Stock ROM for S3 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Folks
Which is the best lollipop stock rom for this phone? I take it google doesn't have a rom out for this and I have to choose amongst cyna and others. Right? I have a nexus 6 and looking for something that most closely resembles that and plan to use xposed module on top of it
Thanks

@sam008: the one&only for S3, therefore the best, you find here. The actual version is made by @mcgi5sr2 (download link in post 94). Xposed is not recommendable.

[Q] A rom of original android for every phone...please?

Ok, this is my first time posting on the forum. A little bit nervous!
My question is...where can I find an android rom, I mean, original, not modified, no crapware, clean like the android AVD.
This rom I am looking for should be a gingerbread...but I am not sure that the OS can be handled by the phone. My phone is a China-made one, 416 mhz processor, 191 MB RAM, ARMv5. Modified to look like an iPhone but I hate that.
Please note that it is android but not iOS.
The android rom that I mentioned above...does it really exist? I google it for the whole day but got no luck.
Otherwise, modifying the rom is my second chance.
I don't want to brick my phone! Data inside the phone was nothing important so I rather loss it.
Thanks a lot if I got that android rom! Note that I don't have clockworkmod because it is not supported.
There is no "universal Rom." every device has a different stock or original Rom. The stock Rom is the unrooted, untouched Rom that you get when you first use the phone. You can't have a universal Rom like ios because every phone is a different size, shape, and different specs. You could root your phone and look for the gingerbread version of your Rom. Hope this helped.

Nonono, I mean the rom like the AVD. Wasn't android roms will suit the size of the screen of the phone like the apps?
Looks like I need to modify the rom...pros please.
OK, I went to modify the stock rom. I use the AVD's settings.apk, phone.apk, mms.apk, browser.apk, calculator.apk, music.apk, launcher.apk, and lots more...will that brick my phone? I know that is a little risky so I got an update.zip that can rescue my phone.
Yes you will most likely brick your
Device

And you thought celebrities weren't smart! =P
The pure. Original rom is aosp.... I doubt your device has it

when everyone will be able to install the fckn OS he wants on his fckn phone, it will be a better world...for the moment there are very few devices with official aosp support (read: only nexus)...I bought an xperia s because it was the only non-nexus device in aosp project, but it seems that google kicked it out...your only hope is community...try to search more on forums...
and listen to me: buy a nexus
Ok, I gave up... China made phones are not so good at finding custom roms as they also don't have clockworkmod. So, I started modifying one by one, from the music (changed to musixmatch), email (use the avd's one), camera (use procapture free), launcher (use 360 launcher pro with android 4.0 theme) and now it looks like a device which looks like aosp! Decided to change the app icons in the update.zip to make it fantastic!

[Q] Where do I find current/new code when installing an apk?

So here is what i'm trying to do.
I use to have a Galaxy Nexus with AOKP, OmniRom, etc installed as well as I have OmniRom on my 2013 N7. My current phone is a Moto X & I have the stock rom on it with xposed installed.
What I like abut Omni on my N7 is that when I go to install an apk, I get the current version installed as well as the new version installed under version info (which you can't find on stock roms). (look at the screen shot attached)
I've been interested in trying to make an xposed module to re-create this for stock roms however I have no idea where to find the string of code that inserts the current/new info you see in the screen shot. I've tried Stackoverflow, but haven't found my answer yet.
It's obviously seen in many custom roms & i'm sure many of you have seen it, but I don't know what portion of the rom it gets coded in, to be able to see what the strings look like to make it work.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need to ask a rom dev or try to ask this on stack?

Help choosing ROM

Hey guys,
I know there are many best ROM threads out there as well as many flavors suitable for all needs. Personally, I just don't have the time test everything until I find the perfect ROM.. So I hope you guys can help me choose a good one considering the list below..
I'm currently using CM11 and although it's a great lightweight rom I miss many basic Samsung stock functions (swipe to call, palm to mute, etc..). I also know some apps should solve this but IMO they don't..
So, I'm looking for a Samsung based rom that's:
- easily installed by pc or cwm recovery
- stable and preferably bug/freeze fix free with everything working
- lightweight and widely supported
- although not essential, preferably with nightlies updates
- either s5 or mini s5 based
- android 4.4.2 or higher
And I think that's it. Thanks in advance.
There are not many 4.4 tw roms to try. Best bet would be to read the threads and see what the user's think. See what the problems are ect ect

[Q/A] Anyone Know of Any Up-To-Date Roms for a SM-G925P?

Hey guys, I've been searching for ROMS that are for the SM-G925P (I have found some but they're not being maintained anymore). There is a specific one I'm looking for, which goes by the following guidelines:
Deodexed for Xposed (Systemless)
Debloated
Multi-User Support
Using Android 6.0.1
Works with a SM-G925P
That's pretty much what I'm looking for in a ROM.. the only one that's pretty close is Renegade HD, but like I said, it's not being maintained anymore

Rooted i545/OF1 - now what?

As the title says, I've got a rooted i545 running 5.0.1 on OF1. I have a new daily driver so I'm wondering what I should do with my s4.
I don't have any 'need' for this phone, so I'm open to ideas. I have a couple of young (3/4) kids that I was thinking of loading it up with kids apps for them. I also thought of keeping it in my car and connecting it to a wireless OBD reader all the time. I'm not locked into either idea.
As it is currently, the phone keeps prompting me every day to update which I really need to get rid of. It looks like OF1 limits what I can do with it (no LineageOS), but I saw that Albe95 S6 FULL PORT 4.7 should work. Is there anything else fun I should consider?
Phoenix ROM, the s6-s7 rom, the new cyanwiz updates which use ports of the nougat frameworks for the next gen appearance.
Viper4android and a plethora of sound mods.
My flash list contains almost 11 different modifications besides the ROM and kernel updates.

Sounds great ... will this work with my i545 on OF1? On tdroms I see a build for the i9500 and the i9505; I didn't think I could use their roms interchangeably.

Some roms will work, just make sure you also flash the relevant kernel files. They're usually provided on the oc1/of1 compatible threads.
