[Q] Root Info

Hello,
I just swapped form the Evo to the Photon and i am wanting to root the device. I am reading through development section and I am a little lost compared to what i dealt with my Evo. I see Root and Bootloader. Can I root the phone and not unlock the bootloader (I am wanting 4g). Or when I root i will loose 4g. Thanks for any information you can provide.
No if you root you WILL NOT lose 4G
But IF YOU UNLOCK BOOTLOADER YOU WILL LOSE 4G
and you CAN root without unlocking the bootloader ...
follow this guide..

Yes download dolphin browser HD download the photon-torpedo.tar
Make sure u do this all from ur phone not computer
make sure u download the file to internal memory of phone, settings storage change to internal
download terminal emulator from market. MAKE SURE U DOWNLOAD SUPERUSER FROM MARKETB FIRST AND BUSYBOX AND BUSYBOX INSTALLER ...NOW..... follow the root procedure people use for terminal EMULATORmethod ,IT TAKES 45 SECONDS IF U SEE FATAL ERROR DURING PROCESS THIS IS FINE YOU HAVE ROOT BUT AFTER U SEE THAT GO TO BUSYBOX INSTALLER AND INSTALL BUSYBOX...THEN TEST ROOT
BOOTLOADER STAYS LOCKED NO ROM FLASHING JUST TETHER AND ROOT APPS WORK

Every Android phone/tablet Rooting methods are same?

Hi!
Can you please tell me each and every android device rooting methods are same? Are there any app that can use for root any device that have Android ginger-bird or latest version?
thanks!
Not at all there are many different methods for different phones, for example my LG i was able to root with GingerBreak (App) however my HTC I had to first unlock the bootloader then root then install a recovery, still haven't done the S-Off part either so HTC is a little more complex. It all depends on your model there are methods that will work for MOST htc for example or different methods that will work for MOST LG. check the forum for your phone here on xda and there should be a guide

Kingroot on locked Moto E 2nd gen?

Hello, all. Just purchased a new Moto E 2nd gen from Boost Mobile today... I was just wondering if it is possible to just root the phone with KingRoot, without actually unlocking the bootloader? I don't want to risk accidentally bricking my phone or causing any issues.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Based off what can be done on the bootloader-locked AT&T/Cricket XT1527 and Verizon XT1528, it is possible to get temp root via Kingroot, but you'll end up losing it after reboot and /system remains read-only. Not very useful for root apps, no custom recovery, no xposed.
The Boost variant can be officially bootloader unlocked from Motorola via the Moto Bootloader Unlock program. The official unlock program carries 0 risk of accidentally bricking your phone, as the unlock code given by Moto either works (allowing you to flash TWRP and install root via that), or doesn't (absolutely no changes are made to the phone).

[Q] Is it possible to just root the HTC Desire 601?

Hi all!
I am going to buy a new smartphone and the HTC DEsire 601 seems ok for my usage. Moreover it looks really good, i like it. Before getting it, however, i totally need to be sure about one thing: is it possible to simply root the phone?
I have read several threads here and all of them suggest to start by unlocking the bootloader as a first step and as a second step you can get root access. I would like to keep the bootloader locked and i don't think i will need to get S-OFF. So my question is, if i keep my phone bootloader-locked and S-ON, can i get root access?
Root is really important for me because there are 3-4 fundamental apps that i use and these require root access. Is there anyone who have found himself/herself in this situation? Which root method can work direcltly on a brand new HTC desire 601 running jelly bean? Any personal experience?
Thanks in advance,
bye

To root your phone you need to unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and flash the latest SU binaries.
If its not to late, I would avoid the desire 601. Not really reliable. 4 of my friends got this one and they all had problems. 2 of them died when on charge (defective motherboard ----> qhsusb_dload mode). Another one is having issue with wifi not being able to turn on, he must power off the phone, remove the sim and sd card and reboot each time the wifi hangs. They all had the infamous battery drain issue which they solved using some Xposed mod. So on 4 devices, 4 of them were having software problem (battery drain) and 3 of them had hardware problem....

Root/boot loader unlock

Wanting to root Alcatel Fierce (model #5049z) and trying to discover whether boot loader is "locked". Read all the posts here concerning this phone and still don't know whether it can be rooted (yet). This is a fairly new phone and information for/about it is sparse. Anyone familiar with this phone and can offer up some vital stats/information or where I might obtain the information? This phone has "unlock boot loader" option, but not sure it works? HELP!!!!!! [Android 7.0]
THANX:
Rick
This does have a oem unlock option yet king root or kingo root doesnt work lol anyways I just picked one of these phones up today and looks like I will have to create my own root and hell mise well get a working twrp in order too. Back to the kitchen!
Just check whether bootloader is unlocked using fastboot.
Use rooting tools after unlocking.
Thats the plan, I planned on creating a way to root then once rooted I can make a full dump if all the partitions of the phone with fire flash then off to deodexing and debloating the system and placing SuperSU in the system so no more issues with root
I will like to know the working method as well i have turned on that option to unlock the bootloader but i have failed to google anything that actually works I have tried iroot, rootme, SRSRoot for Android and none of them was able to root the device
Anything yet?
Has anyone going out anything on this phone. Would like to be able to change a few settings on this phone. Thanks.
