from what i can gather to date, its only possible if you didnt update, and then do some black magic provided from condi, to install a prerooted update.
im in the same boat right now after doing the update and then reading that it was a mistake.....for now at least

since yesterday I am the proud owner of a new Xperia Tablet Z, version SGP312 (the wifi version with 32GB).
After reading a lot in this forum about the latest 4.2 firmware with phone GUI I would like to stay with the 4.1 firmware that is currently installed on my tablet but update it to the latest 4.1 firmware out there which is the 10.1.1.A.1.307.
Unfortunately, I can't find the 10.1.1.A.1.307 firmware for the SGP312 tablet version as an .FTF file anywhere.
Does anyone of you have this firmware installed and is able to provide the above mentioned file or does anyone know where I could possibly find it in the depths of the Internet?
Any help is much appreciated.

Hello, my Z2 is still running on .55 firmware no update available on ota and Sony pc companion too... I bought it in France,should be french version!
Note app was missing too,I installed the apk from here. Any feedback? thanks!
why xperia z ultra india edition get latest updates of 4.4.4
in all devices 4.4.4 updates are rolling out from last 5 months. but it hvnt received still
when i have purchased phone it inbuilt 4.4.2 then it never get update of OS stills.
and i dont want to update that via Pc companion.
i just want to answer that why sony cant put latest updates in india ????
and i recently read that z ultra GPE edition will get android 5.0 updates
so, why we cant??

It's just quicker to update manually at this point. Sony probably has a reason for not releasing the update in India. It could well be some carrier issues (all firmware versions has to pass through carriers first, and requires testing). We don't know, and instead of spending time speculating on something that we will never know, you can download and install the update manually and continue with your life
You want it? Go ahead and grab it. It's that easy.

@scorpion_byte can we flash 4.4.4 from HK by using flash tool and again if required come back to India version by flashing indian rom. I understand with this I will loose the data.
Any advantages of going to 4.4.4

Hi all, Im a little lost here. My Z Ultra has an unlocked bootloader. I still havent received an OTA notification for lollipop. (I'm running KitKat). I have a C6833, I just tried updating through the sony software, it did find the update but said my phone had modified software and therefore could not proceed.
So how do I upgrade to Lollipop ? I have tried looking for a TFT rom for the update but havent found one yet. My girlfriend upgraded OTA and its got the 14.5.a.0.242 . Havent found that TFT file for download though
