The statusbar will be transparent on the home screen (like the S4) when you click into an app itll go back to black. This will be a project that takes a lot of time because I will have to do this for every rom individually and then keep updating it as they do. I dont want to start this project if no one cares for it.
Yes or no? Vote in the poll.
Also, can you guys list roms that dont get updated back to back?
Roms like Jelly Beans is perfect because he isnt always pushing updates, roms like that will be ideal.
Great idea, would you do one for the stock OTA beanstown compiled? Deodexed. Itll never see an update lol

That would be great, Scott's ROMs for the most part don't get updated as often.
Would you be able to include the white colored icons in the status bar like the S4, or are you only focusing on the transparent status bar?

I didnt realize that. Sorry guys, Im going to have to pass on this project because Xposed does allow you do to this + way more options.
First download xposed framework: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1763596&d=1361912261
Its an APK, just install it then open up the app and hit the "install/update" button. After this restart the phone and download Xposed Tweak Box located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1757849&d=1361739667
Install that apk as well. Now go back to the xposed installer (its the first app you installed) and click where it says, "modules." Select Tweak Box now go back to the Tweak Box app and customize away. It gives you options for any status bar color, transparency and much more.
Give these folks a thanks, here is the link to Xposed Framework and Tweak Box below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629653
Edit: Some roms already come with this, some dont and Xposed Framework is universal.

I was under the impression you'd be doing it like on the S4. Although xposed will allow a transparent statusbar, when you enter an app it stays that way.
In your mod you talked about having it go black once you enter an app which xposed will NOT do.
For whatever reason I'm not able to get the Xposed tweakbox to make the status bar transparent. I'm running beans build 14. The slider is to the right making it transparent. I've tried to make other changes, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Yeah. After you make it transparent and reboot, pull down the notification bar, it should be transparent after you move it back to the top. There is a post on beans thread with more in depth instructions .....
This post as well as a few after it talk about getting it to work, though mine hasn't been 100%

You can already do this on Tweaked via TSM Parts.
Hello Note2 Friends, I'd like to introduce to you my new little xposed module app called XQuickSettingsToggle.
As the name implies, it has something to do with the Quick Settings Toggles on the notification panel. What it does is allows you to select a theme or customize the colors of various parts of the toggles including background, text color and transparency without reboot (only a SystemUI restart). I think the pictures below will better show what I am talking about.
So as I said, it requires that you have the xposed framework installed. This is only for TW-based roms. Download the module apk below, install like any other app, enable it in xposed installer app then reboot. After reboot, open the XQuickSettingsToggle app then enable it and select your theme and customize what you want. Then restart SystemUI (available as a menu option). ENJOY.
TIP: If you combine this with my other xposed module: XBackground then you can enable transparency in the toggles that would reflect the notification panel background that you choose with XBackground.

Hi I'm guessing it only works with stock toggles. I have the 23 toggle mod and it doesn't seem to have any effect.

would it be possible to add an option to shrink the buttons if the text and/or indicator line are disabled?
could you perhaps also add a small preview of different themes, or what the current configuration will look like?
it's a bit tedious to reboot after every minor change to see if it looks good, and repeated soft-reboots can cause issues like wiping remembered Wi-Fi networks.
and I've found a few small cosmetic glitches.
in themes without an indicator line, the indicator line becomes temporarily visible while toggling.
and in several themes the off state of the Wi-Fi toggle is much lower quality than the other buttons/states, it looks like it's a lower resolution upscaled to the regular resolution, making it look blurry.
this doesn't happen when using the stock theme, but it I've seen it in both the white and ics blue themes.
Thank or The MOD
Does it have any conflict with Simplistic? I have tried Both of your MODs without success

Managed by setting background to transparent. Only 1 thing though - I see on your screenshot that i.e. brightness control has transparent background and on my phone it doesn't?
I slid the color to the right ..it's a small transparent background but you can't see it with image I'm using ..

do I have to apply a real theme, or can I just apply a picture`? Where can I find themes?

on deodexed ,Yes but no with Simplistic Framework .
Only stock rom
This one is not working for me.
I'm on jedi xv14, could the 23 toggle mod baked into the rom be the reason?
The transparent notification and ui background mod worked flawlessly so thats why I ask about the lindroid settings.

Translucent status and navigation bars in KitKat were disabled for the Nexus 10. This module enables them back for any apps which use them. (This module does not enable translucent status or navigations bars for any other apps.)
There is no settings activity. This module just does one thing for now.
Requires a KitKat-based ROM with the Xposed framework installed.
Props to @rovo89 for the awesome Xposed framework!
You can grab it from its Xposed Module Repository page.
Works well on rooted odexed stock 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 too
Thanks!

It would be great if it was made to work without spoofing a tablet (it can create issues with the correct representation of apps), so it would be great if a phone edition (say for nexus phones) of this great mod was to be released...

The mod should work for any device running KitKat. I thought that the Nexus 10 was the only KitKat device which didn't have translucency enabled, but please correct me if I'm wrong!

Sadly it didn't work to my CM11 tablet, maybe it is because it is classed as a "low ram device" by the OS, but there, (to my experience at least) this mod only works to N10, out of the box at least...

Yes it does! Works wonderfully. Also recommend Xposed GEL Settings to increase the column count (Google reduced it from 8 to 6 for some reason).
Thanks OP for this awesome module! Don't know why Google couldn't have done this.

You need to use a launcher that actually makes use of the transparency feature. Think of the launcher just like any other app - if it doesn't request transparency, the bars will still be black. The stock launcher doesn't do this. You can use Google Now Launcher on the Play Store, Nova, or Apex I believe and you'll get the transparent bars.
