How do i do that? I talked to the voodoo support (through the play store) but they are not willing to help

Same problem here, ive used voodoo sim unlock and sim fix,but still nothing happened, but when i dial the confirmation it says "network lock is off" dont know what to do now.
voodoo
i had this same problem . What i do is click out sim card but dont fully remove it . Unlock the phone using voodoo, back out of the app an click sim card in again . Leave it 4 a lil bit and hopefully the sim card locked shud disappear and it will ask you for your sim pin .If it doesnt work on ur first time be patient and try again. Although everytime the phone powers off it locks the network again
Hi, i was having the same problem here. Mine is a i9300 from Claro PR. This happened to me with the stock rom( it seems like all the Claro's bloatware is affecting this). I just installed a custom rom and it works perfectly now.
Hi
has anybody got this or any other method to work on the latest Jelly bean leak ROM?
I had to flash back as i was un able to sim unlock.
Does this mean we will have to get a Official unlock code to use Jelly Bean 4.1.1 in future?
i know there is a patch for vodoo but can't find it anymore

well im new and a bit confused myself here, but my wife got me a lovely new 32Gig s3 i9300 from vodafone on contract last month. I rooted it but cant remember what rom I put on it, then this week I got hammered to accept a upgrade to the BUBLG3 firmware I think. so I got annoyed when a few apps stopped working and decided I wanted to unlock and unbrand this thing, I spent the last two days chasing both a firmware upgrade only to be utterly confused as to which one is the latest unbranded rom and as to how to unlock the phone, I got the voodoo unlocker from somewhere and when I ran it it said Sim Lock: inactive. which surprised me a lot so I typed in *#7465625# and my imei to find out more, turns out that it says that command is unknown ?, with or without the imei. Then I threw in a O2 sim out of curiosity and lo and behold it works, so I am guessing either the Rom I loaded up and was overwritten ( or however it works ) unlocked it or it was unlocked when I got it from Vodafone. So many Roms floating about its very confusing to me and probably a lot of noobs which to get. Still cant get the apps to load either.
Sorry if this is of no use to you but i thought it was interesting and in context with the post header.

Hi
i think youll find most Vodaphone phones are SIM free.
I had a Galaxy Nexus on Vodaphone which I ordered through Phones4U which was also Factory unlocked
I have my s3 rooted some guy in a phone shop done it. If it's rooted does it definitely mean he's installed a different rom on it or has he just opened the superuser access.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
If it's rooted it doesn't mean he's flashed another ROM at all. Just means you now have superuser access.

I got my s3 from 3 in the uk few months ago fully unlocked and if i try and flash lg8 or lg9 i get the network lock set to on. So.. restored to lf6 via cwm and still network lock set to on pretty annoyed by now so voodoo unlock and job done i have got a backup of my efs folder but that if the worst happens

I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 which has a fully unlocked bootloader and is rooted. On "My Verizon" the device shows up as unknown which makes sense. My issue is that I can't port my number from a Verizon Post Paid account to a PrePaid account since they can't active an unknown device on prepaid.
My question is, what on the Verizon system indicates it is an unknown device? Is it the bootloader? Rooted? Is there a way to revert back to a state that does not require relocking the bootloader that will make Verizon detect my phone as a Galaxy S4? I'm trying to switch my account over so that when my Nexus 6 comes in I can just swap at the sim card. Then the unlocked bootloader S4 goes up on Swappa.
Let me know if you think there's something that can be done. I could always just active an old Verizon phone, but I need to dig one up somewhere.
Thanks

So I used Odin to restore my phone back to stock. Locked bootloader and lost root. However, the Verizon My Device page still shows my device as unknown. I contacted Verizon and they changed my device ID number in their system to match the Galaxy S4. Still didn't update the My Verizon. Does anyone have any ideas how to get my device to be recognized by the Verizon Wireless Network as a Galaxy S4?

once you have root again you have to edit your build prop to say sch-i545 if it says anything different. when you switch to the prepaid tell them its a SCH-I545 Galaxy S4. My verizon takes months to update the model number at times and its not to be worried about. i think my old phone showed up unknown for a year and a half even before i had root
Just looked, the build.prop file says SCH-I515. Not sure what's holding up the Verizon system from recognizing the phone.
My concern is I can't activate or sell the phone if the system doesn't pick it up.

yes you can. their system could yake months to recognize your phone. as long as your IMIE number is good there should be no worries whatso ever if sold or activated
Hi, i have been trying to find an answer to this after hours of searching i've come up short and confused.
I recently switched from tmobile to verizon, and i paid off my tmobile s9+ and had it sim unlocked. When i put my verizon sim in it, nothing really happens. either it tells me that it can't register on the network or to insert a tmobile sim card.
I have tried using reset and factory reset. I have also tried the method of holding the volume bixby and power and doing a factory reset, then putting the sim in, rebooting, etc. That doesn't work either.
I see several people trying to go from verizon to tmobile, but i haven't been able to find anyone going from tmobile to verizon, and what method i need to do to get this to work, if its possible at all. Any help would be so much appreciated!

That still may not help, remember Verizon is still CDMA and the T Mobile branded phone does not have CDMA bands activated and they may not even be on the phone, I don't know. Granted band 13 should work fine, being LTE, but could the sim be looking for a CDMA radio and that is why it is not working?

The hardware is identical for all US Galaxy S9 phones. Any bands that may be missing will be resolved by flashing firmware. OP could also just stay with U1 if they want unlocked, and all bands would still be there.

As per Samsung chat support, I've asked if the dual sim version (international) will work with Verizon. I've also asked the rep if I can switch carriers with a locked phone. They said that essentially, all phones were manufactured with the CDMA and GSM band compatibility, it just needs to be unlocked and the US versions will work on any carrier in the US and the international version (dual sim) needs to be unlocked and it will work with any carrier in any country.
That said, it seems that you're just having an unlocking issue - which is good and bad. I hope you figure this out. Try using Odin 3.13, get the CORRECT firmware for U1 or U(VZW) to flash your phone

Only one small correction to what they told you: The 965F (international), will not have CDMA capabilities. That might not be a problem on some US carriers. But if you can't get VoLTE working on VZW with 965F, then you're dead in the water, since you don't have 1x CDMA calling to fall back on. It becomes a data-only device. I don't have experience with it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the VoLTE doesn't work on US carriers. For GDM/WCDMA carriers, you'd probably be just fine with 965F. Even if VoLTE doesn't work, you'd still be able to call.
Hope this helps.

Step 1
Can you find out the exact model number?
For T-Mobile, it will be one of these :
SM-G965UZKATMB (Midnight Black)
SM-G965UZBATMB (Coral Blue)
SM-G965UZPATMB (Lilac Purple)
The U is the important part, as a previous poster explained that the F models do not have CDMA support (forget what that actually means, just know its necessary for verizon)
Step 2
Next, make sure that the carrier version is correct.
Example: SM-G965UZKATMB
BST Boost
VZW Verizon
ATT ATT
USC US Cellular
ACG C Spire
TMK MetroPCS
VMU Virgin Mobile
TFN Tracfone
XAS Sprint
TMB T-Mobile
XAA Unlocked US
SPR Sprint
CCT Xfinity Mobile
Essentially, you need the firmware that starts with SM-G965U and ends with VZW
Step 3
I'm not 100% sure on how to flash from carrier to carrier but there will be a list of directions. You may need to do some research there to see if it will void samsung warranty (aka 'trip knox') or anything like that, if that matters to you. I think only a modified version of Odin will be able to do this.
Download Odin v3.13.1
Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 5 files:
AP (System & Recovery)
BL (Bootloader)
CP (Modem / Radio)
CSC_OXM (OXM CSC file, will wipe your phone)
HOME_CSC_OXM (OXM CSC file, will NOT wipe your phone)
Add each file to it's respective field in Odin v3.13.1. Use CSC_OXM if you want to do a clean flash and HOME_CSC OXM if you want to keep your apps and data.
Reboot your phone in Download / Odin mode with the following button combo: POWER + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY
Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, preferably using the original USB cable you got with your phone. Odin should detect your device and a blue box will show up with the COM port number.
Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS'. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot.

Step 4
To download firmwares, google "SAMMOBILE website: /firmwares/galaxy-s9-plus/SM-G965U"
Looks like the latest verizon firmware is here: SAMMOBILE website /firmwares/galaxy-s9-plus/SM-G965U/VZW/download/G965USQS2ARF4/223287

Hey thanks a bunch, I’ll give this a shot when I get home tonight. It very well may be that the rom I got wasn’t the right one. Other threads I’ve read seemed to indicate that everything was universal now and by having the SIM card in the phone while flashing, it would download the carrier specific stuff automatically. That part at least doesn’t appear to be the case since the phone wouldn’t accept it. But I’ll download some of the carrier specifics and see what happens. Thanks again!
Did you get it to work after all?
Sorry that i forgot to update! I did get it working, but it required a bit more discussion and help on a reddit discussion someone started. I noticed that someone asked this exact question and i pointed him to this thread where he was able to get it working, then helped me with which roms he used, and i got it working as well! I've been using it daily for almost a month now. Thanks so much for everyones help, i hope that if anyone else is trying to do this, between the two threads it can help. Awesome gigatigga - thanks for getting back. I'm on the verge of trying this. I owe some money on my S9 plus on t-mobile but before i paid it off wanted to make sure all is good.
How are the speeds? Everything working ok? Thanks again! :good::good:
Edit: I was all set to do this and during the signup - I found out that my imei wouldn't work in Verizon's system so they used one from another phone. He advised that if I wanted to pay for insurance, if I make a claim it could be an issue because the imei numbers won't match up. Seemed like a big red flag to me. So I didn't go through with it. Wonder how others are handling this?
I just switched from the ATT firmware to ARF4 on T-Mobile, but it says there is no update available, while the newest T-Mobile update is ARF7. Does anyone know how to get updates OTA?

Can someone help me?
I cannot network unlock a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy 9 plus which has never been active on any plan. When I insert my Verizon SIM card a system notification says "Invalid SIM card. Network Locked SIM card inserted".
I want to bring this phone to Verizon where I have an active plan. I don't have a plan with Tmobile and my friend gifted me this phone. I flashed it to Samsung stock firmware and bought an unlock code from DoctorSim. The code applied successfully however the phone doesn't unlock completely and continues to prompt for the unlock code when I insert the Verizon Sim card. When I called Tmobile they said only a phone active for 40 days on their network can be unlocked using the phone app and that my friend would have to call them to unlock the phone.

I wanted to update from android 8 to 9 to try it out. well when i went to the ota software updates n completed them and it somehow changed my verizion branded phone to att. " it's a verizion phone with a att sim card" after the last year of sharing my wifi via mobile hotspot after this blunder it now blocks me from using mobile hotspot. can any1 please tell me how to make.my phone like it was without having to do a full reset? phone is not rooted and I have no access to a pc. I have the sm-g965u.
I bought a s9+ from swappa around February. I bought my mom one from the same supplier a week ago. At first I was concerned that her's had ATT logo until I realized it would change once a tmobile sim was put in. Her's is now SW ver Tmb/Tmb/Tmb. Then I noticed she is at Android 10.0 UI ver 2.0. I am stuck at Android 9 UI ver 1.0
So It seems I was worried about the wrong phone. It is MY phone that can't get updates. My baseband is:
G965USQU7CSK6 which I believe is an ATT baseband. my SW ver is Tmb/Tmb/Att
I tried connecting to smart switch and it says I am up to date. I tried putting in an at&t sim card (that no longer is in service) and smart switch doesn't complain about anything but it still says it is up to date. Doing OTA while using At&t sim card also says I am up to date. I am CLEARLY not up to date. My last update says Nov.1, 2019.
I have used Odin before...mostly for rooting phone. I haven't rooted since the s5 ( where I could take the battery out ). Little paranoid to use Odin considering I can't take the battery out, but with good instructions I will proceed.
Any help on how to update and especially update on tmobile network would be extremely appreciated.
btw I'm in the US and my model is SM-G965U

I have researched a bit and found that it IS possible to change the firmware over to Tmobile using a patched version of Odin.
I downloaded from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
the 3.13.3_3B_PatcheD.zip
I downloaded G965USQS7CSK3_G965UOYN7CSK3_TMB.zip
from sammobile, which is for Android 9
I would love to be able to use HOME_CSC but that may not work. I could really use some hand holding going through this process.
Is this the correct firmware? Should I be using Android 10 firmware if that is ultimately what I want? HOME_CSC or no? I notice they have the 10 version:
PDA G965USQS7DTB1
CSC G965UOYN7DTB1
as well, which is Android 10 for Tmobile. Also, knox ? will this trip the knox counter thing-a-ma-jig?
Thanks

ok, so I bit the bullet and decided to go ahead. I used
odin 3.14.1_3B_PatcheD.zip just to be sure
I made sure my phone was unlocked: yes it changes carriers if I put in different sim. When in Tmobile sim Settings->Connections->Mobile Networks->Network operators , yes it has a search networks button and it eventually comes up with other carriers so....safe to say I had unlocked phone ( but not samsung unlocked ie. SM-G965U not SM-G965U1)
I used the latest android 9 firmware. and I used HOME_CSC ( even though I did a backup with smart switch b4) Everything went smoothly, and I still have my apps and now I can get an ota security patch for it. Will write back once I am up to Android 10. oh, btw I am still at SW ver Tmb/Tmb/Att , but I've got ota updates so I don't care

I am now at the same baseband version as my mom. Everything worked perfectly. I suggest you go with the least change possible to get to the point that you are able to do OTA updates. For me this was going to the latest Android 9 that they had at sammobile since I was on Android 9 and going with the Tmobile version. I hear the carrier doesn't even matter these days, but I decided I wanted to make sure it was Tmobile compatible so I chose the Tmobile version from sammobile. Happy trails to you in your endeavors. Hopefully you can learn something from mine.
Hey, I really want to thank you for this! I had the same issue and was exploring similar solutions. After several days of researching alternate plans, I was about to give it up as too risky until I found your post - by googling for hints: "SW ver. TMB/TMB/ATT"! You helped me take the dive, and I'm now happily past having a second-hand S9 (sm-g960u) that wouldn't do an OTA update. After a flawless flash, my first OTA request got me to Android 10, (UI 2). now I have a follow-up update scheduled for the wee hours. (And, yes, I'm still at "TMB/TMB/ATT".)
Perhaps like you, I started by investigating the possibility of flashing the UNLOCKED ("U1") firmware. After learning it was possible with the _patchedD Odin, it still scared me enough that I decided on a more conservative approach and followed your exact advice. I especially appreciated your plan to flash NOT the latest update, but the last Android 9 TMB update. That turned out to correspond to the ATT version on my phone, making TMobile either unable or unwilling to offer an OTA update.
History: This is my third used S9. While all were sold as UNLOCKED, only the first had the "U1" model suffix (SM-g960u1). When the second one booted up as a TMobile phone, I felt tricked - but also lucky that I got the right carrier. That's when I learned about the difference in model numbers. As you noted the U1 firmware is factory unlocked - attached to no carrier. When my third phone booted up with a Verizon greeting I figured I could be facing trouble - even though it accepted my TMB sim card.
The seller explained to me that my phone was part of a batch of ATT phones, all "SIM unlocked" using a Verizon sim card. I think sellers of phones with claims to be unlocked should be required to specify whether FACTORY or SIM unlocked.
Hope this great contribution of yours will continue to help others.
