I think phone is bricked - Verizon LG G3

was trying to do a downgrade, well phone is stuck in download mode... Tried to do a hard reset and it still is in download mode.. I did the required steps got in to the recover screen, choose factory reste, power button for ok, and same deal it stays in download mode..

Got it fixed... I think (maybe) I'm done with this downgrade attempt, not worth destroying my phone .

I hear you. Ignore what I just said in the other thread then, which is even more dangerous.

[Q] Odin is flashing several hours...

I've flashed my Galaxy S2 with Odin several times and it has worked fine until yesterday, when I tried to flash again, and everything just froze.
I followed the normal instructions for flashing and the phone just stopped at the "downloading" screen where it says, "Do not turn of target!!".
So it has been, for several hours now. The Odin window on my computer seems to be waiting... but for what? Will it ever time out?
Is it normal that a flash session can take several hours?
Is it safe to interrupt it?

Odin will flash, takes less than 5 minutes.
Is there any data running that you can see? I mean at the bottom left. I would suggest you turn off the phone, battery pull, wait for 5 minutes, and reflash back.
If it semi bricked, use JIG to revive it.
Either way, you can't be letting the phone there for the next few days etc right?
Did you click Start in Odin??
Although i don't have an s2(will be getting one soon) did you try to reset your pc? When i was flasing my sgsl i was stuck in this situation where odin seems to freeze everytime. I restarted my pc and poof, flashed without a problem
Edit: was flashing successful? If so maybe you should follow the instruction from the post below.

This might sound stupid but did you have 'auto-reboot' checked? It happened to me once even though I have flashed hundreds of times. Odin was still open after flashing a kernel and never reset.
Start was clicked - yes.
Re boot was checked - yes.
I reset my computer and restarted my phone and - now it's still frozen, but with an icon on the center showing three icons in a line. First is a phone, second is a exlamation mark and third is a computer. Yiipiiiee. It doesn't boot. I can't get into recovery mode. Download mode does work however, but still the same behaviour. It freezes if I try to flash it.
Now what? Where is that reset-button which resets the phone and clears its brain down to original mode? A simple "brain wash" would be nice.
Is there anyway out of this "freeze of death" ?
Flash CWM kernel, download CM7 rom, copy it on SDCard (mount USB storage in CWM, connect to PC via USB, copy ROM), flash ROM from CWM

Try to go into recovery mode and factory reset and clear cache and try flashing again (make sure you are on download mode)

Hold power button to off it (hold a lil longer for this).
Then Go into recovery mode (power, home button and volume up at same time). Try do wipe all data, cache and even dalvik. Reboot and see if that works.
Alternatively, at the same place, go into restore backup.

Recovery mode doesn't work - nope. But thanks anyway. It's nice to see that people at least try to help. Big hugs to you all.
If I try to flash CWM, I come into the same freeze again. Mindbending stuff ala Samsung, huh. They clearly don't make idiot-safe products. I'm stuck. My next phone might be a StarTAC...
Has happened to me before. KIES was opened. I closed all KIES files and the flashing fun started again~
Good point, make sure Kies isn't running when using Odin!
Also, now that you've flashed CWM, can't you boot on it?
Kies is not running and whatever I flash - it freezes. The green progress bar in Odin reaches maybe 1 cm, but no blue progress bar is visible on the phone as usually happens when flashing. It just says, "Downloading... Don't turn off target!!"
Am I slowly heading towards the brutal-axe-method?
Sounds like the NAND is damaged to me, but I'm no expert...
"NAND" means? Why does it sound like it's damaged? How can it get repaired?
NAND is the flash chip (internal sdcard). Seems that its damaged because you're unable to fully flash it.
I don't think you can have that repaired (if the NAND is truly damaged, like I said I'm no expert), you'd have to get the phone replaced.
With all respect, let's hope you aren't an expert, but better. But has anyone else interrupted a flash process and went though a "freeze"?
I'm looking for a way to reset the phone to use only what was burnt into ROM from first delivery. I just can't accept that it is so easy to mess up a phone, and I doubt Samsung would be so crazy not to build it with a rescue kinda last savior. Am I totally naive? Is my baby dead? :'(
lol I hope for you that I'm wrong also!

Something similar had happened with me too. The phone was stuck b/w flashing with odin. And the startscreen was showing those 3 icons. It was soft bricked.
But I then finally fixed it by flashing CF and then a ROM

[Q] Vodafone 858 bricked after rooting with Z4root?

Hiya,
I "permanant" rooted my vodafone 858 with z4 root.. and when it turned itself to reboot, it got stuck on the vodafone logo..! The phone won't load, and the vodafone logo repeditely comes up....
Does this mean that my phonen is bricked and I should chuck it away?? Is there anyway to fix it? Please help!!!
Its not bricked, its stuck in the bootloop. Bricked means doesn't turn on, doesn't vibrate, doesn't respond at all. Don't throw it away, try booting into recovery, possible holding volume down while turning the phone on. If you can load into recovery you might be able to flash a recovery rom. But since I do not own that phone, I do not know.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Hmm... I don't seem to able to boot into recovery.... I have tried turning the phone on while holding the power up/down but it doesn't seem to do the trick... is there any way to get into the system?
Use a jig to get into download mode. I have use that method with 100% success.
Once you get into download mode you can use odin to get back to stuck.
Here is the jig link if you needed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889128
good luck.
Oh... is there any other method other than jig?? It looks really complicated.!!!!!
well you might think it is complicated but that is the easiest solution besides trying key combinations to enter into download mode.
I build a jig yesterday to help one of my friend that got his phone soft bricked and I can tell you is not that hard. It's just 3 100k ohms resistors that you shape into a tear drop and then touch the two connectors on the micro usb closes to the phone jack... It can't get any simpler than that.
I now it might sound crazy but that is the easiest way I know.
good luck.
Sorry to resurect an old thread but i had the same problem and found this thread... I fixed this with a muuuuuuuch simpler solution... While the phone is looping the animation just user SUPER1CLICK to unroot the phone... the phone will crash when this is finished and leave u with a black screen... remove battery, wait a few secs and replace and it will boot just fine

Stuck on Sony Logo - Possible Hard Brick?

So I may have screwed up my phone. I wanted to do a complete fresh install and wiped all the partitions in TWRP (except external and usb).
Then before I got a chance to flash the rom my phone died (didn't realise my battery was low I know my fault).
Now it wont boot past the sony logo and I cant shutdown the phone. holding power does nothing tried holding it for over 30 seconds still nothing.
The phone has been stuck at the sony logo for over an hour and is starting to get very very warm.
Does anyone know how I can shutdown the phone to prevent damaging the battery/cpu? Have I hard bricked the phone? I hope flash tool can detect the phone at the sony logo because I can't shutdown to even boot to flash mode
I Do not have access to a computer at the moment.
Thanks in advance.

Hold Power and Volume Up. That should shut the phone off. If that doesn't work, try the off switch next to the USB Port.
When you do get access to a computer, download SUS and do a software repair to restore your phone to stock (only for locked bootloader). Alternately, you can download a stock .ftf file for your Z2 and flash it via flashtool.
Your phone is not hard-bricked, it is soft bricked. Hard Bricked means that the phone turns into an expensive paperweight dummy handset.
Hope this helps

Force reset it like here: http://userguide.sonymobile.com/ref...product=xperia-z1#!Resetting-your-device.html
and do a factory reset. Go to recovery -> wipe data/ factory reset.
EDIT: or flash again your rom / kernel.

You are a life saver bro I been trying to figure out how to force off the phone for an hour tried every button combo except volume up for some reason (think I tried it but didnt work prolly wasn't actually pushing the button)

Thanks again bro just happy its a soft brick.

METROPCS L7/LGMS323 - I need some serious help getting it back working.....

a friend gave me this phone because they couldnt get it to go passed the 4glte splash logo, and i know a lil about this stuff so they figured if i can get it to work i can keep it whatever....
anyway, I just cant seem to catch a break, ive chased threads of all different forums high and low......
Im wondering if anybody can point me out on a successful route to take, with the following info:
So regular boot, sometimes stays on LG logo, sometimes gets to the blue 4glte splash, and than just loads the first part of that logo on repeat.
I cant boot into RECOVERY, at ALL.
HARD RESET makes it all the way to selecting yes and than telling me RESET IN PROGRESS....but still nothing happens after 30Min+
DOWNLOAD MODE is accessable but I feel like whoever had phone lasted was installing some crappy roms and such because its not the original download mode for this phone, it says DOWNLOAD MODE, PRESS AND HOLD VOLUM UP UNTIL YOU ENTER DOWNLOAD MODE. .... Yes it says VOLUM, I dont see LG making that error...and plus i should alrdy be in download mode at that point....but of course holding it longer stil doesnt work.
So here I am , NO RESET, NO RECOVERY, NO DOWNLOAD, NOT EVEN SURE IF PHONE IS ROOTED, I THINK IF ANYTHING IT WAS A UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT BY SOMEONE , NOT SURE IF USB DEBUGGING IS ON..... CANT GET PHONE FAR ENOUGH BOOTED TO BE ABLE TO HAVE ANY PC USB RECOGNIZE IT, THEREFORE I CANT ATTACH TO PC AND DO ANYTHING , IT NEVER SHOWS UP ON DEVICE LISTS....
So that being said.... is there anybody that might be able to point me out to a thread, or lend me some knowledge?
Thanks if youve read this whole post ! I appriciate your time!

Samsung j6 soft brick problem

Hi guys, I have a samsung galaxy j600fn/ds, tryed to flash twrp, something went wrong and now I'm locked on the ''Samsung'' logo screen
I guess it is brick, though I'm totally stuck at the screen, the phone won't even turn off, so I don't know how to acces download mode to install stock firmware.. anyone can be of help?
EDIT: solved.. of course the solution was just to wait for the battery to be completley depleted, I just got scared there not beeing able to do anything
Wait-
So you just let your phone in bootloop all night (?), then you charge it without turning it on,
waited till 30%, and then you put it in download mode and installed the firmwere?
Does it really work? 'cause I tried to do that before, and the bootloop stopped. I tought I ended up into an hard brick.
I pressed powen and tried to put the phone into download mode, but nothing.
I put the usb on my pc, and odin was actually reading it, so I tried again and again to get into the download mode.
Afret 30 minutes, i pressed power again, (and finally) the boorloop restarted.
Well um.. the phone now is probably at 60%.. I hope it wont stop again, and I hope this method will work.
