Samsung galaxy s3 not booting after being flashed by a rom - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Model : Samsung galaxy s3 GT19300
I was using s5 sensation rom for my s3 gt19300 but was facing some problems. So i swithed to Glamour s5. The flashing process was successfully done (i wiped all cache, dalviks cache). Now when i start the phone the samsung logo appears and then the screen remains blank. Now i cant start my phone. Tried flashing the same file several times yet no progress( phone can start in recovery mode). Now i dont have any backup of the previous roms on my phone and cannot access phones internal memory as phone is not starting up. * Is there any way by which i can paste the previous rom on my phones internal memory and flash that? Or any other process using odin or anything so that i can get my phone back:crying:*
Tried various times by removing battery for a long time and flasing again and clearing cache and dalviks cache.
Any way to read phoneinternal memory on PC in recovery mode to paste the previous rom file.
Thanks in advance

download stock firmware from sammobile flash it with odin. after flashing stock rom boot into recovery wipe data, reboot system. It will boot
before flashing any rom at first flash stock rom then flash the custom roms beacuse clean install is always better.
In recovery
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
flash the rom
reboot system :good:
I suggest you to try blekota note 3 lite rom

Actually your problem with glamour rom is just the kernel. After flashing the rom, don't reboot but flash appropriate kernel then you reboot.

there are boeffla, agni & arter's kernel. go check out in android development section, it's using archiport ported rom 4.4.2. just download the kernel for 4.4.2 & flash it after flashing the rom in recovery.

General steps before flashing a new ROM.
1. Backup your present ROM just incase
1. Wipe data/ factory reset
2. Wipe cache partition
3. Wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
4. Format /system (under mount)
5. Flash your desired Rom/zips
6. Fix permissions (under advanced)
Notes:
- If you are moving from from an AOSP ROM to Samsung (vice versa), perform all the steps above.
- If you are upgrading / downgrading from one android version to another e.g ICS to jellybean or 4.0.3 to 4.0.4, also perform all the steps above.
- If you are upgrading from a Samsung ROM to another wipe the same android version, you may skip step 1.
- if you are upgrading your Aosp/aokp Rom with another with the same android version e.g 4.0.4 Aosp to 4.0.4 aokp, you may also skip step 1.
*******Important******
If you are presently running a Samsung based 4.0.4 Rom that is using Samsung based kernel e.g CF-ROOT or stock kernel, please flash Siyah kernel before performing any of the above steps. You will end up with an unusable device if you don't adhere to this important information.

Based on the bold, you're in a bootloop. Try to wipe data/ factory reset, clear cache and dalvic in cwm recovery and it should work
Edit: and are you following the steps on the first post of the thread? The creator of the rom usually has step by step instructions on how to install the rom
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
darkside super wipe
can i just use darkside super wipe before installing a new rom is that good enough
I used to have the same problem too, the problem was with my kernel, if you can, go into download mode and flash stock ROM then root using siyah

Roms will not flash.

I have a galaxy S2 I9100M with bell mobility with ICS 4.0.3. It is rooted and running siyah kernel 4.1.2. And for some reason it will not flash ANY Rom. I do the whole wipe process. install the rom. and the phone just gets stuck on the Samsung screen. Won't boot into recovery only download mode? so i have to re flash my stock firmware through odin. I have tried many roms, all with the same outcome? I had previously flashed paranoid 4.1.1 and CM9 9.0.0 before but now it will not let me boot either. Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Sorry about that bro.
Visit this thread, for possible solution to your problem
Good luck
Something I do now after flashing a custom ROM is to "format /system" from the mount menu in recovery and also "fix permissions". Might be worth a try. Also, you could try removing folders on your SD card that contain data that are interfering with booting a custom ROM.
---------- Post added at 09:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:06 AM ----------
Sorry, I should clarify what I said above, as format /system is done prior to flashing. What I do is:
Wipe data/factory reset
Mounts and storage-> Format /system
Flash custom ROM
Wipe Cache
Advanced-> Wipe dalvik cache
Fix permissions
Reboot
Thank's for the responses. I have tried both options and neither work. I managed to flash cm9 through odin but the gapps won't flash threw cwm and the home button is unresponsive in the rom. Very frustrating.

Yea i noticed that. I'm just going to keep it stock I don't want to damage it worse then it is.

Endless bootloop. I´m going crazy, pls help me

Can anyone help me please ?
If I try to flash any ROM (Tried to install paranoindandroid, Ressurection Rom, Slim Rom) I get stucked in endless bootloop. From time to time the phone boots ROM, but only thing that happens is that I see "Enter your PIN code" for like 1-2 secs and then phone restarts and bootloop continues. Fortunately, I have Nandroid backup of my previous ROM which is old like hell (It´s RebelAOKP 1.3 ROM) so I can download other ROMs from xda. I tried full wipe, flashing other kernels, flashing ROM several times, fixing permissions and I don´t know, everything what is in CWM.
I´m so frustrated, whole day I´m searching for solution but I can´t find anything helpfull so I hope that someone will help me. Please be good to me I´m little bit noob but flashed lot of ROMs and this happens to me for first time. I will appreciate every response.
THX for your help.

A.
If i get your question very well,
1. Your device can only boot if you restore your old ROM.
2. Anytime you flash a new ROM, you always end up in bootloops
Please correct me if i got something wrong.
B.
Please provide answers to these questions:
1. What's your ROM details? Press include your phone's model no (goto SETTINGS -About, post everything you see)
2. Was your device carrier branded?
3. Was your device SIMlocked?
4. Please post all the steps you normally take while flashing a new ROM

- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe dalvik cache

- Reboot recovery (under Advanced)
- wipe data/factory reset
- format /system (under mount and storage)
- wipe dalvik cache
- flash ROM
- flash gapps (gapps 4.1)
- fix permissions
- reboot phone
All should be fine now.
Note: this is not a standard flashing method. I only tried as much as possible to remove possibility of another round of bootloops.

How to do a logcat
Ok so this is what i do.
. Download attachment and extract anywhere
.Open up Platform-tools folder and hold Shift+right click on an empty space within the folder.
.Click on "Open command window here"
.In the command window, type "adb logcat"
.Plug in device & turn it on
.It should do a logcat
leave it for about 1 min then disconnect device. Right click the logcat and select mark then highlight all and right click again. go to pastebin.com or something like that then paste it and save and give us the link.
hope this helps

You can try flashing Philz recovery via odin, then run a mega wipe script to fully format system, data and preload.
In recovery does it show any errors?

Hi
I'm new to the forums and just wondering if anyone can help me out.
I've just started exploring custom ROMs and the like. I've flashed and rooted my Galaxy SIII about four times and never had any problems. Just yesterday I flashed the latest stable build of Slimbean and when I went to root it afterwards it completed the process but wouldn't start. Now it's stuck in a boot loop. I can't access download or recovery mode. Please Help!!!!!!!!

Just yesterday I flashed the latest stable build of Slimbean and when I went to root it afterwards it completed the process but wouldn't start. Now it's stuck in a boot loop. I can't access download or recovery mode. Please Help!!!!!!!!

Samsung Galaxy SII stuck at Bootloop

Hello everyone, I'm Aly. The problem I'm facing with my SII is that whenever I flash the stock firmware, I successfully see the bootup animation but it keeps repeating again and again. I've tried:
1.Downloading the firmware again ( thought it was corrupt)
2.Factory resetting the phone it stock, CWM and TWRP recovery
3.Tried plugging the USB cable in ALL USB PORTS!!
4.Tried flashing a custom rom but still didn't work
5.Wiped Data, System, Cache, Internal Storage, Dalvik Cache
It all started when I flashed Lineage OS on my phone. I successfully flashed it and it was working. I used it for almost a month.
Then I decided to switch to lollipop after flashing the stock firmware. But after that I was able to flash roms but all were stuck at the boot loop
The stock firmware didnt work either
Please help me get out of this problem...

Stock rom won't work because it needs 512mb preload partition, you repartitioned your phone with a pit that decreases preload partition to 45mb, if you want to get back to stock, you need to repartition your phone with the original pit file, or use a pit that supports 1gb system partition and 512mb preload at the same time.
Use pits from the zip attached with the first post in saber's guide to have preload 512mb with system 1.5 gb:

Thanks it worked!!

I'm new here, sorry if my question sound a bit stupid. I couldn't find the attached zip file on that post. Where can I find the pit file?

These pit files are 1.5 gb system:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3800723&d=1467442898
And those pit files are 1gb system:

For your first problem about the bootloap after flashing stock firmware, you need to reboot to stock recovery and wipe data and cache and then reboot.
Thanks for your help
