I build a minimal android distribution using a modified mako build(with embedded.mk instead of full aosp). When i tried to test this image on the emulator i run into the problem that the kernel cannot mount my system partition[1]. I started the emulator with "emulator -show-kernel -data userdata.img -ramdisk ramdisk.img @nexus4"(both images are from my build and the configuration is for nexus4). So how can i test my custom build?

I exchange all files(taken from android build). Also this configuration stops during the boot. Now i get a nice kernel panic[1].

Hi,
Just a few questions. I have had a bit of experience with flashing roms (CyanogenMod, LineageOS etc) on the (Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 5 etc) but I haven't done it with a Motorola phone before. I am having some difficulty. It was a lot easier with those phones I bought a Motorola Moto C XT1758 (2018-04-17 date on box) it was bought not from any carrier or on a plan and therefore is unlocked from any carrier.
I have had trouble getting the scatter file. I set up my environment [TUTORIAL]How to setup SP_Flash_Tool_Linux (MTK/MediaTek Soc) with this guide. I am using Ubuntu 18.04.
I looked at [GUIDE][UTIL][MT65xx] Create Scatter File / Dump Full ROM For any MT65xx device, no matter how obscure

I think that requires me to have a recovery ROM. I found that Motorola's Recovery Images are only for the Droid Maxx, Moto G, Moto X and XOOM. They also say you need a "Moto Pure Edition or a Developer Edition device."

I haven't yet tried this [Tutorial] How to create scatter file for Mediatek devices but it looks fairly recent. I am guessing as my phone is fairly recent and has MT6735 the old method using MTK Android Devices won't work. The guide for doing this with [Tutorial] How to use Wwr_MTK + SP Flash tool to backup Mediatek rom is there. Apparently there is an alternative way [Tutorial] How to get length addresses for full ROM dump using PGPT, Wwr_MTK & SP Flash Tool.
It would be nice if there was a way to do this without Windows. Any tips or insight you can provide would be welcome.
So I tried with MTK Droid Root & Tools and obviously my phone is too new to work with it.
For some reason it thought I had a MT6737M which seems to contradicts what I got from "sudo fastboot getvar all", that said I had a MT6735 in my Moto C (XT1758).

So I tried [Tutorial] How to use Wwr_MTK + SP Flash tool to backup Mediatek rom from my previous post.
So my next step was to try with the WwR_MTK_v2.30 tools. I exported a MT6735_Android_scatter.
I read this process requires you to remove the battery from the phone and power it off.
I went to the "Readback" tab in Smart Phone Flash Tool v5.1820.000 after putting the scatter-loading file in. I clicked Add, double clicked on the entry and saved ROM_0 to my desktop.

So finally I decided to try with the version MT6737M that MTK Droid Root & Tools suggested was my chip. I did get a different error with that, not surprising it didn't work.

Solution! I had to use a custom DA file. See [Tutorial][Recovery] Flash TWRP on Moto C (namath) with locked bootloader
Additionally I used WwR_MTK_2.40_Eng.zip to make a basic skeleton scatter. After using the Custom DA, not that All in One that comes with SPFlashtool I was able to extract EMMC_BOOT_1 and then EMMC_USER.

might be possible. All Android partitions are visible and mountable in linux. I guess you can't make changes to system partition, as android has protections in place that will revert previous system state, but I'm sure there are ways around it.
did a stupid thing, after Oreo update on my MiBox S MDZ 22 AB everything went down, wifi connection drops in every 10 seconds, so I used a version of android from a MDZ-16 on a stick and tried to flash on a tutorial found on the web. It started to flash for a few seconds and total brick!
Now when I plug it, have no signal on hdmi, no led on front, nothing. (
Can I restore the life in the box or no? Is it totally lost?
Are there any test points for MDZ 22 AB?

Your board is not mdz-22-ab, so I can't help you with that. I have tried lots of contact points before I discovered right ones. Don't be affraid to experiment, you will find correct pins eventually.

You can successfuly boot any s905x image from yadi.sk that uses same kernel version. some of them have kodi preinstalled, but drivers for wifi and sound do not work, so it's not very practical.

all information on mdz-16-ab is also applicable to mdz-22-ab, as those boxes are very simmilar.

I new in the rforum and need support.
I think I crashed mz mdy-22ab bz upadting new version via USB, since this i cannot enter reoverz mode.
I followed the describtion to enter via UART and Putty and got the following.
Due the fact that i am not an expert i don^t know wht the puttz.log means.
Maybe some experts in the forum can help me.

Is there any chanse for second lif of my AXON 7? I had had implemented - A2017G_O_system_permission_enable and A2017G_B03_OREO. After that i tried unlock bootloader by TurkDevs Images via MiFlash? The process has passed without errors and then phone restarted but with black screen, without led light. Device menager still showing phone as hs-usb qdloader 9008. I tried full flash OREO EDL but failed there were some errors in logfile. Can anyone help me read logfile? Maybe there is something i can hook i reanimate my phone? Probably i made a terrible mistake. Probably i made a terrible mistake but i hope it is revertable. Please help me. Any advice wil be appreciated
