How can I root this?

no need to root the device to install the Lollipop update.
Only we need the CWM and install the CWM recovery image through ADB flash boot.
Just backup the system and install the new update.
IT ends with a status 14 error and shows the installation aborted .... message.
No problem just reboot the device to enjoy the new update.

To revert into STOCK ROM
To revert back to stock do the following:
1) install the ADB tools into your p.c.,
2) copy the recovery.img (download it from mediafire) into the installed ADB folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB) ,
3) copy the stock/Updated ROM into the SD card of your device,
4) install the lenovo drivers if not installed already and connect your device to the pc and run the following commands at the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB " folder
i) adb devices (to check the device is connected or not)
ii) adb reboot Bootloader (boots the device into Bootloader / Fastboot Mode),
iii) fastboot boot recovery.img , ( to install the CWM into the device, but it lasts for next reboot only),
iv) within the CWM run the commands,
wipe dalwick cache ,
wipe/factory reset including the 'system' ,
v) now choose the option "install zip " from the CWM and choose " install from external SD card" and select the STOCK Rom / LOLLIPOP Rom and press yes to install the ROM,
vi) after getting the "installation finished " message, now reboot the device to get the installed ROM.:

To root the device , just copy the root-SuperSU.xxx.zip file into the SD card and update the zip file within the CWM environment and roboot the device.

You could install from MobileUncle Tool:
Extract from zip file: recovery.img
Put the img file on your media storage NOT ON YOUR SD CARD!
Open MobileUncle Tool
Go to Recovery Update;
You will find there recovery image
Patch.
Second way is:
If you have allready CWM installed
Copy zip file on your phone
Restart to recovery
Patch zip file.
Hope this will help you.

There is no boot.img file there. Recovery.img is the file you must extract and patch.

Me not rooted but flashed CWM S1 with Fastboot and worst tried to insert files to system.img and even overwrite that partition, in turn the phone is just booting only upto boot logo, If you are in position to extract boot.img then please try and upload here. That can be used to build CWM working for our device. If any body gets flash files for S1 plus from service centre then best. We can easily build CWM.

Please check you message box. Have given you the details.
Two ways:
1. ADB way. Start adb after connecting phone to PC and type adb devices. If device is shown Titanium then type in cmd "adb reboot bootloader" phone will reboot in fastboot mode.
2. Key combinations: switch off the phone. Press power button and volume up button simultaneously till you see boot logo. connect to PC and see in device manager, you will see a device called Karbonn bootloader interface under title: Karbonn devices.
Try to extract boot.img as per the method given in message box .

INSTALL TWRP AND ROOT LENOVO P1M
Check this first.
a) Take backup of your important data at safe place.
b) Device must adequately charged.
c) Install USB drivers (MTK USB ALL + MTK VCOM DRIVER) to your PC. (For Windows) (Extract the driver zip and read the ReadMe.txt to install Usb Drivers)
Install TWRP
Follow the steps below.
Note : Use only TWRP 3 if your device is New Version or else your device will face some problem.
1) Download Sp Flash Tool and TWRP3 then Extract the Flash Tool & TWRP. – Then open " flash_tool.exe ".
2) Select " MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt ". It will locate in TWRP 3 folder.
3) Click Options on the top left side of the Flash Tool then check Download and make sure both of them are checked.
4) Select the " Download Only " to flash recovery.
5) Now just click on checkbox recovery and browse to the extracted files and locate " recovery.img ".
6) Turn off your Lenovo Vibe P1m
7) Click the big Download button on top right and connect the phone with usb cable in switch off condition.
8) Now you will see the red stripe showing download percentage.
9) Your phone is successfully installed TWRP now.
Steps to enter Recovery mode in Lenovo VIBE P1m :
1) Press and hold the Volume Down Button + Power Button.
2) When you see the Boot Screen, Release the Buttons.
3) Select Recovery mode using Volume Down.
4) Press Volume Up to Enter Recovery mode.
Note : When you flash recovery, do not switch on the device directly or else the recovery will replace by stock recovery.
Now TWRP recovery is installed on your Lenovo Vibe P1m.
Root Lenovo Vibe P1M
After installing TWRP on Lenovo Vibe P1M, follow the given steps to root it.
1) Download SuperSU from here.
2) Place the downloaded SuperSu zip in your external SD card.
3) Boot into Recovery Mode.
4) Click the Install menu on TWRP.
5) Browse the SuperSu zip you've downloaded and install it.
