After factory reset I get "setup wizard has stopped" but I'm not able to flash my rom
Hi all
this is my first post so please be nice to me if I do something wrong.
Ok, where to begin with my long list of problems...
1. I have an Evercoss A28b bought in Indonesia but manufactured in China. It has Mediatek 6972 and SW version is ALPS.JB3.MP.V1.40 (that's what I could find in the phone's factory mode)
2. I rooted it 2 months ago and put all my apps and data on it from my old phone with Titanium Backup. I had some minor problems in the beginning but fixed them all and the phone was running smoothly.
3. This morning I froze "Go Launcher Z" because I didn't like it anymore and wanted to try how my phone looks withour it. Since the moment I froze the app nothing happened. I couldn't access the home screen or the app drawer but only my recently used apps when pressing and holding the home button.
4. I wanted to reboot my phone but it kept booting and booting, saying "android is upgrading" all the time. After one hour I took out the battery and now it's dead.
5. I tried to reset it into factory mode and first it seemed to work because it asked me to do all the settings like language, google account etc. As soon as I was finished a window appeared with "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped" and now I can't even see my homescreen or anything. My screen is black apart from the battery, wifi and SIM icons in the top right corner.
Now, what I tried to do:
1. I googled and found a few solutions saying I should flash my rom. I googled and found the sp flash tool and a rom for my phone.
2. SP Flash Tool did not recognize my phone and there was no scatter file in that ZIP file that I had downloaded.
3. I downloaded MTKdroidtools to try to generate a scatter file from my phone and a lot of different drivers but none of them made my phone connect with DroidTools.
4. So I went back to SP Flash Tool and googled for hours in order to find a scatter file and make my phone connect with SP Flash Tool. I managed to find another rom, this one had a scatter file in it and I also managed somehow to connect my phone with SP Flash Tools. It was only recognized after I had selected the scatter file and pressed the download button though.
5. SP Flash Tools brought an error message saying my pmt has changed and I need a new one or something like that. Unfortunately I can't even re-do this to give you the correct error message because I can not connect my phone to the PC any longer. Everytime I do this with battery or without it keeps connecting and disconnecting all the time.
6. I am at my wits ends and don't know what to do any more.
Please help

Hey all,
In an attempt to load the custom ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658343 I kinda broke the phone.
Part of the steps is to flash the custom Recovery screen.
In the steps you use the Scatter file that's provided and load that up with the SP FlashTool.
Problem though is that I started to get the error SP FLASH TOOL ERROR : (8038).
I then read that by using MTK Droid Root & Tools, I could create a new Scatter file that would fix the error...
Created the new scatter file and then when I loaded it, I got the Big Green Circle saying everything was cool.
Rebooted the phone and it wouldn't come back on.
Crap.
Tried loading into the Recovery screen using the volume and power button, but nothing shows up on the screen.
Tried plugging it into my Win7 and WinXP computers but neither recognize the device and nothing shows up on the screen to say that it's charging.
Is this phone completely gone or is there something that can be done?
Old thread but somehow connected brand new experience to be documented:
What I just experienced was, after a cancelled attempt of flashing recovery, the phone was off and didn't go back on. I tried fiddling with the buttons and assumed it was bricked. Fortunately I didn't give up too soon. It was only after pressing the on button for a very extended time (>30secs?) that it came back to life. It didn't boot further than Wiko logo, but the key reactions were back to normal concerning reboot, booting recovery and cold start.
i recently flashed a new firmware on my sony xperia z2.
everthing went good.
i started up my phone and as i wanted to type in my sim code there was the error Unfortunately,android.process.acore has stopped for a millisecond and then my phone rebooted again and again and again.
pls i wanted also flash another firmware but the same thing happened.
Please Help.
Did a forum search and tried every solution I could but this is where I am at......D6503
Same problem as OP
Had working MM (niaboc79's found @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/rom-official-6-0-1-23-5-0-486-beta-t3336770) but for some reason without the included recovery.
Decided I would install [NUT]'s Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined in preperation for future flashes.
This lead to a Bootloop.
Then I flashed D6503_Customized ES_1281-4644_23.4.A.1.264_R8C.ftf via Flashtool.
This helped me passed the initial Bootloop, all looked good, got the usual "program optimizing" load up.
System booted, albeit in Spanish, to language screen.
After that I got a few errors such as "unfortunately media...gmail...stopped" which allow me to press "OK"
then the "unfortunately,android.process.acore has stopped" message which is where the system freezes and reboots.
If I leave it alone and don't touch it, it just boots for 5/10 seconds before freezing and rebooting.
I tried flashing a different ftf however since flashing D6503_Customized ES_1281-4644_23.4.A.1.264_R8C.ftf all my settings have been reset, so USB Debugging etc is no longer checked which means it will not allow flashing.
I have access via Fastboot and Flashmode but I am unsure what I can do with these to restore a working system.
While phone is booting Flashtool reads my device correctly (model, firmware) and informs me I do not have root access, Busybox any longer.
It does give me the option at this stage, via now accessible tabs in Flashtool, to "root," "ask root permissions," and "install apk" but nothing I do works.
One one occasion, not sure what I did as I seem unable to repeat it, but it said I did infact HAVE root access. At that point I should have clicked on Flashtools "install recovery" or "root" tab but unfortunately didn't.
What are my options here? Is there a solution I can perform myself at this stage?
Thanks in advance
UPDATE:
Tried again for the 600th time, this time took my memory card out and it seems to have flashed the "...264" rom.
Select all wipes when flashing a new firmware.
Hello
Yesterday i have recieved the Pepsi (Koobee) P1S. it was full of bloatware so i decided to flash a modded rom. After i realized that this custom rom is only in english and chinese (Im German) i wanted to switch back to the original. But then i made the biggest mistake: I have flashed the false rom (CM for Mt6592 CPU but false Smartphone). After that i have flashed the right original rom again. but a strange Error appears: the Phone boot up normaly and then freeze and reboot by itself..over and over again. But not at the same step. Sometimes it freeze during the Bootanimation..sometimes it boot up completly and i can swipe through the Screens (for about 10 sec). When i push the standby button (Display went off) the Phone stays in this mode and dont freeze.
the i flashed TWRP and try to wipe the phone. Even in TWRP it freeze, but not during the wipes or in the Boot Mode slelect screen.
I Have a friend with the same phone. Is it possible to copy a complete backup (eMMC etc) to my phone? Or someone had a Idea what i can try next? I have flashed different roms (for this phone) so many times, but the error is still there.
Please help me.. It should be a present for my GF birthday today
SOLUTION
I downloaded the flashtool that flashes MTK Devices then searched google for Pepsi p1s needrom and downloaded the original firmware scatter file, turn off the P1S unplug it from USB,...Start the flashtool, and search the firmware will be second search bar select search and browse your computer for the firmware you downloaded from needrom, then you will see it load all the files.....there is a button bar that has an arrow open the arrow and select firmware update, then hit the green go button after you hit the green go button plug in your powered off PEPSI P1S ....it will give you a red bar on the flashtool at bottom first, then it will format your device properly, then install all the necissary files, its real quick about 3 minutes, after a box will pop up on the screen and say OK with a big check mark, at this point you can unplug your phone, power it up and wait about 3 minutes, everything will be normal again. So sorry I would post the links however I forgot my password and username that I was using for many years and forgot my recovery email as well.....so if you google it you can find the stuff, just hope I helped with the proper method of flashing......good luck, let me know how it goes.
Thanks but i know how to flash the firmware with SP Flash Tool. i have flashed the P1S with 3 different roms..but always the same error (freeze and reboot at different points)
Are you using download mode? Or firmware update? The reason I ask is download mode always gave me a bootloop, but when switched to firmware update mode it formats the device correctly and fixes the file structure, try firmware update mode.
Im using "Format All + Download"
Try using firmware update mode, let me know what happens.
same problem...freeze (at different points) ans reboot.
here you can see what happen:

try this! P1
power off
then hold power button + volume down
the boot mode will appear
select recovery
it will show you no command
then pres power button first and the press volume up
now you device is on recovery
then select
wipe data/factory reset.

I have noted one thing.
when I update supersu to play store and reboot it goes in bootloop.
so I recommend not to upgrade or even to make unroot just after removing apps with viruses
Hello guys, here is the thing that happened to me. One day my Huawei P9 Lite started lagging and suddenly I couldn't even turn Wifi, bluetooth, mobile data or anything on. I couldn't even open the settings app. So I decided to factory reset the phone from recovery screen while booting. Factory reset resulted as successful, but after the reboot I got into first set up screen where I can only get over 2 steps where I come to choose my region and here is where it all lands. When I press next, it looks like going to next step but there is black screen for a second and it turns back to choosing region. I tried using all the regions but nothing. Next thing, I wanted to use download mode to reflash the device using downloaded stock firmware but I couldn't move the file to phone because the phone was not fully loaded. Next thing I tried was that I used ADB to push a file to computer and I got error. I have all drivers installed properly. Then I used Fastboot and rescue mode, where it says that my phone's bootloader is unlocked but when I try to flash device, it says 'Command not allowed'. I found on internet that I have to turn on debugging mode in settings but I can't start the phone so I don't know what to do.
Please help me, I don't know what else to do
Thank you very much
Hello! I posted on the official forum for Blackview but so far I haven't gotten a response. TL;DR, my phone, a Blackview BV5800 PRO, could not boot up (stuck on logo) and using recovery mode doesn't work. I get mounting issues when I try to factory reset, wiping the partition cache, and even mounting it (an option).
So my last resort was to attempt to re-flash the ROM using the provided ROM file by the OEM, which they did have on their forum. The first time around when I downloaded the ROM plus the SP Flash Tool, followed the instructions and all, it appears to be flashing just fine. As soon as it finished with the checkmark on screen, the phone is stuck in a black screen and Windows keeps detecting the device over and over, but nothing happens on the phone. From my research online, this is a feature of all MediaTek devices in an attempt to restore a factory ROM.
Now, when I try to flash again with the SP Flash Tool with the same ROM, I am getting a "STATUS_DA_HASH_MISMATCH" error. Or sometimes i get the "STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL error. At this point, I tried every possible option within the tool itself as well as trying all combinations on the phone Power + Vol down/up/both then plugging it to my PC, nothing. It keeps showing the same error.
Frustrated with this, did I screw up something? Did the preloader corrupt during the first run? I don't know what to do at this point.
