Is there a way to create custom splash screens? (After unlocking, of course.) I know there is a way to replace the "bootloader unlocked" screen with the stock one, but is there a way to replace it with an image of my choice?

@VoLoDaR1: Your urls are identical I guess this was meant to be the second one.
@GearX: Before you can flash a replacement boot screen you need to replace your SPL with an unlocked one. I got mine from Modaco. See this thread. NB this is for the GSM Hero.
The boot image is just a screendump so 320x480 pixels. You can use this tool to convert an image to the required format.
Flashing the image can be done via fastboot: fastboot flash splash1 splash.raw565
See the Custom Splash Image thread.
As with all flashing, be careful, don't interrupt the process etc etc... you don't want to brick your phone.
Thank you. I think I already have a unlocked SPL... Is there anyway to check if SPL is modified or original?
*EDIT*
I already flashed it several times but I can not remeber if I did the SPL thing does flashing require a modified SPL? Then I already have it
*EDIT2*
Well I think I have it cause on my Fastbootscreen are 3 skateboarding Androids
I tried this manual: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467064
but there comes an error (see attachment)
Go into the bootloader: adb shell reboot bootloader
Read the top line. It should end in S-OFF if you have an unlocked SPL. I imagine in your case it reads S-ON & that's why you're getting an error report.
You were right cauli! I did the SPL unlock and it worked. Very nice thing. Here's my Bootscreen
Lol, I like it
thank you
It tells me that: os will boot in 5 secs.......and I see rsd, fastboot, and others on the screen and its really just a nuisance...any fix?
It said that to me after flashing a recovery. Flash and unlock a new bootloader? I didn't really bug me but the way i got rid of it was when i flashed a completely stock bell rom then unlocked my phone again and yeah. but i think flashing a new bootloader will fix it.
If all you're missing is the boot logo...

Is there anyway to change the boot up screen to another picture? Much like watermarking it. Like the HTC HD2:fingers-crossed: I currently have?
Requires and unsecure kernel that has that feature unlocked so you can load your own bootanimations.
I just got the new HTC One yesterday, I upgraded from a One X and had that rooted, unlocked , and flashed several roms back and forth.
Is this HTC One like the HTC One X for rooting and flashing custom recoveries?
Another question off this subject. But, is there any way to get rid of the Blink Feed without rooting

I don't know about the One X, but for the One, in general it's: unlock bootloader --> flash custom recovery --> anything you want (root/flash roms & modules/etc)
About the second question: your only option to get rid of Blinkfeed completely is to install a different launcher, but you'll lose Sense. You can also push Blinkfeed screen out of the way by making another screen as your home screen, and just pretend that that screen doesn't exist.

Sounds like the HTC one and the HTC One X is about the same, get token, unlock, flash recovery then whatever on the roms and mods.
I think thats what I did, pushed it over to another screen and don't use it. I don't like having multiple screeens but that is what I have . Guess maybe to get rid of it, is unlock, and flash another rom.
Thanks
So I just rebooted my phone and realized that on the boot screen it still had the word custom and the little open lock icon on my boot screen the same as when my boot loader. I did take latest update before realizing it would cause me to lose root and I do not have root access so I'm curious if the boot loader is really locked and the boot screen just doesn't change or what the deal is.

The latest OTA locks the bootloader and makes you lose root. It says Custom because of the flash counter (I assume). Mine said the same thing yesterday after uninstalling root that was obtained before taking the OTA so I could return the phone back to Verizon. Your bootloader is locked.
