the ones LG enabled before, then we found others LG had in inventory but were not ever using.

I've been using those for sure awhile now with no issue. I'm not sure how to open the lg weather app. I can find it in my system, but only able to force close, clear cache, etc....
I'm familiar with the sunshine animation, just haven't seen it for a bit.
It must have been a quirk. I just rechecked, and it's showing cloudy. It is partly cloudy here at the moment.
