Is there any way to retain music I've downloaded from my Google Music account on the phone if I was to wipe and flash a new rom?
Running Galaxy Nexus GSM
Do you see the Internal Memory as a 'mass storage device' on cumputer ?
If yes, you may try 'Recuva'.
Hey everyone.
It is my first post and i tried other solutions to change external to Internal SD on Note 2..and failed ( i wont say those methodes don't work, cause they work for some ppl...but not for me). I tried this app "Root External 2 Internal SD" (link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImV1LmNvZGxhYi5pbnQyZXh0Il0.) and worked for me.
My N2 have the CWM installed via PhilZ-cwm6 - Safe Stock Based Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191) and i had rooted using CF Auto Root (http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/).. and NOTHING MORE ( dont like to play with ROMS since my xperia neo..always some kinda of "bug" in ROMS)..Well backing on topic..let me explain how i made it work:
1- After installed the app Root External 2 Internal SD use the app update to download other "mods" than S3 default one. (settings -> little green narrow)
2. With update u will see 3 configuration "default SGS3", "CM10 JB SGS3" and "Asus Transformer".
3. Just set "CM10 JB SGS3.
4, In options set "Send rescan"
**Print**
5. In set custom infos just swicth the two configurations (ie. Original internal mount point should be mnt/extSdCard and original external will be /mnt/sdcard.
6 Now in the first page of the app, mark "at boot" and reboot.
**Print**
Attention.
When u set the Original mount point in step 5,,,the changes dont appear in the app. I mean, the app will keep showing the path like u never have changed it..but if u try to edit..it will show your modificated mount point (bug?).
I will try to upload some screenshoots....because (i know)..my english isnt the best, Well im not using google translate. ^^!
Remember im just trying to help..cause i tried to change the memory and failed;;so im sharing the way i made it work.
*****Prints*****
My SD IS 16gb, same amount of the system internal storage..but we know that not all the space is available to users...so..here we go:
Total space in portugues is "espaço total", and its the full size of the selected storage ( NOT THE AVAILABLE SPACE, BUT THE ENTIRE SPACE).
My Internal memory shows 14,6 GB total space. (THIS IS MY SD CARD)
My SD Card shows 10,36 GB total space (THIS IS THE INTERNAL STORAGE).
This app works for me...but every time u open the app, it will make the EXTSDCARD mount point in both parameters...so..u need to reboot your system again to set it the right way (switched).
To avoit this, I just made the app be hide on the app drawer options ^^.
But i needed to unhided it just for SS.... and yeah..I needed to reboot (or the printscreen would show sdcard and Internal with same sizes and usage) and post the SS of my storage stats.
I learned so much in XDA forums (knowledge) because the must important thing here is the furtherance. ( all right this time i used the google translate.I didnt know how to say this...with my own words in english ^^!)
Later.
I have the same problem...
Hello Wi7dOne.
Você é brasileiro?
Well, as this is an international forum, I think I should stick to the language...
I am trying to configure my "External2Internal" app, in an Asus ME372CG Fonepad7, with a 32GB MicroSD Card,
But it doesn't work. I think my mistake is the nomenclature of the mounting points for the internal memory and external memory.
Also, I've tried to get the uodates for I2E app, (The ones you mentioned, specially "Asus Transformer"), but it pops up an error.
If you are still using this (your post is from 2013...), I would like to try once more.
Please respond to this post, or if you are in São paulo, we could talk directly.
You can contact me in (11) 991839684 or (11) 38959932.
Thanks in advance and best regards.

Hello,
I was very excited about the last update of Google Play Music which finally allows using external storage (SD card) for saving offline copies of music files. However, after upgrading to the new version (5.3), I found out that this option is not available on my phone. I tried couple of usual steps (clear data, uninstall the app, clean all the folders while uninstalled) but the options is still not there. I didn't try a wipe or a different ROM yet.
I found mentions related to the fact, that the external storage option in Play Music is unavailable on phones, which don't have any external storage. I'm wondering if this can be the reason - the app is not able to find the external storage. Note that all other apps (including system ones like Camera) have no trouble locating and saving to my 16GB SD card.
I would like to know if there is someone more knowledgable who can guess how the app detects external storage - maybe a symlink or something can fix the issue? Anyway, I would be grateful for any ideas as to the nature of this.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070)
