I did the reset button on the back and it wont fastboot now. have tried to clear all data in the recovery mode but it still has the same problem, see video:

My GPS has been crapping out so I'm trying to do a factory reset. Go through the steps and it just hangs on the little green android dude after I initiate the factory reset. Finally got the nerve to just power it down and restart and it boots to the home screen as though nothing happened . . .

Would you mind detailing what steps you went through?
I'm curious because it sounds like you did a factory reset through the rom you're running.
Ever attempt a factory reset and cache clear via CWM or TWRP (not sure of its proper acronym excuse the error)
HEY YALL...ok this cricket mercury m886 a customer brought in to do a factory reset but the hard reset from recovery doesnt do anything..just goes back to the pattern lock screen?? what gives? i tried many times, it says in recovert its completed and i did a wipe cache but still same results? any help will be highly appreciated!! thanks

I also had this problem with my friends tablet, It was an alcatel tablet, I was able to access recovery mode and I wiped data but nothing happened. My friend found a hole at the back of the tablet and inserted a push pin and there it is it was wiped! Maybe there's something like a button in your device to factory reset it?
Yesterday I'd left my phone in another room and when I went to get it before going to bed, it was stuck in a boot cycle. Originally I was able to access the recovery (4Ext recovery) and attempted a factory reset, but now I am unable to even boot in to recovery, and attempting a factory reset from the fastboot menu only sends it back in to a boot loop. Is there any way this is a software issue or battery issue rather than a memory issue? Anything else I should attempt?
factory ruu

was trying to do a downgrade, well phone is stuck in download mode... Tried to do a hard reset and it still is in download mode.. I did the required steps got in to the recover screen, choose factory reste, power button for ok, and same deal it stays in download mode..
Got it fixed... I think (maybe) I'm done with this downgrade attempt, not worth destroying my phone .
I hear you. Ignore what I just said in the other thread then, which is even more dangerous.
my tablet have been having issues, so i tried factory resetting it. Instead of resetting, it opened recovery mode. so i reboot it and it goes back to the same state it was before. i try to reset again, this time i perform a hard reset myself, nothing changes. goes back to the same state. i then flash it using sp flashtool and no changes occur it boots back up to the same state as it was before. i try to erase remotely using find my device and still the same thing happens, but now it keeps unmounting and erasing on reboot so there is this loop that is occuring every 50 seconds after reboot. please help.
