KCAL MOD Support for CM 12.1? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
Im using Cm12.1 and before I was in stock 5.1.1 with "color control" Kcal mod, and that was awesome. but now in CM I cant get it work. I seems like the kernel doesnt support it.
Even i try with Kernel Auditor and it doesnt have the "KCAL module section". Btw in sotck rom K.Auditor have that option.
For that reason I think its a kernel compatibility issue.
I like this mod, somebody have a way to get it work in CM?
Greetings.
(sry, English isnt my native lang)

Have you tried a different kernel? Just a suggestion.. ?

Hey, I try again, installing latests CM 12.1 build for my Z2 and M5 Kernel V10 Permissive.
I flash it from recovery and stuck in Sony logo, led turn on in Red and a few secs later the phone restarts.
What I am doing wrong?

Isn't this kernel the sony's Central Europe's one?MIUI runs on 4.4 kitkat and requires a custom 4.4 kernel, I don't think it will work :/
I don't know UltraWelfare but fact is it is uploaded by @bagyusz and it is his work (am I right?) and samuk190 didn't mention him so he "stealed" his work!

OMG. you panic dudes. just chill out.
OP has linked the STOCK KERNEL uploaded by bagyusz. Its STOCK. not made by any chef. What OP means to say is...
Install the MIUI ROM using CWM. (the miui based on cm10.1 4.2.2 in dev section). Then flash 4.3 stock kernel.
THen take a log. The ROM WONT boot completely. But either there will be a bootloop on bootanim or other errors. Take the logcat and post it here.
Then using those logs, maybe bagyusz will try to port MIUI based on 4.3. At least thats what i understand.
First at all u need a CM10.1 with hijack-ramdisk(maybe someone can compile) and try to port it.

Oh, sorry I didn't want to panic, I just wanted to clearify that :silly: but as I read your post I understood what he means. I wasn't sure, if this really is the stock keernel, because of the C1 after the firmware name. I'M SORRY for the suspicion :/

Faster and more stable, and kernel 3.10. CM has some problems such as bluetooth connection or suddenly get soft reboot, or some crazy issues when your device works for a long time without reboot. And I think have no reason for trying a unlocked bootloader ROM with kernel 3.4.

That is not pure AOSP. I am telling about AOSP 5.1.1 by FXP team..
Fxp team aosp 5.1.1 is alright but its camera is really bad and the rom has several performance issues
I'd love to switch from stock to cyanogenmod but i keep getting random soft reboots
Aosp is harder to port but provides a faster and smoother aswell as a more pure experience
Cm is easier to port but same as aosp, if not done properly then its not worth

It's not right. AOSP is more easier to port but it's not popular as well as CM so there're less developers do that.

Does anyone have Oldest Firmware?

Does anyone have the oldest (The very first) firmware that came with xperia tablet z lte? Any working link? Ftf or zip.. Anything will work.. I tried some link here on some threads, but all the links have expired. I wanna go back to tablet z original version... I feel like that was better.
Also a rooting method if possible? Can't live without root

There are no GPU governors available when i use CM13/RR(Based on CM13) in Kernel Adiutor app. I keep GPU governor in Performance to avoid lag in games. I've to flash Black Kernel to set GPU governor, but Black kernel is not working with CM13/RR
I hope someone can make CM13 with Sony's PS3 controller support as in Stock ROM.

It depends on builds you use.
RR 5.7.0 d/d 02.07.16 (pollux) works good with BK d/d 16.07.16. With newer BK d/d 04.08.16 it won't boot RR, at least on my device.
CM13 is not working with BK at least for several months now (probably from june).
And yes stock CM13 kernel doesn't have such great abilities to fine-tune, as BK has.
So it will be reasonable, to ask @BlackAfghan to update BK.

I tried the builds you recommended. But no luck with it! RR just doesn't work with Black Kernel. Not even the CM 12.1 work with Black Kernel. @BlackAfghan should fix that kernel. So now I'm using Tesla ROM with EvoMix Kernel.

Noted.. the reason that you can't select the governess is because of a bug in the GPU driver.. I fixed it in my kernel, but that is not working with recent versions..
The reason are the frequent CM updates and its current unstableness.. I'm sorry!

Which Rom Do You use For your Z2?

Hi, I want to know which Rom is the most popular Rom For Z2 and which of them Do you use for daily usage ?
1. existenz V5.1 Final MM
2. existenz V7 Lolipop
3. Mx Rom V8.6
4. Sony Stock
5. Aosp MM
6. Cm
7. other
I'm running on Mx Rom V8.6 for the daily usage, the ROM is very stable and fluid smooth. ExistenZ is best for fast update and lot features, but I'm feeling it became bit laggy overtime in long run.
Both are great ROMs and great developers, very grateful to have them in Z2 development. Been using custom ROM since Kit Kat on day one Z2 launched in my country.
I'm running Google Style ROM.
I've tried other ROMs as well, but I keep returning to this one. It's just perfect. Slim and AOSP-ish, while still maintaining Sony apps and features. Removing them further slims it down.
Toss in a couple of xposed modules like : N-ify, GravityBox, Lolistat and flash PexoCAM 8.5 and install LSpeed app to make it the best rom ever.
I've faced zero issues and I've been using it for months.

Stock rom for daily use (23.5.A.1.291)
I'm using GoogleStyle ROM. In my opinion is the best rom in performance, battery life and multitasking. ExistenZ is very good for his personalization but have bad multitask.
Send from my D6503 with LB.
Switched from ExistenZ 5.1 Final to MX recently. Both are good but not perfect, each has some issues. Most stable and smoothest custom Z2 ROM ever posted in XDA in my opinion was Lollipop ROMs by Rajeev.
I'm on existenz lollipop final, I missed so much Real stamina mode that I step back from marschmallow Roma.
Inviato dal mio LG-V400 utilizzando Tapatalk
Z2 stock
Until i get another phone my z2 is stock on 23.5.A.1.291
As my everyday phone i dont want to kill it. For trails i have a Xperia Z with 10.7.A.0.228
If i unlock the boot loader, which is allowed, it never boots at all. Thanks to Flashtool i have always been able to recover. I cannot root without using KingoRoot.apk but that does not allow the correct version of SU to be installed. Tried Darkslide SuperSume to remove the crap that KingoRoot leaves but that ultimately fails because of the locked boot loader and i've already explained what happens if i try.
These issues make me reluctant to play with the Z2.

Yeah yeah. It's average score good one How about microphone problem while calling? Still ok google issue is there? (muted mic issue) and do you suggest weekly stable or test build? You know today already released a new weekly stable build?
Edit: One more question on my phone I cannot reach recovery without a custom kernel with custom kernel it performs very well on .291 build 6.0.1 marsh. Is it a problem to go Carbon Rom ? (If you ask, I flashed .291 offical build with flashtool )
I found a bug. Connect to a VPN via l2tp/ipsec psk works without any problems. A disconnect from VPN has the effect that the device restarts. It does not matter which built I am using. I happens every time.
