i9300 with 0049 IMEI - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a i9300 that was stuck at boot with the "cannot mount efs partition" problem in the recovery.
Since i couldn't backup the efs folder for some reason i went ahead and formatted the efs folder. The phone now boots normally but i have an 0049 IMEI.
There are a lot of posts offering diferent solutions but since this a i9300 Exynos is there any way to write back the IMEI without using fancy box's, UARTS or dongles? Like manually writing the IMEI in the nv_data.bin
Regards.

flash Modem DDEMG2.zip to get your imei. Then flash Patched_XXUGMK6_modem.zip to get mobile network. For download links search it in google

I don't think that works since i formatted the efs and it's now the generic one.
I have no backup of the original and i have a exynos i9300
i searched the forums and it doesn't seem to be a solution since i cannot rewrite the original IMEI

i allready repaired 3 siii with fake imei and s/n 0000000000 with z3x but this cant repaire because have problem cant mount efs.
you didn't backup the folder? send it to service
i9300 have rom 4 file Exclusive of I9300ZSALED؟
I9300ZSALED is 4 file but cant be flashed
what
rom with 4 files (pda,bootloader,modem,csc)
No EFS backup you need a service centre .
Rest of your posts make no sense explain better .
jje
what's your point?
All you can do is restore a backup of youur efs or send it to service anything else is illegal in ky countey and is probably illegal in yours.
What you want to do (fake imei) cannot be discussed on xda. If yiu have corrupted your efs 3 times already I suggest you stop flashing, if you do it right you shouldn't corrupt it.

Why did you use a different EFS backup? The EFS folder contains the IMEI number specific to a certain device... You should've just let the phone to let dry overnight...

I actually got the EFS Backup from my I9300 and i push it to the phone, but still have the same, i got a ultrasonic cleaner for Pc's stuff and i clean, and the phone boot up again, it was dry already, but the base, imei etc.. doesn't work, and i just try to put the EFS Folder back, because it was empty, to see if the phone get the baseband and Imei back.
Afaik the nv_data.bin is encrypted with a device-specific key (cpuid?) so injection will fail. Note that it's also highly illegal, may cause you to get blacklisted by your provider and is a forbidden topic on xda.
one quick note though: If you are able to boot in recovery, read the nv_data log in /efs as it explains what exactly happened.

I already put his backup, but the error of "e:error mount /efs" (Files too large) it still without booting stuck on boot logo, with stock rom :S

Solution :
Flash MG4 modem (Find the file on the internet , download and extract to md5 file, flash with odin and you are fine) or did you back up your efs folder if yes restore it
simple as that

Samsung S III Imei corrupted

I've searched on google for solutions as I found the efs file which got corrupted. I've used this thread here trying to solve the issue. This is the thread I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859914 still the imei has not changed. It keeps on showing this IMEI-00499901064**** IMEI SV0*. Is these the what is causing the network not to respond. I have even used google to find solutions but still the imei is not changing. I even installed the modem mg4.tar file through odin and still network won't pickup. I even flashed back to 4.1.2 stock firmware and it didn't fix Imei. The imei was deleted before since it used to restart at the samsung logo then used adb commands to get the efs file remade or so. Now if the network is not picking up is it because of the imei. This is referring to gt-I9300......How can the imei be restored?
had a similar issue yesturday, luckily i took a backup of my efs folder before i started messing around with ROMs
if you dont have a backup its goodnight vienna, you will need to get it serviced

I got the efs files restored but the imei is corrupted. It just keeps on showing IMEI-00499901064**** IMEI SV0* how do I fix the imei, I even used google to search for solutions on how to repair corrupted imei but still the imei is not changing. Is there someone here who knows how to fix corrupted imei which is IMEI-00499901064**** IMEI SV0*. I coul'd send the efs folder and you can see how to solve it and then sent it back to me. If the imei woul'd return to the way it's suppose to be showing.I used this to restore my efs when it was saying it coul'd not mount it.
Restored efs using this guide below which I found on google after searching:
How to fix EFS not mounting :
Download and flash official firmware for your phone
Flash CWM recovery and root your device using recovery method.
Install ADB on your computer.
Boot your device into recovery mode
Connect your device to PC via USB cable
In recovery mode Choose “mount and storage > mount /system”
Open ADB command window and type :
adb shell
su
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
reboot
The thing is the imei won't change how to fix this I have flashe stock roms from 4.0.4, 4.1.2 and 4.3 rom still the imei just doesn't change. How to solve this?

I lost my s9+ IMEI NUM

I flashed to a custom ROM without making a copy of my IMEI
likely I found the num in the back cover of the phone
I wrote down in a notepad, Now could you please tell me how
to Rewrite it again into my phone
As it stands, first of all you should check whether your baseband is ok or unknown, if it is unknow; flashing stock firmware from Odin would fix it but if the baseband is ok and you have lost IMEI then you need your IMEI repaired by professional box like Z3X or tool like Chimera.
Nand Erase will do the trick

Try to flash through ODIN, enable Nand Erase next to default values Auto Reboot and F Reset Time.
Info
Google search: "getdroidtips nand erase Samsung"
Read section after "Installing Firmware with Odin NAND Erase Enabled"
Fixed my IMEI.
I always make EFS (IMEI) backup and it never helps me anyway when its break during flashing custom ROMs. What helps me usually is flashing modem and bootloader files.

That is indeed an option, but if you have not backed up EFS then a Nand Erase is the only recovery option.
Lost IMEI on my S9+ (SM-G965F).
Searched for solution for hours.
Eventually ended up with Nand Erase option checked in ODIN (v3.14.4).
