on chrome I use the extension do not track plus , if you don't know it, it blocks the ads collecting your data but still lets the ads show unlike an ad blocker.. after all ads provide us with free things..
But.. this post isn't a plug, I have a real question..
Is there anything like this for android? there are plenty of ad blockers out there, and a few apps that can show you which app uses what ad company, but I haven't found anything that works like do not track..
anyone know of anything?
Ok, hoping I found the right forum, sorry if I didn't. I have a Moto X '14 (rooted, unlocked, running stock 6.0) and I use Dolphin and Chrome as my browsers. I don't think I have a malware problem I think it's just the fact that browsing on my phone is almost unbearable due to the ads that pop up/over various webpages. Again, these are pertinent to the webpage I'm on so I think they're legit ads but is there any way to block them? I've got the AdBlocker xposed module loaded but that really doesn't seem to be helping. Does anyone have a suggestion for ad blockers that might work? I honestly just give up browsing 1/3 of the pages I try to visit on my phone.
AdAway module does a fantastic job blocking ads using the hosts file.
Hey guys,
Are you and what are the best ways of monetization for online or app games?
One of the best ways to monetize a game is going to be ads. However, the trick is not ruining the players experience with ads. One strategy used successfully by developers is implementing Rewarded Video Ads. This way, the player chooses to see the ad. It isn't forced on them. Throwing a few ads here and there isn't bad but as a game player, I can't stand ads and have no real issues with sitting through a video ad when I was the one who chose to do so.
Good luck!
Yes, I agree with you. And what is getting more revenue, ads or some platforms? What is your opinion about that?
There is always a struggle with what network to choose. Sometimes what performs well on android is completely different than on iOS. This is one of the reasons that Enhance can help out in finding the right network.
Using Enhance®, you can now integrate all of the services that different providers offer without ever having to touch an SDK again. With little to NO coding at all and without touching source code, Enhance® is the easiest way to integrate 3rd party services into your project or to keep them up to date. (Ads, Mediation, Analytics, Attribution, Crash Reporting and more) No more SDK integration!!!
Now you can find the right network for you on either platform without having to integrate SDKs over and over and over and over and over and over again.
Thanks for the nice answer. Thank you for your suggestion, but I'm a programmer and I was working in web and app development, for apps I was using Android Studio, which is really good for creating apps. Probably I will try iOS apps too, but after I learn this a little better.
I really don´t like video ads when I´m watching a TV show or a movie- it disrupts the experience and I get nothing back from that time. But the object of rewarded video ads is to be intrusive but not disruptive, meaning it does take time but hopefully it will take place between levels or after some sort of achievement. And then, of course, the player is ´rewarded´with points or game lives, etc, so it´s kind of like being paid for time. Not the same thing, eh?

I must agree with you, I also don't like when I get ads in front of my screen while watching some YouTube video, some movie online or something else, because of that AdBlock is really good, you can also set it that some sites give you ads (like Forbes, where you need to enter with AdBlocker off). And about your question, that is the situation in gaming, but that is all right, if you want to spend your time on that for your reward, why not, but I must say that I have seen just once a really good ad on YouTube in the most cases they are annoying and time-consuming, because of that I've installed addon.

That´s a good point. I always, always mean to use the Adblocker whenever I´m using Youtube and an ad pops up. But then I think that if everyone used the Adblocker, then Youtube might lose enough money that they would start charging for their service?? Does anyone see that ever happening?

It makes sense, but not much, they can do however they want. Probably you and I are thinking differently from others. I was seeing a lot of people that don't use AdBlocker, they piss out when the ad comes, but they DON'T WANT AdBlocker, so there are a lot of people that are watching those ads. Even if YouTube change their policy for ads, that won't be something drastic and the new plugin would come out for that also. I don't believe they will lose some serious money because of that, but I didn't investigate that, maybe someone knows more
Hello there,
it seems that on the S9+ (and maybe S9, tho users over there report everything is fine) all the VPN-based ad blockers like DNS66, Blokada and the likes do not work correctly. When switching between wifi and mobile, the connection randomly dies, not letting anything through anymore until you restart the phone, or disable the blocker. It is documented in a github issue for DNS66 here. This is annoying, as I found this solution the most user-friendly. I know there is Adhell 3, but a) it's annoying to resign and reinstall every 3 months and apply for new keys and b) it doesn't block everything, not even if I manually feed it with all the hosts files that DNS66 uses. It blocks ads alright, but misses quite some.
Is there any known fix for this, or any other adblock suggestion besides that? I know that rooting and adaway would be best, but I won't root anymore since Samsung here in Europe straight off denies any warranty requests for rooted devices, even if it's got nothing to do with the root itself.
Adguard would a suggestion, but it does use a VPN blocking service for system wide blocking. It's not free and is subscription based. At one time I used adguard over dns66 as adguard worked and dns66 did not (VPN issues with dns66).
For non rooted users there is really no other options. Unless you want to setup a pihole server, somehow get your dns setting on your phone to point to the pihole server and go that route. In the case of dns changes on non-rooted devices it's either a VPN based change or knox. So your options are limited to one or the other. Of course this becomes moot if your plan on only blocking ads when you use a wifi connection.
I've done the pihole route before too, it works but doesn't catch everything. Some ads originate from the same domain as where your visiting, in which case dns adblocking won't work. For those scenarios cosmetic filtering would.
Otherwise I use adhell3 and adblock plus plugin on samsung browser. For practical intents and purposes I steered clear of VPN based setups for a reason. Also I don't mind recompilimg adhell3 once in a while, he's really put a lot of work into making it as simple as possible. I've got my android studio setup so that I just pull the latest changes, build the apk and install.
If adhell3 isn't your cup of tea then the only app I know is Disconnect Pro which costs $24.99 in the galaxy app store. Disconnect Pro functions the same way as Adhell3 does.. as a front end configuration for knox. I've read somewhere that Adhell3 has more features then Disconnect Pro, but I didn't look to much into that to find out what one has over the other.
If I were to suggest something I would suggest adhell3 combined with adblock plus plugin for your browser. combined those work the best for me... some ads might slip through, but dns based ad blocking is not the same as cosmetic ad blocking. Adguard should still do cosmetic filtering, but it's been a while since I used that app.
I am use this one on my S9+, it's free and work fine.

hello guys
i'm so sick of the ads and popups on chrome, i don't want to use another browser
i need to make chrome doing it job without any ads or popups, i already blocked the pop-ups and redirects and ads but i still gets popups and ads especially when i surfing on a movies website you know they have a lot of ads, and i find it easy to block them on PC chrome by downloading extensions, but on mobile it's hard
my phone is : pixel 2 xl running android 9.0
i'm also using adaway but he can't doing a thing with chrome
How do I remove all extensions on Chrome?? The pop up ads just drive me crazy and they won't stop! te[email protected]
IMHO blocking typically only really can be achieved by steadily updating phone's hostsfile - what requires phone's Android is rooted. Thus it's also possible to block hundreds of porn sites. This method doesn't need a VPN additionally gets used as that's the case with AD-blockers like Blokada for example.
