Okay first of all I am sorry if this is not the correct thread to be posting this question.
I have an At&t optimus g and I have been using it in Pakistan for quite some time now, and it worked flawlessly without any major problems. However, now in Canada the same phone doesnt receive network coverage and the service providor says that the connection fequency is not compatible with the phone.
Also, I rooted and bootloader unlocked my LGOG recently using FreeGee but ended up softbricking it, then later using teenybins I did recover it and flash the stock firmware. But I did not flash a baseband (dont know if i need to).
So, I think its either the baseband or radio (some regional problem) causing this problem but have no clue which one it actually is. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou.
How did you unbrick it?

I softbricked it and went through every trick here at xda but could not unbrick it, did not find the compatible lgnpst. Any way had to finally go to karachi mobilr market and get it done. Hope you find a solution , but do keep us updated.

What band does the carrier use? (850, 1900, 2100, etc) it could be a compatibility issue with the carrier.

This is what I found out
The wind mobile network uses a frequency called AWS, with bands 1700/2100. The LGOG can support both these frequencies, i doubt it is a compatibility issue.
Or is it possible that currently it has no baseband whatsoever, and that i need to flash one? Really confused..

I used the e970 teenybin fix with tSilenzio's Automated LGNPST and the ls970 dll. However that did not cut it for me and I had to go ahead and use the "teenybin(AltBin)" which fortunately got me as far as the recovery. From there, obviously, I was able to flash roms.
Hope this helps.
Op, try flashing the stock att JB radio. If you were using it overseas then it's already unlocked, should work fine for 2g and 3g in Canada.
Sent from my LG Optimus G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hello, I bought the LG G2 D802 from china, I live in Georgia use beeline as my network provider. The phone satisfies all specs for Beeline 4G LTE.
I did all of the tricks described on XDA-Developers (changing to lte from hidden menu, editing build.prop and settings.db). Software which was installed was HKG. I installed resurrection rom but still don't get LTE signal. What should i do now?
Please help
Do you use old sim card or new usim from beeline ?
I seem to have similar problem with 4G.
It was announced today that 4G is available with phone network so I tried most things and can't get 4G.
The phone company told me to wait for lollipop and then try again.
I will update manually to lollipop and see what happens
I have new USIM card.
Maybe B20 is disabled manually?
I installed EUR-XX stock rom now i can't enter LTE-Only testing menu. Toast appears saying not supported
Hmm try RAT...do
*#*#4636#*#*
Go to : phone information
Set the prefered network to LTE/WCDMA.
do not use LTE ONLY other wise you wont be able to receive sms and call
I tried RAT selection already, i tried all of the methods described here.
I even tried other cellular network which supports 4G LTE, still nothing
Try deleting LteSettings.apk reboot and report.

Tried nothing changed.
I checked the cellular provider's website they have feature which auto-detects if phone supports their LTE band and website confirmed that this phone supports it (B3 1800MHZ).
Maybe the problem is here i opened the LG hidden menu -> LTE-only -> Modem Settings -> LTE Band selection. all of the bands are unchecked. (Check attachment). If i check them up nothing changes, there's no save button, opening hidden menu again show that they are still unchecked even if i check them

Well.. applying a different rom as you mentioned earlier will not change your baseband. Even thought the phone has the specs to work on your area, it may not work if the applied baseband is not compatible.
Browse for a suitable baseband, flash it and report back.

Sorry what do you mean in baseband a modem? I thought baseband was dependent on OS like JB baseband or KK baseband.
If you've meant the modem so yeah I have flashed a couple of modems but nothing changed at all. I'm gonna go to cellular provider's office on saturday.

The software claims that it's D802
That doesn't mean it is a D802 actually... there's a lot of cases of China's bought phones that aren't what they should be.
https://cdn.recombu.com/mobile/images/phones/1282/1378840179.jpg its should we written on the back of the phone D802 (under the logo)
I have the exact same problem as op. My phone is an HKG real D802 because imei on back of phone match, and i flashed an Open euro D802 kdz over original HKG. That said, i dont need 4G as my career doesn't support it but it's nice to find a solution for this problem.
Hmmm, i think what you need is to flash modem / radio zip...
I'm from Indpnesia. As I have D802 and I reflashed the SEA v. 20B modem/ radio then recheck lte/wcdma using RAT menu it worked...
Fyi SEA =south east asia...

Hi,
Yes confirm no lte before i flash the 10B ESA modem
As for update info,
Previous Rom that I used and work on ESA LTE is :
pardus classic 7.7
FR 1.2
Bruce.
This morning I flased Pardus 3.2 sensation black and no LTE found.
i have tried all reflashing :
Stock Baseband, 20h baseband (both kitkat)
Stock kernel / then dorimanx kernel,
Bootloader,
Modem/radio ESA 10b
update:....
It works...I get LTE again.
I knoq its a long shot why dont you try flashing other modem/radio. (At least same network provider and make sure its GSM / CDMA network)... If u get no signal effect than just revert your current modem/radio file again...
Cheers,
My Note 3 was pushed the Lollipop upgrade. I avoided clicking OK to give permission but after a week it upgraded by itself (interesting...?)
This is bad news for me as I need international sim unlock - which I got via SUU app on kitkat - but now that doesn't work
Also GPS accuracy has suffered and my widget for turning 'Mobile Data' on/off don't work...now it's a 4 tap process (a reaaaaal pain in the neck)
I can put of with the GPS and 'Mobile Data' widget issue (for now), but I REALLY (!) need international sim unlock (sprint refuses to unlock it!) and SUU app is not working on Lollipop.
It seems a root is my best option(I've never rooted), as well as making sure modems go back to a previous version also (not sure which version). What's my simplest course of action to minimize risk of bricking and do a simple 'one touch' root that will allow me to unlock international sim use (domestic US unlock would be nice also! )
Any help is appreciated or a link to specific thread. (Travelling internationally very soon so need to WORK IT OUT ASAP)
If it was unlocked before, your good to go. Oden the m4j modem and do the rest and the apns. Worked for me.
The GT app will be updated for lollipop so the international unlock will work, says the Dev.
but with lollipop i got an error msg when i used SUU. i assumed it didnt work and theres no safe way to know until youre overseas.
And what did you mean with Oden mj4, and do the rest and the apns? 3 different steps...can you please elaborate. Thx.
And the GT app ?
So it worked for you. And what about domestic sim unlock ?
Thx again, Sammy

I ran the ssu app before lollipop and it " Sticks !" I've odened back to KK to take the Ota lollipop, I've used oden to install lollipop, and have flashed CM 12 none of that undid the unlock.
I am in the US on TMoble network with a ting.com sim and the MJ4 radio with the right apns every thing working great. The rest of the steps are the settings in the HiddenMenu.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593305
Easy to do just follow the steps.
The GT app is another program that did/will do the international unlock and a whole lot more. Dev says he's updating it for lollipop.
Thanks for all this.
Does me having a SPRINT note 3 make a difference (as opposed to your t-mobile)
And where did you get the sotck, KK, lolliops and the CM12 roms - here on XDA or elswhere ?
is the MJ4 the same for sprint as it is for t-mobile.
I assume you did the domestic unlock and all works well ?
Thanks again

You can set your preferred connection in phone settings, under mobile networks. So any ROM built for LS990 should work.
I have a LS990 on ZV4, official firmware but rooted and unlocked. I am not in the U.S and I'd like to upgrade the phone to official 5.0.1 firmware on ZV8 and still be able to use this SIM. Could you please point me to the right direction on how to proceed? By the way, I'm also getting 'restricted access changed' notification and signal fluctuation using the SIM I'm currently using. Oddly, using other carrier SIMs I don't see that notification. Anyways, suggestions please?

Quick Circle help
I asked the following in a thread I created, but it hasn't gotten 1 single reply, hoping you may be able to help me out if I posted it here:
So I recently flashed my G3 with Resurection Remix ROM, which is amazing btw, and the one thing I am missing is the Quick Circle functionality. Possibly extracted from the LGUP dump?
As far as flashing it while keeping other things as US998, I don't know.

I would assume you could just copy the build.prop from the VS996 phone's rom and just overwrite the US998's build.prop, then change the permissions to rw,r,r. It's worked for me on Euro roms to get Sprint's LTE bands back.
It may be possible but why do you want to do so? The rest of the fw will still be us998 and as it is all network/radio functions should work properly..
You can find the modems, etc. in the backup dump you made in LG UP during the frankenprocess (if you made one) and then just repackage as a twrp installable.

I tried editing the build.prop and wound up with com.android.phone FC's. Maybe because I'm running a theme. Never flashed the modem, worried I will brick it. The build.prop from the stock Oreo dump will be in the system folder.

I was curious as well as to would this work. I have a LS998 converted to US998, running on Verizon.
Sent from my LG-US998 using XDA-Developers Legacy app

Wondering if I could just flash the modem.bin file using lgup. I'm lost when it comes to LG.

I finally replaced the US998 build.prop with the VS996 build.prop. (tried it once before, but I just realized I had never fixed the file permissions to 0644 rw-,r--,r--)
I get the same "contacts has stopped" error. Solved that with a different dialer app.
Still getting the "Unfortunately, Hidden Menu has stopped" error once on boot. No idea what that is about.
Everything else seems to work. Phone reports as VS996.
Hoping somebody can get Verizon's voicemail app to work.
Anybody have the .apk?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/making-modem-bin-flashables-twrp-t3794435
Read this page
You just need the modem.bin for Verizon I would think the process to flash modem would be the same
The readmetxt. Has the instructions
Make sure you thank @JWnSC
I never had to do this. I just activated the bands from the hidden menu via a shortcut / secret dialer code app.

Well if this works then it's way easier
I'll try it when I flash back to this rom
I flashed the modem.bin. I had my phone working fine, just was hoping for better service on vzw. I felt my samsung was much better in areas. I will see if it helps, or lg just has crap radios
EDIT>>>> I now only can get lte only, or cdma only. It doesn't switch automatically. Anyone have a flashable modem for the us variant? I think the issue is there are more than one modem.bin files
OK< I extracted the modem.bin from the kdz from the us fw. I have lte and cdma back
New edit....I extracted the modem.bin from latest vs996 kdz. Flashed it, everything is working as it should. The baseband did change, so I'm hoping for better service on vzw.

I'm trying to locate the app you used. Also if you could explain what steps you did. Thank you.
