Hello
I'm thinking of installing the latest firmware(G925FXXU2QOI7) on my S6 edge currently running 5.1.1 G925FXXU2POGQ
Now I got a few questions
1. What are the implications of installing this firmware, will my Network connection still work, together with Mobile Data?
2. Is it possible to revert to my current firmware once I have flashed this?
3. Will I get the latest features of the S6 edge+ after flashing this?
Thanks in advance

if its 4.1.2 stock firmware than it doesn't need factory reset, but i have seen some users having a boot loop while doing so and to remove the boot loop issue they have to factory reset and wipe cache partition. it would be better if u backup everything before you do this(recommended)..
Backup evrythng using titanium backup or a similar app and restore the data after flashing the 4.3 rom..

Kies will have the 4.3 update when it is released for your phone .

The firmware hasn't been released yet for all carriers in all regions.
You could download it and flash it, thought.

Normally upgrade to a higher version should retain user data, apps & contacts. few weeks before i upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.3 without loosing anything. But always backup the required data is suggested.

One word of advice: the i9300 4.3 update is VERY laggy and full of battery drain bugs. I would remain on 4.1.2 if I were you until Samsung releases a refreshed S3 update.
This is why the update may not be available through Kies, they pulled it as soon as UK users started complaining.

Person who wishes he never pressed "install" on the 4.3 OTA...
All,
I have rooted my Sprint S6 Edge running Android Version 5.0.2.
I would like to install a custom rom however it appears you need to be on 5.1.1 to install any of the newer ROM's. I was looking to flash XtreStoLite Odexed Pure ROM.
However, I'm open to any ROM that I can run smoothly and remove most of this bloatware. I'm experiencing significant performance decrease as of late.
If this question has already been ask please just point me to the thread. I did a search on the site but couldn't find a specific answer to my question.
Thanks for all responses.
Hello all,
I have a galaxy s6 g925I on 5.1.1 and am using Xstreo Lite version 2.4 and TWRP version 2.8.7.1.
I am wondering how to upgrade to a rooted version of marshmallow (preferably using xstreolite again). But as I understand it, the process is a bit more complicated than usual. Therefore, my questions is a simple one: how do I so keeping into account all the new steps (updating the boot loader, updating TWRP version etc).
I tried searching but could find nothing that compiles all the information or says it at one place (or I might just be deficient in searching. Apologies in advance!)
Thanks so much.
Cheers!
Hi! Thanks for the reply. But if I do this won't I lose my root? Also will smart switch work with a already rooted phone?
Hi,
I've been looking for an answer to my question, and I think it's been catagorically answered - you cannot downgrade from nougat to marshmallow mainly because the bootloader needs to be downgraded.
I desperately want to get back to marshmallow as nougat broke a certain app that I use all the time, and the app is no longer being maintained.
I currently have SuperStock S8 ROM installed on my G925F. Before I rooted and installed this, it was running the official OTA Samsung Updates available in the UK (my phone is BTU). This firmware would have been this one here - https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s6-edge/SM-G925F/BTU/download/G925FXXS5EQL6/202020/
Now my question is can I downgrade to marshmallow at all? I mean, even if it's an unofficial ROM which requires root (preferable). Because I think the main reason the app I'm having difficulty with has stopped working is due to the bootloader or modem... Possibly. I don't really know what I'm talking about.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and apologies if I have left out any relevant info required to help provide an answer.
Thanks in advance.
Got a second-hand S III and looked for a ROM. Since my favourite OS was 8.1 Oreo, I decided to install LineageOS 15.1. Installed and so far is great, except I can't connect to WiFi. When I click on the WiFi, it says Connecting and then goes back to Saved, then to Disabled. Before I ROM'ed it, there was no problem with WiFi. MAC address is the same, I checked it. Can anyone help me?

this is a common bug. just try switching the wifi on the phone on and off with the button or reboot the phone and try again or remove / forget the wifi and add it again. ive had this happen with other roms too, but usually it works after some attempts to connect.
you could also try resetting the phone / factory reset or full wipe and reinstall the rom.
if it doenst work at all flash the latest stock rom in odin complete with all modules (bootloader, ap, modem and csc) to update your modem and csc.
then install your custom rom again.
if it wont work at all try another mod.
you can use samfirmreborn to find the latest stock rom for your model:
