Rooting gone wrong! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my unlocked Nexus 5 two weeks ago since it was the only way to upgrade OS. The root was successful. Then, I downloaded an app to boost a my device's performance with requested root access which I allowed, but once it was done "optimizing", video playback was extremely laggy. Therefore, I went to restore the Nexus from a TWRP recovery I had installed, but I didn't have a backup. Later, I ended up deleting my OS then I tried re-installing the OS transferring the factory image to the Nexus and other methods, but no luck. But then I installed a different recovery replacing the TWRP recovery. Now I'm trying to fastboot install the necessary files(zips, .imgs) but have not had success. Any help if my device is bricked or not? And if not how to install the necessary files? Please its my first phone haha

HELP!! No system partition... need full rom

So I decided to unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP, i knew that unlocking it would wipe the data but what happened to me was that after trying to reboot into the system and install SuperSU it would always return to recovery and now it says no OS detected. So now i have to flash a completely stock image and i dont have one. Can anyone help???
EDIT: Used the restore tool(cant remember who by) and it worked fine.
Official twrp does not support squashfs which the new system is in, here is an unofficial build from the twrp forum on the lg g watch

Please help me fix completely bricked Micromax Canvas A311

So, I kind of rooted my device using Kingo Root and it wasn't successful (I guess). So, in fastboot mode, I tried OEM unlock and it didn't work too; but anyway, I flashed TWRP recovery into my phone and through that I tried to install CM 13,14 custom ROMs which was completely unsuccessful. It doesn't allow me to install any ROM. And says that root privilege is lost. And now, all that I have access to is a phone stuck in bootloop and TWRP which doesn't allow me anything to do because apparently root access is lost. :crying:
I tried every method of flashing via YGDP tool and it is stuck at 'entering download mode'. I have installed different drivers over and again to fix as suggested by different threads but still, it's the same. [Windows 8.1] . And is there any other tool to flash this same stock ROM or better, can I get root access again in a bricked device and install a custom ROM any way?:fingers-crossed:
I also have access to ADB sideload via TWRP, so can I get stock ROM in .zip format. So far, I can only find it in .CPB format; maybe I can use .zip stock ROM via ADB sideload to flash it. Please help if any of this is possible.
*Apology for such a long question but I think you guys must know everything in order to provide me with a fix*
It's fixed.

Its fixed now, I assume it was because of the ROM file being downloaded through chrome in phone, I downloaded ROM and GApps in PC and flashed through TWRP and bam! Its back on:laugh:
TWRP - 2.4.4
ROM - Resurrection Remix 5.7.2
Thanks anyways!

Updating Kindle Fire HDX 7 Android 4.4.4 to Android 6+

Hello, I have a rooted Kindle with Safestrap 4.01 (TWRP v2.7.1.0) and Android 4.4.4 (KitKat). I did that some time ago.
Now I want to update Android 4.4.4 to Android 6 or higher to run some apps on it.
I tried it with Lineage 14.1 Thor.
I wiped the device in Safestrap, installed the new firmware lineage-14.1-20200705-UNOFFICIAL-thor.zip, wiped Dalvik after it was done flashing and rebooted.
I also tried it with other Lineage versions but after rebooting it's only showing a black screen for 20+ minutes (the only one that seemed to work was Lineage 11 but it didn't update my Android version).
Am I doing something wrong? Maybe I go about it totally wrong but all tutorials tell me that's the way to go.
EDIT:
I almost bricked my system twice and I think I found the culprit. It might be Safestraps fault.
Now I'm trying to get a twrp recovery mode update but the fastboot mode doesn't let me use .img files
(doesn't recognize any devices and I already manually updated my Android ADB Interface driver a few dozen times but it still won't work - still a question mark above the device).
Is there a twrp zip file which I can use to install from Safestrap?

DESPERATELY NEEDING HELP!!! - Encrypted data

(sorry if posting in the wrong place)
Background:
A few months, after receiving my Mi Note 10 Lite Miui 11 to 12 update, I finally rooted the phone using the Magisk patched boot method. All fine.
A while ago, with the latest MIUI 12 minor update we got, I lost root again. Now I wanted to root it again, and tried to find if there was already a working TWRP for this phone.
What happened:
After googling a bit, I found a post on XiaomiEU that had instructions to install a working TWRP (to install the rom). So I followed the steps, flashing vbmeta and the twrp image. Rebooted to recovery and as it was installed, I rebooted to system. After that, the first problem. It would only boot the twrp, not system.
To fix this, I got the latest stock fastboot rom and installed it via miFlash (with flash_all_but_storage option). Managed to boot again to Miui. After doing the google restoring steps, I found out that all my internal storage files were encrypted.
What I've tried so far:
formatted data (not internal storage and data/media) and tried again
installed a different TWRP I found here in XDA that supposedly would decrypt the files (twrp-3.4.0-14-toco-mauronofrio). It asks for the encryption password when starting and I get a success message when entering the right password, but even in the recovery file manager the files are encrypted.
installing recovery rom through TWRP without formatting data
(side note: on system, the Xiaomi Cloud restore seems to be always stuck without restoring anything and there is no way to stop it)
Can anyone please help me get my files (photos and videos, more importantly) back? Is there any hope? The files are there and I know the password, there must be something I can do...
Thanks in advance
Do you want to keep MIUI or go to a custom rom ?

LG G5 help with unbricking

Hello,
I have a H830tmobile, have had LineageOS for the past 7 months, but recently figured out I didnt have TWRP when trying to find a system file. While trying to install it, I got dumb and bricked my phone.
Thankfully I unbricked it that time, installed vannila ROM H83020i and downgraded to H83020a. I downgraded because it didnt let me use most fastboot commands and couldn't flash TWRP(flashing,booting,...), keep in mind it didn't let me on LineageOS too.
After that I rooted it using Hard Recovwery Method and flashed TWRP. Everything was going great until now, I found out that my phone doesnt show up on PC while in TWRP, would show up without problems in adb or fastboot. After continuing on through the guide, I formatted data, went back to boot into system and got a message that encryption was unsuccesful. Rebooted back into TWRP, searched for a fix and factory reset the phone, didn't help. I read that I should reformat only the System to ext4, did that and phone is without OS and boots endlessly. While trying to go into recovery mode through fastboot commands, it only sends me into endless boot and I can not get into TWRP and even if I could, I wouldn't be able to flash LineageOS as my phone just doesn't show up on PC.
Is this saveable or not?
ok booted into vanilla os again through uppercut, gonna try flashing lineageos only this time
