[Q] Maximum SD card size? - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have tried a 64GB card which seemed to not work at all.
Does anyone know the max size supported by out old trusty Tablet Z (SGP311 version here)?

Works good with 128Gb card.
But card needs to be formatted inside tablet, and latest firmware should be installed (Android 5.0.2-5.1.1).
Maybe it will work with some earlier firmwares, but no guarantee.

Micro SD Card for creating a goldcard?

Hi All - I tried to make a goldcard for rooting my HTC Hero (Three UK with latest ROM) over the weekend, but had no luck - it seems the memory card I own (an 8gb Kingston card from ebay, so may be a fake) doesn't work.
Can anyone recommend a memory card brand & size that will *definitely* work for creating a goldcard?
Thanks for any help
The 2GB one that is packaged with the phone works fine.

+1. The stock 2GB one is a known good one. Kingston 2GBs also supposedly work, but I can't personally vouch for it (never had to use one in anger- my phone came with HBOOT 004)
my stock sd doesnt work
I know it doesn't address the goldcard issue, but try these updated instructions to flash a custom recovery.

Follow the text instructions mainly - treat the video as a rough reference.

format ur SD card..
if that doesnt fix.. i need to know brand name.. and what class card it is..
does it show up as the correct size in the stock rom?
Try just attaching it to your computer via reader. If it still shows 14GB, try and format. If it still shows 14GB, it's defective (or fake. Did you buy it from Hong Kong via eBay?).

My class 10 card is working just fine...
My class 10 works fine too. It is a 32g Sandisk, it reads 29.81g of total space on my phone and my computer. It seems like the photo galley loads faster and scrolls through the fullscreen view pretty fast. The read_ahead_kb file reads only 512. I haven't tried any other values because i am very happy with the card.
Well to be honest i'm not sure what class it is.
It was in another phone that my dad gave me to sell on ebay. I just kept the card that was inside.
It's a 32GB Sandisk.
I'll try a partition program tonight on my computer si if it fixes it.
If I try to partition it via the Clockworkmod, the lowest I got was 10GB and the max I got was 14.77GB depending on the settings i choose

Use a formatting tool, like the one HP has (see here) to format the disk. It can wipe the full disk and create a single partition. It could be that it was split previously for some reason, causing the issue you have.
If I put back the microSD in the Samsung Focus and format it, it shows the 32GB on the card (37GB with internal memory)
and then I take the card out and put it in my Fascinate and it shows 13.94GB
If that makes a difference i'm on Cyanogenmod 7. Maybe it's the OS limiting the space?
Any idea about this issue?
Format the card with a low-level formatting tool, like the HP Format tool. It's likely that it could be partitioned, or has a partition table that isn't setup in a format compatible with Android.

I tried to remove the card reboot system shut it down then inset the card, I tried also a factory reset but no result. You have a Xperia Tablet S no Sony Tablet S because JellyBean is only for the XTS, a lot of users are confuse by this and even brick their devices trying to install JB....
Did you tried with another SD Card?
Regards!

Working folders binding?

Since at last I had to buy the Italian 32 GB version of Moto Z (instead of a 64 GB I liked more...), I provided it with a 128 GB Lexar 1000x microSD BUT it could be interesting more if I could "remap" (bind...) some folders from internal storage to external one...
On my old LG P880 (4X HD) I used an app called "Directory bind" that worked quite well... but since it has not so updated recently, I tested it on my Z and it doesn't work at all.
It seems working BUT no real remapping has been done. I've double checked all MM permissions but with no success.
So, I'm asking... is there somebody who knows a working solution (eventually by Xposed too...) to successfully bind folders on Moto Z/MM?
No one?
