Hello. Has anyone tried rooting the s6 edge 5.1.1 with kingroot and does the rooting process itself trigger the knox bit? i'm not trying to install a custom recovery or rom just get some apps to have root permissions... for now.
Sorry if I missed some threads about this, searched for it and haven't found anything..which doesn't give me much hope actually
It will work but will trip Knox
Bummer, thanks, i'm gonna stay away from it then and try the method that breaks the fingerprint scanner for now

anyone rooted their i9200 on 4.4.2 with knox, using CF Auto root ? or any other method actually (and what method did you use)
Just wanna see if this method is successful, as I've heard some folks say it's not possible with knox. Wanna keep it stock if it's not possible.
thank you!
Guys, remember back in the days of HTC Desire HD, LG G2, where the "visionary method" provided for a temporary root that is active until you reboot? Or perhaps more recently, towelroot? Well I'm not a developer, so please forgive me if the question is naive, bordering on dumb.
I'm wondering if this could be the stop-gap between, saving your precious Galaxy S6 / S6 edge "root" virginity for the sake of the fabled Samsung Pay? Assuming that the temporary root will NOT trip KNOX-counter (I'm not sure I'm using the right term).
Thought it will be interested to find out! I tried searching for a plausible / existing solution but couldn't find something like that. Maybe @Chainfire might have an idea on how this might be achievable.

as of now u can not just temp root u can temp un-root but not visa versa......wish it was still that easy...I have tried that already and it does not work with the tmobile s6 edge
The big problem is that you need to find an android exploit to gain root as towel root did. Towel root did not trigger the knox efuse on the s5. so yes if one day there is an exploit you can gain root without Knox being triggert. (Assuming Knox is working like on the s5). You could even install different Roms via mobile odin. Just no recovery or bootloader.
But without an exploit there is no way to "secretly" gain root.
I own a galaxy S6 edge Sm-G925i. I'm on android 5.1.1 ODJ6 and I've been told that rooting my phone will brake the fingerprint scanner. Also, the edge screen will stop working. Is there any way to avoid this? Also avoid knox security tripping? Thanks in advance guys.

Hey guys,
Please excuse my lack of knowledge here, however I am very new to all of this 'Flashing', 'Custom roms' and so on.
My issue is that no matter what I try I cannot get Xmodgames or other particular software to run properly due to SE Enforcing.
Phone Model: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925F) - Marshmallow 6.0.1
Running custom rom CF-Auto-Root-zerolte-zeroltexx-smg925f.tar
I have super SU installed and it does grant permission, however it still does not work. I have spent hours researching ways around the issue. For example using Terminal Emulator, however I just get the error (Could not set enforce 0 permission denied.)
I have read that you can flash a custom kernel, however I am having trouble finding the correct one. I do not want to brick my phone. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks
P.s Have been trying to work this out since 3am! -.-
As the title states, I'm trying to root my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge G925W8 (Telus i think?), trying to install custom firmware, trying to unlock my bootloader, etc etc. but every darn tutorial or resource I've found has referenced doing one or the other as a prerequisite or just doesn't work, and I really can't seem to figure out how to do any of this. I've gotten pretty much to the end of my patience with google so I ask for your help, anyone who is willing, please if you could help me figure out how to achieve all of this I would be extremely grateful
try twrp

Download the correct twrp from here
https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys6edge.html
Flash twrp through Odin, once twrp installed and boots, flash the magisk zip through twrp and that's it. Very easy. You fill find the latest magisk here on XDA also instructions on flashing twrp
