[AUDIO] DSP+ for Lolipop / KK - [ TW / CM and others ... ] - Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Here

Is this better than Viper4android?
Im using viper with HTC Boom sound for loudspeaker

I've just flashed this kernel. And I'm pretty new on using Kernels. Does it immediately take effect or do I still have to wait and recharge for another batt cycle? My primary concerns are battery life and the equalizer.

[Q] Custom rom or not?

The title pretty much says everything. What should I do?
The reason I've stuck with the stock rom is;
- Beats (The actual HTC one, also present in all audio and toggle when watching video)
- May receive updates (see below)
- HTC's Camera
- Seems to be the most stable
However, I also want these;
- Good battery life (Which stock rom is just, awful at doing)
- Slightly faster performance (It's fast already but you do get some delay with actions, mainly cause of HTC's junk.)
- Android 4.2.1, mainly for the expandable notifications really, I'm fed up of having to pinch them all the time.
- CPU Limits (underclocking)
HTC still haven't given us the 4.2 update yet. They're absolutely awful at giving them. My Wildfire S got updated to 2.3.5 in Jan '12, long after better Android Systems. If I had the 4.2 update, I wouldn't be contemplating this. Samsung are way better at the updates. HTC need to take a leaf out of their book.
A custom HTC rom is my first choice but I have a feeling the battery will still be awful. CM10.1 is a good option but feels so innocent, and the HTC look has kind of been imprinted on my head.
I'm using the stock rom, rooted and customized a bit(still need to deodex it though). At any rate, I'm having pretty good luck with it thus far, now that it's tweaked a little.
That being said, there are some good options in the roms section that are pretty much all reported to help battery life, performance, etc. Elegancia seems to be really popular at the moment so you might check that one out.
And of course, patience is also key here, in that as time passes more devs will probably get one, more roms will come out, etc. Hope that helps.
hey
Hey im using the viper xl+ rom and it has everything you have mentioned.
Its Stable
Has HTC camera
and is very very stable.
You should give it a try.
If you need anything I could help with the kernal flashing and adb.

I would definitely go with the Viper XL ROM from Venom. It has been absolutely amazing. Performance is top notch, battery is top notch. Hats off to them. Really amazing rom.
Well considering how old this is I assume you already made a decision. That said if you are still looking I would go with Elegancia. The only other rom I tried was venom/viper and my experience was a train wreck. The rom was slow, had a tendency to need rebooted quite often and even after 2 weeks of cycles the batter was poor. Not to mention the force closes and the amount of utilities that seemed useless.
I put a custom rom on my phone out the box. I love ViperX+!
Three words, Yup.

I agree on Elegancia. It looks stock, no ui changes, the pull down menu is stock (unlike viper has too many options in the pull down) no bloatware (for me no AT&T crap) it's rooted and ready to be used. Tried Viper roms for about a day and my OCD was going crazy with so many options. I like it to be clean and simple also it doesn't have a carrier or author boot sounds or images (my stock ROM had an annoying at&t noise and carrier logo and viper had its own boot logo of a cobra and said Viper)

You can customize Viper in any way. If you don´t wanna have so much options, you can delete some of them. The Tweaks give you the ability, to change all in the way you like. That´s the freedom of Android Phones and Viper increases the possibilities.
Would love to run one of aosp, aokp or cm roms but the poor audio is off-putting. I appreciate this is a problem with HTC not releasing the drivers, but for now it keeps me on a stock based rom. I like the clean look of the sense-less Jellybean roms, the low and tinny speaker volume is a little off-putting.

Venom ROM
The Venom ROM is nice. Im just waiting for them to fix the volume rocker mod so I can change songs in Pandora without unlocking the phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098218
Lloir is working a CM10 AOSP ROM and the audio appears fine. The only tinny audio issue I had was with the HTC Inspire and that issue went away with JB ROMs.
I used viper xl on my old ATT HOX for what seems like forever. My single most favorite ROM I have ever flashed, next to CM7 on an inspire 4g. But truth be told I'm very happy with the stock roms performance, I deleted all the bloatware and crap i dont use and its performance and battery life are above average, im very satisfied. The only thing I'd change is the factory battery icon (id like to see actual percentage), and id like to have a landscape mode on the home screen.
stock ROM is stable and fast for sure but Custom ROM's have just some extra options and thats all. I am using ARHD from mike. Loves it !

Did you ever use the Volume rockers to skip tracks on songs when the screen was off with this ROM?
Viper X + 1.0.3
So I have the Viper X + 1.0.3 Rom on my device and have to say: these are worlds between the stock ROM and the Viper X +.
It's fast, absolutely smooth, battery friendly and the support is great.
Again and again

- Beats gives U more options with custom mods -> please See Elegancia Rom or ViperX one ore Lyapota mod alone for any custom rom
- Same updates with same interface with ViperX rom! but much more and better updates
- HTC camera - what the difference? again U can use some useful mods if U want or not as U wish
- Luckily Great devs took care on HOX+. You can rely on Venom Team, Elegancia, Insert Coin, ARHD for sure!
Howewer...
Android 4.2.1 only without Sense for now. If you choose rom not based on stock base then it couldn't be as stable because of many drivers which developers don't have from HTC

Lookin' for Best Battery & Audio Quality ROM

Hi
I'm looking for ROM with 2 features:
1. Best Battery Lifetime
2. Best Audio Quality
That's all. No matter if 4.2.2 or 4.4.2. No matter if CyanogenMod or G Flex port. All I need is audio quality & battery life. Thanks.
Try the Aeonflex 4.2.2 rom for Smoothness and Fast gaming
Or Cloudypro roms for Features and stuff
Or stay at the Stock rom, install Xpsoed mods and a Custom kernel
Beware of KK with audio issues - hissing in headphones.

AC!D Incredible Bass and Sound Mod compatibilty questions and help needed~!

Hey guys I have a few questions in my mind that I would like to ask. Firstly what has been disturbing me is that AC!D Incredible bass is not working on CM or any AOSP ROM. I find it really sad because this has brought me the best sound experience ever with any 4.3 ROM with Boeffla kernel flashed.
The sound experience V4A brings me in CM is far less good than what I had experienced with V 4.3 Android ROM (Boeffla Kernel Flash) + AC!D Incredible Bass. So, right now I am finding it so hard to stay in a ROM, CM and AOSP have the performance I need but the music experience is less good in my Beats Earphone whereas the stock performance is so-so and the Music is simply "heavens".
.The problem I am facing is that when I flash the AC!D Incredible Bass in CM, no audio file is playable. It starts you cannot hear any sound and it automatically stops/pauses. This is really frustrating I've tried tons and tons of ROMs and tons of combinations. I really hope I can find a ROM perfect at my taste and needs.
Thank you,
Shiw

Best rom for G2?

Fast, good battery life, good camera.
Stock LP 30F / AospExtender / other rom?
if camera is priority - skip any non-stock based rom (aka AOSP/AOKP/CM...)
Clody 3.3 best rom others are amateusrs
AOSPA 7 has the best non-stock camera, in my opnion. Its not as good as stock, but i think It comes close. I would say it has like 70% ~ 80% of stock quality. I recommend this ROM or Stock 30F with some debloat+ Dorimanx 12.0
Cloudy is very old rom and not updated.. stock 30F is much more newer version so why installing cloudy rom?
I do not recommend cloudy coz after 3 weeks its freezing. Many lags etc. Very slow rom. After some time is very slow.
I RR, AOSP Extended is also good ( atm running), BlissPop (MM) and my favourite rom from 5.1.1 Dirty Unicorn.
But for 7 i would recommend AOSP or CM.
You have to try them yourself because there is no one ROM that is the best.
AICP if you wan 7.1.1
All roms start to lag after some time, and I hate that about android.. Why do I have to flash a rom after 3 months? 3 months is the best case, some roms even lag after installing necessary apps..
I'm running RR right now. First months were a bliss. Now I can't open snapchat without lag.
When a ROM start to lag try to install Trimmer app, will save you

In my experience, the best rom is official CyanogenMod 13 for d802. It is super smooth, beautiful and very stable! Have been using it for years.

Regarding camera it uses SnapDragon camera optimized for Qualcomm Chipsets, and I believe it is the best camera you can get on a non-stock rom. You can even notice 'image stabilizer' working, didn't notice this feature working on other non-stock roms.
Regarding performance, didn't do any measurement, but it feels really fast and really smooth. I also use greenify. Regarding sound, I can't say anything since I do not know.
Also, according to GSAM battery averages, cm last two times longer than stock rom.
I've been using stock based Google Edition 1.5 with Dorimanx kernel and everything is extremely smooth.
Good battery life
The best camera quality
Smooth UI everywhere
Miracast, Dual Window and Screencast
Privacy guard to block app permissions
Audio over bluetooth works
Audio quality is good, listening with PowerAmp and Sennheisers
GPS has a fast fix
And this is from someone who has tried Cloudy 3.3 and CM 13 previously.

I'm still using KitKat 4.4.2
Dorimanx LG G2 Kernel for STOCK 5.0.2 Branches!
It says that Dorinmanx Kernel does not have support for KitKat 4.4.2
What will be the workaround? what version of Dorinmanx kernel to use?

Custom Kernel suggestions - for great battery backup & sound quality - for MIUI 11
I've been using de-bloated MIUI 11 (Locked Bootloader) since long. Its been working quite nicely.
But lately the battery life has really been degraded over time.
-So i was thinking to flash custom kernel on MIUI , & would really love to know your reviews regarding the kernels that you are using which has great battery life, sound quality & stability.
