Were you on Honeycomb or ICS when you flashed CWM? There are stock recoveries available for both and they are not cross-compatible.
Attached is stock HC recovery (from an international firmware) and stock ICS recovery (from Springboard update).

[Q] CWM Flash problems

So right now i am using TWRP 2.5 for the htc one v (cdma) and wanted to switch to CWM touch but when i download it from ClockWorkMod's website it gives me a zip file (so i cant fastboot flash it) and when i install it through my recovery it loads it up once but then the next time i boot into recovery it's back to twrp. Can someone tell me why it's doing this and can help me get the CWM recovery to stick?

[Q] how to uninstall twrp and cwm recovery?

Hello Friends,
I have got twrp and cwm recovery installed in my phone. When i start my phone in recovery it runs in cwm recovery and when i reboot my phone iit runs twrp instead of my rom.I tried wiping the data through cwm recovery, but with no success.I have got stock jb installed on my phone. Please help.
You saying that phone cant boot ? Try to flash again the recovery you want (Flash the right recovery! For Hboot 1.24 flash ics, for 1.25 flash jb) then go to recovery) Or just flash the stock recovery ? You can find it in the forum.

Sounds to me like you flashed JB recovery on ICS hboot.

You installed twrp to boot partition, that's why it boots directly into twrp (using fastboot flash boot twrp.img) You need to flash TWRP to recovery partition (using fastboot flash recovery twrp.img). Then enter recovery, install ROM, and flash boot image to boot partition (fastboot flash boot boot.img).

thank you for your help.i flash boot boot.img file and twrp got replaced.but i have come up with a new problem now.my phone is s- on and its not accepting the rom which i downloaded from here(2.20.401.5_Deodexed). i thought because my phone is s-on it might accept the original jb rom(ROM_JB_STOCK_HTC_DESIRE_X_INDIA_HTC__038) but still even this version is not installing. so now my phone is not having any rom.what should i do???

i flashed the rom v1.3 by dual recovery and rom working great but i cant enter dual recovery any more
i tried install the dual recovery again but phone boot to rom no led light cant enter recovery

Can't boot into recovery or fastboot after attempting to flash stock recovery

I was running into issues with my phone where it wasn't booting, then I flashed a new rom and it only booted into TWRP so I decided to delete my recovery and flash the stock image using ADB. I deleted my recovery, flashed the stock image and then did fastboot reboot. This is where the problem began, it is now stuck in a boot loop and I am unable to get into recovery or fastboot via power and volume buttons. Anyone got any ideas?
