Unlocking the SIM?? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Ive been looking online all day and havent found anything solid. I have a verizon galaxy note 2 and im trying to switch to tmobile if its even possible. Im running 4.4.2 ND7 and I just successfully rooted using GhettoRoot and now I just want to switch the carrier and need some help/guidance. Oh and Ive tried using the service mode codes Ive found and they dont do anything went I punch them into the dialer.

Hi
Have you tried to uninstalling verizon apps?
I'm from Saudi Arabia and that worked for me
Now I can make call and text but the data on the sim card are not activated ?:crying:
You can use titanium backup to uninstall them...

Unlock-codes work only for GSM devices, not CDMA.

[Q] Trying to get ics 4.0 on my Samsung Showcase

So after reading through all the posts about flashing my phone to ics from droidstyle's post, i ended up trying to flash my phone from 2.3.5 (which I was not able to update normally by my crappy carrier) to one of the ics roms. Which ended up giving me zero 3g access. My question is are their specific files i can pull from a working Showcase with the latest carrier supported os, to put on my phone after i flash it to ics to get it to access 3g again? My problem is all these roms and what not tend to be based off verizons phone the fascinate. Which as far as i can tell are almost identiacal except a few differences. I dont have verizon as my carrier but a little kansas based one called nex-tech.
there is a 3g data fix.zip floating around here somewhere in this section...thats what u need.
*edit found it

So that'll fix it? Ur awesome. I tried searching about 3g but I couldn't find anything

OK so another question... if that doesn't work how do I revert back to the stock OS from my carrier that gives me 3g access

most likely you will have to call your carrier and have them do a esn swap or activate a old phone on your line then switch back.
I went down to the office and they did a swap of a phone they had in the building. No luck what so ever. My girl friend and i have the same exact phone, minus a small hardware update between them. Ive completely erased all of my phone and flashed a generic showcase rom and updated through their website. They programmed it and all that jazz but no luck...
phone info
hardware version 1500.05
firmware version 2.3.5
Baseband version S:i500.05 K.EI20
Biuld number SCH-I500.EI20
If u need any other info im happy to do anything to get this damned 3g back

You want an easy fix? Activate it on a Verizon account....
I'm not trying to offend you, but Samsung created it for Verizon network...you might be able to program it to work on another, but you might not...idk
DROID DOES, Apple did...like I forgot when
Well the phone is a Nex-tech phone, that is where i bought it from. That is the local cell phone provider here. Its worked flawlessly rooted for almost 6 months. Then i decided to try and get ics on it and followed the guide droid so awesomely wrote up for everyone. It didnt work so well for me, because Nex-tech is some random generic cdma cellphone provider.

I had a Sprint Epic for a brief time but live in an area where it was using Nex-tech's towers since Nex-tech is part of Sprint's roaming alliance. I was running custom Froyo roms from XDA because there was no official Froyo release at the time. After a few months it had the same problem with losing 3G. I spent two hours on it with Sprint's tech support and never got it to work again. They even sent me a refurbed phone and it failed right out of the box. They wanted me to drive to the nearest store to have them activate it, which was 1 1/2 hours away when it should have been able to activate thru Nextech's system. Needless to say I ate the ETF and got a Fascinate.
My theory is Nextech has some kind of black list that shuts off data on phones it thinks are roaming for an excessive amount of time. Maybe switching to an ICS Rom designed for the Fascinate might have triggered that.
Good luck with getting it working. The main thing that keeps me from going back to Nextech is their lame tech support and huge repair times instead of refurbished swapouts. I keep hoping when Nextech's contract with Sprint is up next year maybe Sprint will come out here.

Are you rooted, and running 4.3. I've had some problems with it, and seen a lot of people talk about losing 4g
Big Mike's Lil R2D2 running CM KitKat/Devil
When in doubt, factory reset, it will reset the apn settings.
after trying several things i finally stopped in a Verizon store an had my sim replaced which took care of it for me!(on a side note im very satisfied wit accepting the 4.3 ota with root an sum apps dat root enables me to run ive really been enjoying tha small tweaks dat can be made to my device)

[Q] verizon note 2 / root / rom / apn for ST

whats the safest method for rooting my verizon note 2?
what rom would you suggest? Was going to go with jedi x

thanks again.

[Q] Using Verizon Note 2 with AT&T

I have a Verizon Galaxy Note 2 that I am trying to get to work with AT&T. The phone is rooted and I have the awesome N3BULA rom installed. AT&T is now cheaper so I am switching over. Verizon is just too darn expensive.
I went by my local AT&T store and picked up a new SIM card, brought it home and put in my phone. Called AT&T and activated the sim card on my plan (they said for some reason the IMEI was showing a tablet, I explained it was a global phone and they activated the card). I was told to turn the phone off and wait 5 minutes and turn back on and it would be working.
When I turn the phone on I am not showing a signal, all I am getting is a circle with a slash through it. Hate to call them back before I check to see if there's anything else I need to do to get it working. I have added the APN information but still no go.
Anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.
Tim

No, didn't think I needed to. Thought others had just put in an at&t sim card and started using their phones.
No go into settings, more settings, mobile networks, network mode. Change it to gsm

Tried switching to both GSM and Global and neither had any affect. Could it be the custom rom changed the radios and caused this?
I doubt. The i605 has a different radio from all the other note 2 iirc. Hmm screen shot your apn settings and post them. I'm using my i605 on at&t on a Verizon rom

[Q] No Service or Mobile Network on any Sim :(

Hey guys I've spent the last few days reading old threads about using the i545 on USA GSM Carriers.
I bought a Bad ESN Verizon Galaxy S4 on eBay. From what Ive been reading these phones come factory unlocked and i figured I would
buy one to use on T-Mobile.
I have tried countless things now and for some reason all I get in the status bar is a circle with a line through it.
I have tried various APN settings found around older threads but still i get no signal.
I rooted and installed the newest hyperdrive and still nothing.
Ive even tried an AT&T sim & an old Orange Sim I have lying around for these testing situations.
They both show a circle with a line through the middle and when I try to make a call it just says "Mobile Network Not Available"
If I remove sim and power on the phone it states there is No Sim Installed.
I am running Hyperdrive RLS15 with 4.3 MK2
I've heard that if a phone is blacklisted it cannot be used in the USA on any carrier is that true? and if so why are some users stating they bought a bad esn phone and works fine on GSM US Carriers? I am really confused decided to make an account and maybe get some more insight.
Thank You guys!
Any XDAers have any suggestions?
Anything would be appreciated, Thank you guys again
I apologize for the self bumpage, I dont now what else to do.
This is my final bump, Should I just resell on ebay?
How can you even use this phone can it be flashed to any service or used anywhere?
tried at&t and t-mobile sims with apn settings to no avail just a circle with a line through it on the status bar.
Thanks
Peace
Bad ESN usually means it was reported stolen. You're basically SOL

Thanks man, I guess I didnt want to face this truth,
Is it SOL internationally as well? Wondering if i can state that if I try to resell it on ebay.
Since im honestly dubious this thing works anywhere, is there a global IMEI database?

Sorry but you will have a hard time getting any help with a bad IMEID phone.
That's a stolen or insurance fraud device. Parts only.
