Play Videos on Youtube - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
Maybe someone got the same issue like me.
I want to Play Videos from YouTube, yes it works at first start, can Play 4-5 Videos before the Play issue stops my current track.
Then a small text is written: We found a Problem, so we cant Play that Video. that appears everytime with 2nd app start and goes until i reinstall the app. This bug Comes with 5.1.1 or 5.0.2. I still don't know if i can fix that, or something is just not clear.
Hope anyone can give more Information.

Yeah. That's a classical problem of lollipop. Until now we have to reboot the device to make it work back again.

same problem
Hello
I have the same problem, uninstall first youtube but the problem persisted, only now restarting can continue watching videos
saludos

I've had this problem since 5.0.2 and it's really annoying.. Does anyone NOT have this problem? Or is this only because of some specific device issue or some other reason..

[Q] Problem playing online video's

Hello,
Recently i started having this problem where both YouTube and Facebook won't play video's anymore. YouTube gives the following error message: "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry." Facebook also indicates it just can't play the video... Offline video's play without any problem.
What could be the problem here? Could this be a problem with Flash or something? Tried installing another version from their website, but didn't help. A hard reset will be my final option, but I would like to know a more convenient way to deal with the problem
Thanks!

Problem just solved itself randomly... Today all video's started working again, did nothing special. Very weird.
Thanks anyway!

[Q] Sony Xperia P problem while watching videos in landscape mode..

Hello guys.
So I got my Xperia P around 3 months ago and I didn't have any problems until today.
Long story short the picture is all messed up in full screen landscape mode.
So I wanted to watch a video and as soon as the video started playing I realised that something was wrong.
Here's the deal, when I open any kind of video (even on youtube) my screen starts going all crazy and you can't see anything, but if you go into the settings the screen becomes clear for a second. Watching videos in a small window on youtube is possible , but full screen landscape mode , not a chance, I don't get it, why is this happening? It looks like it's zoomed in like 500% , the sound is all fine but the picture is just broken. If I try to play a game like GTA SA it works all fine so the screen isn't broken or anything , it's just that you can't watch videos , and that's kind of stupid.
Did you have a problem like this or do you know what might be the reason this problem appeared?
I tried clearing the memory in the apps , but nothing seems to be helping , so I'm asking you guys do you know how to fix this? I'm running the 4.1.2 JB official update.
Thanks
Do a factory reset!
I think it's the only way to resolve your problem

[Q] After 5.0.2 update i cant watch any videos anymore after 2 hours after restart

As title, after around 2 hours after restart there always comes, this video cant be played. Any app, facebook, youtube, the sony video player, nothing works, just BS Player works in software mode.. but that doesn't solve the facebook or any other apps problem
EDIT: forgot the question tag, how can i change it?
Happens to me too since yesterday, very annoying, you can't even record videos...
Try to flash stock firmware

I am on stock firmware, flashed via flashtool/emma several times, nothing helps
Have you tried a different firmware? It may be a fault on the one you are flashing

Volume Keys Stops Video playback

Hi guys,
I had this problem with my z1 which was hard bricked. But I have this now on my z2 and it drives me crazy.
Whenever I try to volume down when I watch a video or playing a game or on many apks, it stops the video. It's obviously caused by an apk but I don't know which one. I'm in safe mode now. I played a video on YouTube apk and the problem is gone. I factory resetted my phone two days ago. I'm on 5.1.1.
Do you have any idea what the issue could be?
New update on problem:
I thought it was about the hardware keys. No it's not. I installed notification volume control bar on my z2. Same problem keeps happening. I'm pretty sure it's a software related. Probably one coming with 3rd party. Everything is smooth in safe mode. I don't know which one causes it and I have no idea how to find it.
It's for sure software, as I never had this problem. Try freezing all apps that you think may do this (or maybe even all apps) and after checking if it's fine defreeze few apps every time and repeat this procedure. It takes some time, but it will help you find the app that is responsible for that.
PS. Don't forget to manually launch the apps after defreezing them.

I uninstalled a few media playing apps today. Then I restarted the phone. So far so good. ES Explorer, MX Player are the ones uninstalled.
Mx player doesn't cause this problem for me.

Then it should be ES Explorer. I haven't reinstalled either of them. I missed the peace of mind while playing media and games

Can't play videos.

Hello, i have an E5823 unlocked bootloader and rooted on marshmallow 6.0.1. I have installed xposed and framework version 86. I only have one problem, a pretty big problem. I can't play videos. In youtube "There was a problem while playing tap to retry" and how many times i press it doesn't matter, the video won't play. In twitter "playback error" in reddit it doesn't say anything but it just loads forever and never plays the video. In instagram i can't watch videos either. And sometimes i can't even record video. A fix is to restart but it lasts for like 5 minutes and then the problem is back. This is really frustrating.
hey there... i had this problem too, i`m still on 6.0.1 with unlockded bootloader and rooted.. i reinstaled another kernel and the problem was solved! hope it helps
