FDD LTE Baseband 20 (800) unlock? - Redmi Note 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi will it be possible to unlock the FDD LTE baseband B20 (800) on the 32gig Pro Version ?
The used this chip, is a SKY77643-11 and he did all basebands. http://www.skyworksinc.com/Product/3065/SKY77643-11
Teardown there u can see the inbulit baseband chip

Really, you can unlock basebands? If someone can unlock 700 Mhz (Band 28) that would be insane, they would sell like hotcakes in Australia.

The tool is Qualcomm specific, not for MTK, unless we got the similar tool for MTK

I know it was only for information thats possible by software code to change such things.

There is an ulocked GSM version of redmi note 2 on aliexpress ( with LTE unlocked ) and here's a screenshoot of the tool they've used, so I think it could be possible:

So does this mean the lte baseband 20 could be unlocked too? I couldn't see it in the screenshot. Do you have a link to the source?

Looks like you need to:
1) Root your phone
2) install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox
3) go to "Engineer Mode" -> "Engineer Mode (MTK)" -> "Bands"
But I don't know if this tool is for changing or just checking bands ( but that's where the screenshot was taken from)

You don't neeed to root yout MTK phone to run the buillt in Engineer Mode app. Just open the dialer and enter *#*#3646633#*#*
Be very careful what you do in Engineer Mode.

you don't need to try and the engineer mode can not add any band even wcdma or LTE

Would it be possible to flaseband from 2014819 (Brazil Version) in order to open different bands? Isn't this something that would be controlled from the baseband layer?
Edit:: 2014819 has Qualcomm SOC, no doubtful

This MTK chip support any band (worldwide) but Xiaomi need to pay a lot of money for just one band. So they just bought 3 for int version.
The best way is to open a Thread and collect money. I think our chinese friends will help us ^^

Kernel sources are already released by xperia (for the xperia m5, which has helio x10), but the baseband sources no and we need it for unlock band 20

Your github link does not include documentation. We would need someone with a very good knowledge.. he might be able to do something about it.
