I have a spreadtrum china phone(knew that from windows device manager when plugging the phone through USA) which is a S4 clone. It boots fine, goes to the home screen and keeps flashing. I just can't do anything with it. There's no key combination that would load recovery options. I have tried all key combinations.
what should I do to fix it? If I need to flash a rom, please let me know... I am kinda new to all of this and have been reading for 4 days so far.
please advise.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys.....
This is pretty much my first thread . I have got a Chinese android tablet called HSG MIDX5A Telechips Tcc 8902 (a.k.a. Herotab RK7, Pandawill G11 1st model) with ARM1176J2 chip.
What I did yesterday is that I tried to get it into recovery mode and then somebody on IRC assisted me to flash the tablet with the recovery image using fastboot and then I got the recovery mode <3e> working but I was not able to navigate through the recovery menu using the home, back and menu buttons. However I do not have any Vloume up /down keys with this tablet .
BUT this is not my problem now. After I failed to navigate through the recovery menu I decided to flash a new lk.rom file using FWDN V7 2.13 and that went fine but as you guys know I need to flash the tcc8902_mtd.img after that. Here is the problem I want to get into the FWDN mode to flash the tcc8902_mtd.img but I`ve been trying since yesterday and I was not able to go into FWDN mode. My tablet is not booting too normally. I`ve tried to make the splash screen "I love you " to still there but no hope. I`ve tried the home+power button and also power+touch the center of the screen also did not work too. Whenever I release my finger out of the power button it just turn off.
So please what do you guys suggest ???
Alternatve method ?
I heard about USB Host boot mode or is it no longer needed even in my case ?
What about this ?
I am really sure that I flashed the right rom.
Again I am really struggling on how can I put the tablet in FWDN mode, however I tried the combination you just mentioned and it did not work for me . Yeah something happened to me yesterday that I tried to push the middle of the screen but firmly and really hard at the same time I hold the power button and finally the splash screen"I love you" freezed as it should be but I was not able to get it detected by FWDN V7 2.13 ? Am I doing something wrong ?Should I switch to windows xp 32 bit ? I am using windows 7 64 bit which I had to hack the drivers in order to get the tablet detected at the first beginning before I flashed the lk.rom file so please help
I've spent hours trying to figure out how to get out of the boot loop but nothing works. I just get the logo on the screen. I wanted to flash a new os image to the rom, but now my computer cannot find the device at all. As an FYI, it has no volume button for doing a hard reset, it has a power button, an esc button and a reset pinhole. I have not found a combination that will get me out of this loop! HELP! (ps not a complete noob when it comes to computers but not far from it)
thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give me
Need a bit more info to try and be helpful

What tool(s) did you use to try and flash it (presume PhoenixSuite) ?
Where did the image(s) come from and for what device(s) were they originally targeted?
Do you by ANY chance have the stock recovery image? If so, you could try to re-flash IT and at least get back to a device that will BOOT.
Hello Guys,
Please help, S6 Edge phone suddenly died and when I turn it back on it's stuck on boot up and the samsung logo is overlapping like it's program was corrupted. Also, pink flashing light is appearing on the notification light (upper left). have held down Vol Up, Home Button and Power for 5 mins, and it still just shows that same screen above. I then press Vol Down, Home Button and Power for apporx 10 seconds but still to no avail.
Does anyone of you experienced this kind of issue? Tried searching from different forums but to no avail. I think I am the first one to encounter this Please advise if this is hardware or software issue and if possible the first action I will do. Will be very grateful for your kind response.
Please email me if you have experienced this type of issue and for further details: [email protected]
Thank you so much and best regards
Same here - bootloop at Samsung logo and no recovery. Flashed countless times with Odin , whole rom , recoveries , kernels . Recovered with Smart Switch , still nothing even when all procedures where successful. It looks like is a hardware problem.

Dear Sir/Mdm,
This is Linn Myanmar and I am from Myanmar, Stayed in Singapore, working as an engineer.
I just bought my phone (Elephone S8) one week before and I tired rooting with tutorials from XDA forum (using flash tool, driver).
Yes, the phone has been rooted properly as root checker said and I tried installing Updated SuperSU from setting>About Phone>System Update>Local Updates>Updated SuperSU.zip.
After that the phone has rebooting with logo and never show any result and the phone just happened the screen on and off repeatedly until now.
So that please help me how to solve this and get back to its normal operation. I've tried long pressing on power button, long pressing on power button+volume up button, long pressing on power button+volume up button+volume down button quite many time, but those doesn't work and the phone hasn't come back it's normal operation.
Help me please.
With Best Regards,
Linn Myanmar

Hi Linn
How did you solve your problem?
Hi have exactly the same problem at this moment and, as you, I tried everything (except the hammer but it was close...)
Really need a solution for this!
I like the phone but this way I have to buy another one and other brand for sure...
Thanks (from Portugal)
I suppose you both solved this, one war or other, but maybe someone else looks for a solution to this.
As the S8 is a MTK-phone, it's never really "dead" until it's defective. You can always revive it. So stay cool.
All you need is a Windows-PC with working VCOM-drivers, the SP-Flash-Tool and a ROM. You can get all that on www.elephone.hk/downloads (at least until today... if it's no longer there, you need to google for all that).
The problem is to shut the phone off.
Of course you can just let it boot-loop until the battery is empty, if you can take the time.
Otherwise there's no simple and foolproof way to shut it off if it's in loop.
Try everything you can imagine with the three buttons. Especially pressing the power-button for "ages". Try pressing any volume-button simultaneously, too. I had my S8 bricked to bootloop several times yesterday and today, while fiddling around with all ROMs I could find.
Sooner or later I got the phone to shut off. I somehow got it into the testing-menu, too, which is yellow and chinese and which won't help you.
I even somehow managed to boot into recovery several times, which offers "shutdown"-option. I have the impression that the S8 enters recovery eventually when it fails to boot often enough, but that's just a guess.
Anyway, once the phone is off, you have won.
Start the SP-Flash-Tool, load the scatter-file from your desired ROM (which is probably 20171018), unplug the phone, press "download", and then plug the phone to USB. You might have to press vol+ oder vol- while plugging it in, but if it's recognized, the SP Flash Tool will start flashing the ROM and your phone is up and running again.
Problem solved
I think this is too complex anyway.
The battery was empty after some days.
It was too bad lose so many information but I had to live with that.
So, finally the hammer solve the problem in less then a second...
Thank you very much. Is nice to know there are people helping to solve some problems.

Please also find all required files for rooting the Elephone S8 at:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/k1ldc..._root.rar/file
I hope this helps.
To turn phone off, hold all 3 buttons for about 15 seconds the phone will look like it's powering down but then restart after about 2 seconds just KEEP holding all 3 buttons and it will power off properly. In other words hold all 3 buttons for about 45 secs to power down if in a boot loop. Once powered down hold volume down whilst plugging into USB to flash.
Im sorry if this isnt the correct subforum, cant find one better as im new and in panic.
I have an Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 (10) 8079
Recently tried to install a custom recovery with this tut: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67953659&postcount=1944 and everything was OK till it finished and then powered OFF device as there was nothing more to do...
Now it doesnt pass the start screen "Alcatel One touch powered by android" with this https://i.imgur.com/RhN9hoM.jpg IN A LOOP.

You have wrong twrp image. I had also this problem (like in your picture) and I find another twrp image and put it and now everything is OK.
If you want to use SP Flash tool you must install MTK USB Vcom drivers and also it is not bad to have Mobile_Upgrade_S_Gotu2_v5.0.6 installed (because of drivers).
