Below is a recovery flashable zip file containing a recompiled power.shamu.so that has the Nexus 6 double-tap to wake functionally enabled. The zip was created using the latest stable 5.1.1 AOSP source (LMY48I), and you don't have to be rooted in order to install it. A description of the two zip files can be found below:
Shamu_Power_Tap2Wake.zip – Zip file for installing the recompiled power.shamu.so with double-tap to wake functionally enabled.
Shamu_Power_Stock.zip – Zip file for installing the the stock power.shamu.so with double-tap to wake functionally disabled.
Before you proceed make sure your bootloader is unlocked and you have a custom recovery installed!
Install Instructions
1. Download and copy the selected zip file into your phone
2. Boot into a custom recovery
3. Flash the mod or stock zip
4. PROFIT!

Any1 tried on Android M?
It works, but my Nexus doesn't ask for my pin anymore. Unlocks straight to home screen.

Swipe to wake is a kernel feature I believe so I don't think it's possible without flashing a kernel that supports swipe to wake.

I also have been searching and waiting and hoping a developer can bring this up to M, I know it can be a one of our developers just has to take interest, I thought it was out there and I was just not looking at the right places, that still may be true, I hope a developer she's our posts and if not make the apk at least point us in the right direction.. :good:

Ubuntu Touch Developer Preview for the Fascinate
// It took me a while to get it right, but here it is.
//Camera works, wireless internet works.
Haven't checked sound.
Don't know if phone or SMS works.
Need testers.
//How to install: DO A BACKUP FIRST!
Get the zip here Then get this. Go to recovery, do a wipe/factory reset.
//Flash the first zip, don't reboot yet. Go to Mounts and Storage, mount /data and then format it or it won't work.
//Then flash the second zip and reboot.
//After you reboot, don't do an apt update. It seems to bork things up for me. Using adb on your computer, type 'phablet-flash -d grouper -b' (to update to the latest).
Enjoy.
The above is the old way. Thanks to UnjustifiedDev the new build is below:
"Ubuntu touch
1. Download bootstrap http://goo.im/devs/Unjust/Fascinate/...scinatemtd.zip
2. Download preinstall http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-tou...blet-armhf.zip
yes it is 300+mb make sure you have space on your sdcard for it
3. Download layout fix http://goo.im/devs/Unjust/Fascinate/...layout_fix.zip
4. Reboot to recovery wipe data etc then flash bootstrap file first the cm-10.1 zip then reboot recovery
5. in ubuntu's purple recovery flash the saucy zip takes a while to flash make sure your battery is charged
6. Flash layout fix right after saucy zip completes then reboot
7. Note this a preview not a daily driver it is pretty cool but it lacks full features. Wifi works idk if sound works or data my phone is not in service
Source https://github.com/Ubuntu-Fascinate I did fix the layout no need for an extra zip next build "
You are the man, Unjust!!
Remember, it's just a developer preview at this point. Not much you can do with it right now.
Redwolves (meandmine)

Since the Fascinate is not my daily driver, I have no way to test 3G or SMS. Anyone want to give a try and post your results?
Thanks, Redwolves
I will keep this updated as much as I can. I'll also put detailed instructions an my github page for anyone who wants to compile their own.

I followed the porting guide. Commented out AriesParts and Samsung-something-or-other in a makefile in /devices. Patched /kernel/samsung/aries/fs/proc/array.c and /kernel/samsung/aries/arch/arm/configs. I did some other other patches to a makefile in /build. I played with it for about a month using just the phablet-armhf.zip. I had it booting for about 15 seconds after a while. I was going through logcats and trying to trace them back to any warnings thrown during compilation.
Then I found out it uses the grouper image. Voila, instant boot. I left the changes in the source, though.

Hm, then would an alternative be trying to build ClockworkMod Recovery Touch until the button issues are solved?
Just throwing ideas out.
As mentioned before the select key does not work, also the resolution is huge and this makes the writing in recovery super small, the few lines available are like 3mm in height and almost impossible to read

Did i mess up the install? I got the multirom from the play store. Installed it. Downloaded the zip. Installed through TWRP, multirom. I selected "Android" and Share Kernel. Installed to internal memory. It installed and I can select it from the boot option but, it just hands where the google color dots spinning in circles. About 10mins.
Did I miss something? Could it be that i didnt do the kexec-hardboot patch?
I wanted to try the LTE on Tmobile.

Second dont't share kernel

For the lte test version i also get a bootloop even without sharing kernel and with kexec hardboot installed. Tried installing several times

LTE seems not work.
Did a complete new install in a MultiROM Slot of the version with LTE fix.
Boots up without issues for me, but LTE does not work.
It does not ask for the SIM Pin after startup, also no mobile data entries in the Settings.

My questions is where you guessing on the lte framework, because i thought there was no release code for the radio. Thats why only the FLO Android L was out there?
I appreciate the work, in another month or two we will finally get it. I kinda like it so far. But I appreciate the effort.

To my knowledge, only kernels and ROMs need to be bumped other than that you should be good.
I flashed it via TWRP, no problems at all. I will say I'm using the Jasmine ROM, so not stock. Not sure how much of a difference that would make, but I can confirm it works pretty well with no FCs.

Based on this post i've made this file to invert the MENU and BACK button on LineageOS 14.1
Instructions:
1- Flash the zip in recovery
2- Reboot
Before: ("BACK------HOME-----MENU")
After: ("MENU------HOME-----BACK")
It works fine! thanks! A2017U
I tried doing the editing myself on the generic.kl file nut I see that you did it in the synaptics.kl, i guess that's were I went wrong. Cheers!:highfive:

Excellent contribution to the thread! #Kidding. Seriously? What you should have done was kept this to yourself or move on. While this may not apply to you, and you can maunally fix it yourself.. that defeats the purpose of XDA and general android hacking. Trying to alter things that isn't otherwise stock and make it as easy as possible.
Thanks for the work OP. I was looking into figuring this out today but you beat me to it.

Yeah but it is already an option in Los so you dont even need to flash this just go to settings and under buttons change what they do. I don't mean to seem mean I'm just pointing out a blatant fact and that this is inefficient to reach your goal.

I installed the A2017LineageOS_N_Bootstack.zip on my axon7 G and now it stays at the ZTE boot logo. Is there any chance to install the A2017U_Nougat_Bootloader+ModemFix2.zip now ?

RR has SmartBar does it not? No need for the flashable zip then.
Go through and become familiar with the ROM's settings.
