Theming help - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello people, before we start i am new to android so i am not up to speed with everything yet. I need some help trying to change the settings background from white to either a picture or transparent.
I am using using the Xtrestolite rom for my G925F but would like to change the settings background. I have used various xposed mods to try to achieve this but non seem to work, wanam xposed, xbackground, gravitybox.
Next i used Tickle my Android to decompile the framework, systemui and tw_framework apks from the rom. From the guides i have read i think i should be looking for tw_background_holo_dark.xml but i cant find this file anywhere or a .png version (i guess these guides are for older android versions).
So i have edited various other files that i think relate to the settings background, active_background.xml, active_background_holo_dark.xml to transparent and solid colors and others but nothing affect the settings background. I also tried deleting the xmls and replacing them with .pngs of the same names and in different drawable folders.
I used Tickle my Android to make zips to flash and also put the edited framework apk back in to the rom folder and flashed the full rom but nothing works.
So before i waste a few more hours i will ask for a nudge in the right direction if anyone can help. Thank you

[Q] Patching Slayhers CM7 SystemUI For Transparent Status bar, HELP!

Ok For the last week i have been running the beautiful theme Meizu for CM7 theme chooser. Now I have been trying to create my patch for a transparent status bar. I have been using the Patcher App From Here And Using this Tutorial From Here
Now I have the latest apktool.jar downloaded swapped it in with the One the Came with Zdune's Patch because i dont know how outdated the one that came with the patcher is.
Now the Patcher Works Fine For Decompiling the apk, It tells me to make sure i have both the Framework-res and systemui on my desktop.
So i go through all the steps correctly, I even triple double check to see if ive edited the Statusbarservice.smali correctly and ive done this numerous times. Everything runs smoothly, Even compiling and signing the SystemUI.apk but no matter what i do When i push the modded SystemUI.apk over to my phone it doesnt work. I dont know if there is something wrong with the apktool.jar or if its not signing correctly hell i dont even know if its renaming anything while recompiling.(which i have read elsewhere that it is a common issue.)
The reason im asking for help is because im a graphic designer and im pretty good at reading tutorials and debugging. So im not dumb by any means. And i want to design my own theme. And my theme will have a transparent status bar.
I have attached my unmodded systemui and framework if someone would like to help patch this for me, Or even guide through the process to show me what im doing wrong.
BUMP! Really Nobody?!!!

Proper themeing

Im currently running Unnamed v1.3.2 (UKK6, 2.3.4)
And im trying to port the SHOStock ICS theme(2.3.6) to it.
Im wondering if its as simple as opening the proper apks(framework, systemui, settings, etc.) from the ICS THEME zip and copy out all the image files into my roms same apk files and then copy them over onto the phone.
I noticed a few things worked just from copying the apk, like copying the phone.apk from the ics theme to my rom,no errors, etc. But some things didnt work out. For example for the framework apk i copied all the contents inside over(images and xml files) and most of it themed out, but alot of stuff was off, like on popup dialogs, the buttons were have cut off in the window box. So im wondering if i JUST copy the image files, would that work? Or is it more complicated?

It's not that simple. They're different files, so you can't just copy all of the images over. What you can do though, is replace the images in your apks that exist (so you get an overwrite/replace prompt). This typically works best for major things (like signal bars, network indicators, sound profile icons), and may not work so well for things that need accompanying code edits (like replacing the "clear" notifications button with the "X" from ICS. I'm not really verse in all things theming, so maybe someone with additional info will chime in). Some apks will work on 2.3.4, unmodified. When I was on 2.3.4 UnNamed, the settings apk worked fine without changing it. This will be true with some of the "non-system" apks (phone, contacts, settings, etc.). Technically, those are system apks, but for my purposes I make a distinction between the two.
Essential system apks (framework-res, SystemUI, and any other files that won't work across roms)
Non-essential system apks (phone, contacts, calculator, etc.)
- These are files that may work across roms if both bases are Samsung
*Review Jivy's thread on theming (in Themes & Apps).

Custom Icons

I have started playing with custom icons recently an was curious, where can one find the stock icon.png file? I have a lot of apps on my phone like DrexelOne (for my college) which no one has made customs of, because of this I need the stock image to use as a base for my custom one. Other unpacking the .apk and removing the the icon.png is there a way to reach these?
Thanks ahead of time, I think this will help many more rookies than just me!

Are you asking where that default icon is that only shows up when the app has no specified icon? That would be either in framework.res or com.htc.resources. Both of those apks are in /system/framework.
No I'm asking in general is there a way to take an application's icon and use it as the base for a custom one? For example: Can I somehow get the SuperUser icon .pgn file so that I can take it into paint and edit it, then use ApexLauncher to edit the icon shown on my home screen?
Maybe I'm simplifying the steps to much, but can't you make 72x72pixel .pgn and use ApexLauncher to to make that new icon the icon the shows up?

[Q] cant decompile or compile mianogen theme for cm10.1

I love a theme for cm10.1 (10.2) but there are a few little things i would like to personalise such as software keys, settings icon and statusbar pulldown bar, i have tried to decompile the theme's apk in apk manager (5.0.2) then it says there is a problem then tells me to look in the log but before i did that it decompiled, so i looked in projects folder and changed a few of the things i said earlier then compiled it which also said there was a problem but compiled anyway. When i installed the apk it was the same as normal mianogen! what have i done wrong? thanks for reading

[Q] XML edits don't work in SystemUI.apk

Hey all. I am new to xml editing and am aware that this can be done via xposed framework and such but I want to learn to do things on my own.
I was trying to simply center the status bar clock and after multiple attempts with the clock location not changing via the xml edits, I decompiled, changed only the clock text hex color value, recompiled, installed, and even that didn't change. What could be causing this, and where is SystemUI.apk reading from if not from the edited /res/layout/status_bar.xml?
The device, for reference, is a Galaxy S4 rooted running Safe Strap, but I have tried modding the SystemUI.apk on the stock/rooted slot as well as a rom on a safestrap slot.
Thanks in advance.
Bump. Is there no one who has themed 4.3 that can chime in? Simple xml edits should work but i have tried everything i can think of and researched extensively. I am perplexed. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
