Self-brick... - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, is there any way to get back an LG E451G, that got self-bricked after a normal shutdown? Seems that the NAND memory is wrong.
I just want to know if there's something I can do for it to get it working.

Yes I have rooted. Just so you know, there isn't any updates (froyo 2.2.2) and I haven't found any mods. All apps that require rooting work.

Stock rom, I'm not sure....
As for the hard keys, I'm pretty sure they would be Home+Volume Up+Power
That's if you haven't installed a custom recovery on it

Bricked LG US760
Hello to all. I have a bricked LG Genesis (US760) from US Cellular. Can anyone tell me what steps to take and unbrick this phone. It was given to me and I just want to see if I can do it. Any and all help would surely be appreciated.
Thanks.
There's like no support for that device

I have a us760 LG Genesis. I rooted mine using gingerbreak app. Worked great. Very easy. Installed busy box using busybox from market. But you are right there is no support for this phone. No custom recovery that I am aware of. No custom roms. I am running Launcher Pro Plus. I have done a system clean using Diagnosis app from market and it seems to run faster. Elixir2 from market is able to set cpu governers and freeze the US Cellular installed apps. The only problem I have now is the external speaker isn't very loud. Which has been a problem for me on a couple of LG phones. I am currently looking for a fix/mod for the volume. With no luck so far, since there is no custom recovery available. I would try to install the bravia/xloud and see if anything changes, but again, no custom recovery. Any suggestions about this would be helpful.

Doesn't look like the Avid is getting any dev. love at all. Kinda sucks because a custom rom would make this phone a lot better. Mainly got it to tether my Nexus 7 via hotspot and it works great for that.

Too bad there still isn't anything going on with this phone. I just picked 2 of them and have found very little searching the Web, and just this thread here on xda. Does anyone have the rooting zip file I read about on Android forums. Because of my IP(proxy) I can't sign up there so no download for me

As I said before due to the wifi available at my apartments being flagged as a proxy I can't register with there website. Thanks even if you are unable to send me it. So........ Even though there are no ROMs, there's also no section for this phone on the XDA Forums. Well, I have a little problem I'd LOVE to get some help on!
My issue: SOFT BRICKED
- Able to enter into FTM & Stock Recovery
- Unable to boot fully (MetroPCS logo and green Andy logo show up, then screen is black directly after Andy logo) At this point, if connected to PC I can hear audio chime notifying me Windows has detected a device. Computer shows drive label, yet nothing is accessible.
How did I soft brick you may ask? Here's how:
- Attempted to install Beats Audio on my rooted phone
LINK = eapktop.com/beats-audio-installer-2-3-4-0.html
- Half way through, installer says your phone will be rebooted, I tapped Okay. And Skadoosh: Soft Bricked 16GB Metro PCS ZTE Avid 4G
Question: How to install this file/run the stock recover img?! (Pretty sure a simple MicroSD adapter can get the file onto the SD card. But, what then?!
Again, if you help; me love you long time!
ZTE Avid 4G Stock Recovery img can be found here: http://w8mim.com/zte/zte-avid-stock-recovery.img
fix
not sure if that's a ligitimate file (but then again it may be) I used the sdcard update at zte usa website. look for ZTE Avid in the phone listup, and click on support then software updates and then finally on ZTE Avid 4G™ SD Card Software Package
then simply reboot into your recovery and apply the sdupdate (that's saved on the root of the sdcard) and you should be good. Be aware it will remove the root on the phone but you can simply reroot it. also there is a working CWM touch recovery working with Zte Avid and a few slimstock and custom roms as well. Would be a great idea to use the CWM Recovery as ways of recovering your phone if anything happens again.

New user... Couple of questions.. Thanks!

Hey guys,
I just got this device and I'm loving it so far... I'm a T-Mobile customer, so I'm looking to flash a tmobile radio and Rom. The thing is I bought this from someone who used a toolkit to root it and unlock the bootloader. It's also running insert coin Rom and twrp.. I know nothing else is done besides that. This is my first non Samsung device, and Im used to the simplicity of Odin , I really dont want to screw anything up... Anyone have some advice? Thanks in advance...

I am probably not certified to answer this question. But my suggestion is-
You are searching here ( your best bet) so maybe search youtube for how to video's on "un"rooting and going back to stock. They normally have links to downloads that you need.
what is wrong with just leaving it unlocked and rooted, just flashing a different rom?

This will get you back to near stock T-mo >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2281943
your best off to stay away from a radio update unless your having a problem.
Leave the recovery as is for now till you learn more about your phone
make a backup from TWRP and store it in a safe place (other than on the phone) before you go flashing roms (just a good practice anytime)
all the popular roms in the international section will work on your phone, Android Revolution HD, TrickDroid, insertcoin ...etc, just take your time and read a lot
Thanks for the suggestions guys... So even though I'm s-on, I can still flash a different Rom?

Anyone with a Prestigio 5044 able to dump it?

The Prestigio 5044 is a relatively new device, but I'm wondering if anyone has one and is willing to dump its NAND for me? I have one ordered but I'd like to have a dig through its files before it arrives.
There's a guide to dumping it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44509214&postcount=407 and if anyone'd be able to set me up (sadly there aren't any official images yet!), it'd be much appreciated.

Download this http://d-h.st/H62, unlock developer options on mobile (keep pressing build number in about screen)
turn developer option on, tick usb debugging.
Connect cable, select usb mode as MTP device, wait for the driver to install.

Yo dude, I know Im late as hell but if you're still online, can you give an advice on how to flash stock rom?
I did everything according to some guide but when i should get a green circle - meaning flashing succeeded, I dont get anything..it flashes something cause i see the (pink) line moving forward but after it finishes, there's nothing and when i turned on my phone was the same as before. Probably cause of drivers...
I just want to upgrade the official firmware but as I deleted some stock apps, the update fails. So I found the stock rom, now I just have problems installing drivers and flashing it. Geez on my xperia arc s everything was so easy..
If anyone can help, I'd really appreaciate it

[Q] Alcatel One Touch Fierce

Hi, I recently rooted my Alcatel One Touch Fierce. I now want to utilize Rom Manager, but I can't find a CWM recovery for my phone model. Is there a way to still install a CWM recovery manually or any other way? P.S. I'm new to all this. Thanks!
There's no recovery for this phone yet. It seems a lot of people have recently purchased it though, so I'm holding out hope we'll get at least recovery for it. It has a locked boot loader, so it requires a little innovation.

The stock recovery can restore backups made with the stock recovery. It just won't flash anything else. After almost a year, I kind of doubt that there will be any serious development for the Fierce.
Just get xposed framework; it gives you all a custom ROM would (in terms of personalization). It requires root. Use framaroot if you need to root. My Alcatel OTF runs smoothly after rooting and installing xposed.

The recovery alone is here.
http://androidforums.com/threads/new-recovery-for-alcatel-one-touch-fierce-2.993682/
Please note this is a modified stock recovery so it looks the same.
But i have patched the keys to flash my files.
IF YOU ROOTED YOUR PHONE YOU SHOULD FLASH THE RECOVERY.
IT GIVES US A WAY TO FIX BOOT LOOP.
IF YOUR PHONE IS BOOT-LOOPED BEFORE FLASHING THE RECOVERY THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT.
