Hi everyone! I've recently noticed that Android OS is using a huge percentage of my Battery. Can anyone tell me what I can do? Unrooted OS 5.1.1

This is a known issue from Google. It is caused by the Android OS keeping the mobile data active. If you have Wifi or don't need to use data, then disable it, worked for me and greatly improved battery life

Hi! First of all thanks for the reply. Second of all I don't use mobile data just wifi and the issue suddenly popped up. It has resolved now after I charged the phone. The battery is back to normal now and so is the Android OS %. If it resurfaces I'll keep this thread updated. And thnx for telling me that it's a google issue

This has been happening since JB update, I have Google Now disabled and all, battery life has been strong but for some reason every time I charge, it shows Sygic taking a hefty battery usage despite me never having run it. I even have the option to allow Sygic to run in the background off.
(Going into Sygic in the list shows no usage details)
Appreciate any help!

I've emailed Sygic as well, waiting for a response, anyone here any idea?
Same issue here. No ideas yet.
There are no Use Details in statistics at all. It makes me think there are no real usage indeed, but faulty statistics reporting for this program.

Yup I'm noticing this too, and it's random after reboot/full charge, so that looks like false stats.

None.
This is not the issue with Sygic. I installed another navigation software called Route66 and I am witnessing the same behavour, along with Sygic, it's among the top processes in battery stats with empty usage details.
Is anyone else having battery draining issues with the new update ?
I have the 16gb WiFi only version. My battery is draining at ~1% a minute while browsing the web. My battery usage looks like a series of cliffs. For the chart here, 62% of my usage is screen usage. I've been keeping the screen on low brightness or on auto and I see no difference. I know the battery on this tablet was never the greatest, but during usage I don't think it died this fast prior to the update.

i think you should perform clean firmware install or find out what app drains juice from battery.
I actually did a factory restore yesterday and a full charge overnight. I'm going to spend some time observing the battery life today.
I never had many apps to begin with, but since the restore the only thing syncing regularly is GMAIL.

HI,
Were you able to find out what was causing this? I just purchased this tablet and the battery drain is terrible.
thanks,
dave
Root, deodex and remove bloatware is the answer to solve this!

So I recently updated to 402 firmware but was forced to downgrade back to 55 cause of severe battery drain and now back on 55 (after a clean install) the problem persists. I haven't installed anything yet and this is what my stats look like constantly

Note: Facebook is disabled... Lol and the name of the process that appears in the icon is: ANT HAL Service. I have no idea to check what's causing this since I'm not rooted. Anyone an idea?

Alright after countless restarts and force closing of potential apps that could be draining battery I managed so somehow make screen disappear completely from battery stats. I'm gonna reflash firmware cause this is kinda bull****. I've never had such issues before 4.4 and I'm getting the impression that there's quite a few issues with it so far..
Update: after reflashing a clean rom 2nd time in a row I still can't get screen to register in battery usage :S
Anyone got tips for me? I'm this close to going back to the store and getting a replacement.
Do a full wipe and see if issues are resolved.

Didn't work, got a new device today anyway. This one came with 402 and has no issues whatsoever.
Mine too, but not so munch. 5% per night. Heavy widget and home screen installed.

I have written some tips here in my Xperia Z2 battery saving thread. No doubt it will help you. Cheers!

Hello there,
I've noticed in the past couple of days that my phone's battery has been draining like a sieve. I popped into GSAM and found that my phone package is eating 50% of my total power usage. I've had this issue before with Android System and stuff, but that seemed to fix itself.
I've tried a soft reset to clear any memory issues, but that hasn't done a thing, I've lost 30% battery in an hour.
Any advice on how to fix this?

Thanks a bunch!

Try flashing the stock rom with Odin, probably something is corrupted in the phone app
Hello,
I have strange issue with my Galaxy s6 edge.
When battery temperature is 24C phone is restarting, working few minutes and then restart again. But when temperature is rising everything is good.
I replaced battery in service so I think the battery is okey(on old battery this issue performed too)
After change battery I done factory reset and installed clean stock android 7.0, root and twrp.
Is it possible that mainboard has a problem?
Someone can help with this?

Possible hardware fault, download wakelock app from play store and set it to level 3. See if that helps

I installed this app but phone is restarting at all. I think Samsung has a problem with hardware.
Look at battery chart:

When battery temperature is under 25C degree phone is restarting. And it happens with old and new battery.
Or maybe I try back to 6.0?
