Best Regards, Happy Cookling and Programing!
Hy all
I started this tread because the interest to android is growing
I invite all people with linux knowledge or C programing skills to join
If you know some hardware programing is better
We need
- developpers
- testers
i will not post an guide how to setup the compiler and set variables
if you dont know this stuff please stick to Google Android thread and dont post here stupid questions as IT IS READY / WHEN WILL IT BE READY
WE DO THIS IN OUR SPARE TIME AND WE HAVE FAMILY AND LIFE
So shell we invite the penguin to our phones?

Build Instructions for the ones that want to help
- Create working dir:
Code:
mkdir ~/android-kernel
- Go to the dir:
Code:
cd ~/android-kernel
- Clone the Linuxtogo GIT:
Code:
git clone git://git.linuxtogo.org/home/groups/mobile-linux/kernel.git
- Go into newly created dir:
Code:
cd ~/android-kernel/kernel
- Create a new branch, call it htc-msm and link it to the official htc-msm development branch:
Code:
- Descend into the "main" android dir:
Code:
cd ~/android-kernel
- Get toolchain:
Code:
wget http://www.codesourcery.com/gnu_too...-none-linux-gnueabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2
- maybe you need to rename the just downloaded file (because after .tar.bz2 wget has added ?lite=arm). (HINT FOR LINUX-NEWBIES: USE TAB TO COMPLETE KNOWN FILENAMES!! - In this case type: mv arm(TAB) arm(TAB) -> backspace till 'bz2' is the last word)
Code:
mv arm-2008q1-126-arm-none-linux-gnueabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2\?lite\=arm arm-2008q1-126-arm-none-linux-gnueabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2
- unpack the toolchain:
Code:
tar -xjf arm-2008q1-126-arm-none-linux-gnueabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2
- ascend again into the 'kernel' directory:
Code:
cd ~/android-kernel/kernel
- make the kernel:
Code:
git checkout -b htc-vogue origin/htc-vogue
You also have to use
Code:
make vogue_defconfig ARCH=arm
- export path so the newly downloaded toolchain will be used instead of your default compiler (which would compile for your computer instead of your phone):
Code:
export PATH=~/android-kernel/arm-2008q1/bin:$PATH
- make the zImage-file:
Code:
make zImage ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-
Now the zImage file is created inside the directory kernel/arch/arm/boot.
When uploading this to your phone, remember that you only have to replace the zImage after each kernel build - the Linux environment on top of the kernel can just stay the same, so initrd (which is the ramdisk filesystem) can stay the same.

hi,
i can be a tester... also i have some little linux knowledge...
I have limited knowledge of both c and linux, so I possibly could help.
It seems useful however to setup an SVN or something, so even 'non-registered' developers can write patches and submit them for review. You can set up such an SVN for free at assembla.com, together with a wiki, TRAC and more. They even say you can ask for more storage space and stuff if your project is an open-source project.
If you have such an SVN developers like me can help without making any false promises of some sort.
I hope you know what I mean, it sounded better in my head
i know linux and i can do beta tester. i'm studying engineering too.
i also know linux and a bit of C...i can do testing too.
as you already know, I'm in too for development...
i will try the new kernel asap...

I believe by the end of this year or somewhere in the beginning of 2009 Google is making a system for creating software input methods, which would theoretically allow us to write an application that would reroute direct hardware input. I think. We'll have to see what the future will (or the talented developers here) bring.

Hi guys, I would like to ask you what IDE's and other software I need to make and modify android roms. I am particularly looking at helping with ICS production. I know java and some C++ if this helps, I am unsure of what to use whether that be eclipse or some other IDE/SDk. Also there are a few file types I am unfamiliar with and want to know how to edit those such as .so's and other files. Thanks P500 community you guys are awesome D
If you haven't already, I'd highly reccomend setting up a build environment and trying to sync the cm repos. Once you have the code, you can play around and see what you need from there, in terms of an IDE.

Fantastic, I shall get onto that right away.
May the force be with you, bro!

Read some android books.you already know c++ and Java so you will become good dev.
For playing with code you need.
Ubuntu.
Notepad.
sdk & adb.
And this "good luck!"
Yeah! Actually even i am interested in learning.
I know c/c++. No java yet
I'll be finishing my exams on the 3rd of may and would have around 2 months of vacations to learn
So guidance would really be appreciated. Do we need a separate sdk for linux based os? I have sdk on windows, isnt that enough?
What is the advantage of using linux for android development? I have backtrack(ubuntu based) on vmware. Will it do?
Essential Software:
Ubuntu 11.10 (dual boot not virtual machine, it's too slow)
Eclipse IDE with the Android plugins
Meld (for easy directory compares)
Mastery of the terminal especially git / repo commands
Github account
CyanogenMod gerrit account
Google Plus account
I'm assuming you're coming from Windows since you don't know what a .so file is (like I did when starting). .so files are android's versions of .dll files. 'executables' don't have a file extension. Kernel modules use the .ko extension.
(I think .so means shared object, .ko means kernel object. Makes sense to me anyway )
The worst thing about starting is simply the sheer size of the project, it is a whole operating system we are dealing with here!
Start simple and easy, follow the instructions on how to make your own build and flash it. (and feel proud you have your own build string in about phone!) Then do it again without the instructions. (harder than it sounds )
The programming side may not be such a problem for you if you already know it. I didn't know anything. reading library files written in c++ ain't so bad, but getting used to how an android app is written in java was a huge mindf**k for me at first. It still is actually
I'm really just your average code hacker, I just hack based on educated guesses but I have taken copious notes on what I do and how things work. Seriously, I have two A5 notebooks full of lists, commands, file locations, diagrams and other tips I've found over the past 6 months.
Prepare to read a lot, be confused a lot, say WTF?!?!?! a lot, delighted when you make your first changes and they work, a ton of waiting for builds to finish and perhaps a bit nervous when you are ready to submit your first commit to CyanogenMod...
Can't we practice on something less taxing than the the whole cyanogenmod, like maybe some prebuilt system apps?
I have allocated 2.9gb of ram and enough cpu to my vm for it to run smoothly so speed isn't really an issue here
Will backtrack do or would ubuntu be better(backtrack is a network security related os based on ubuntu only)
And how important is java. I have two months of almost pure vacations(just have to make a project) so time wont be much of an issue and i'll anyway be doing java in a year or two at college so starting now wont be any harm.
BTW just curious why is g+ account an essentiality here?
Edit
Oh and yeah ill be switching from win to linux and that IS going to be a pretty big problem :/
I don't even properly know what a kernel is and what it does.
Edit2
Iv added you to my circles adfad please add me.

P.S. I'm using Ubuntu 11.10
EDIT: Ok, I think I've done something wrong syncing androidmeda sources.
What I've done is:
Code:
[email protected]:~$ cd WORKING_DIRECTORY
[email protected]:~/WORKING_DIRECTORY$ repo init -u git://github.com/androidmeda/cm_device_lge_p500.git
repo initialized in /home/francesco/WORKING_DIRECTORY
[email protected]:~/WORKING_DIRECTORY$ repo sync
Fetching projects: 100% (248/248), done.
Syncing work tree: 100% (248/248), done.
I've done this for git://github.com/androidmeda/cm_vendor_lge_p500.git and git://github.com/androidmeda/lge-kernel-msm7x27.git too. I can't see them though.
Solved the problem. Cloned androidmeda's device folder into device/lge/p500
EDIT2: FINALLY COMPILING!
EDIT3:
Code:
make: *** Nessuna regola per generare l'obiettivo "device/lge/p500/init.p500.usb.rc
It's 'No rule to make target'. I don't know what to do, I can't even find that file, but I've got a file called init.thunderg.usb.rc
Solved renaming init.thunderg.usb.rc to init.p500.usb.rc. It's compiling now

make: *** Attesa per i processi non terminati....
'No rule to make target "cyanogenmod_p500_defconfig". Stop'
Any idea?
When I've used make -i I haven't had this problem
EDIT: Solved moving cyanogenmod_p500_defconfig in p500 folder
Ok, I'm trying to tidy up everything a bit. I've noticed there is a new github. I've seen this:
Code:
LG P500 ICS Setup
Copy/paste it WORKING_DIR/.repo/local_manifest.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<manifest>
<project path="device/lge/p500" name="p500/cm_device_lge_p500" remote="github" revision="master" />
<project path="vendor/lge/p500" name="p500/cm_vendor_lge_p500" remote="github" revision="master" />
<project path="kernel/lge/p500" name="p500/lge-kernel-msm7x27" remote="github" revision="android-ics-msm-2.6.35" />
</manifest>
I have no local_manifest.xml. Do I have to create it? Or do I have to add these three lines to manifest.xml (which is in .repo folder)? And do I have to add toolchain too?
Question: if installing Ubuntu with wubi on Windows XP, will it show the dual-boot screen on every boot?(or else what shortcut?)
And does it need to defragment, or is it safe just like that?

If you understand anything:

I don't think it's good to install ubuntu to compile android in a virtual machine, I think the compilation would be too slow. I'm sorry I can't help you, I've installed ubuntu from a Live CD and I didn't have many problems with the installation process.
BTW, added the three lines to manifest.xml synced repo. It's compiling well using make -j4

if you have enough ram and a good enough processor there shouldnt be any problem in using a virtual machine. i use backtrack with 2.9/4gb ram and am able to use both windows7 and backtrack simultaneously without any problems/lag
I have an i5 2.3-2.9GHz
Sure it depends on what you want to compile. It was just a suggestion to compile faster. You probably won't notice lag, but it will take more to compile everything.
Hi guys,
My Atrix -> Xoom kernel port is complete. This is the nvodm version.
Right now I am trying to make a build of CM 9 based on my kernel and running into lots of hiccups
Yeap I am a noob so please bear with me. I am following the steps from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_olympus, and got stuck at the step "Prepare the device-specific code"
Code:
$ breakfast olympus
including vendor/cm/vendorsetup.sh
build/core/product_config.mk:189: *** _nic.PRODUCTS.[[device/*/olympus/cm.mk]]: "device/*/olympus/cm.mk" does not exist. Stop.

CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_olympus already exists
Syncing repository to retrieve project.

build/core/product_config.mk:189: *** _nic.PRODUCTS.[[device/*/olympus/cm.mk]]: "device/*/olympus/cm.mk" does not exist. Stop.
** Don't have a product spec for: 'cm_olympus'
** Do you have the right repo manifest?
I figure that the script is reaching out to the wrong repo at https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_olympus
It should probably go to https://github.com/Atrix-Dev-Team/android_device_motorola_olympus
Am I right?
How to I correct this problem?
Thanks in advance..

I think that the best way to solve this problem is pm someone that already build a rom from source as you wanna do.
Try to reach MMontuori or EPinter (both really kind and will help for sure) by pm, just a tip hehe.
Hope you can build it, best of luck.
Sorry but this mean that we have a new kernel to get full cm9/10/10.1 roms? W/o All the bugs like the videocam...?
Thanks for the hard work!

Your kernel is booting?
Its a full port from Xoom or you are using the leaked Kernel?
Able to retrieve logs from USB?
Whats your status?
This is very important, because there is another porting project running (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016837) and maybe your kernel source is better to keep up than the one they are trying to port.
Please... communicate!
Thanks!

Hey matbarni; take it easy and read the first post, not only the title.
It's not a matter of communication; If you can see the thread of the porting, you'll see some posts from user toyota86, which said he was working but in other branch because he has his reasons for it.
Please don't jump into conclussions and try to help, we all are struggling for an usable kernel; and EVERY help is welcome.
I'm sure any of the developers have contacted him by now or he tried to contact the developers, but he wants to see if anyone can give him a quick tip.
Enough. I'll shut my mouth off
Sorry guys. My mind was hazy when I posted that late last night.
What I meant by "complete" was that it simply built. That's it
Some early sanity testing of my kernel with CM7 resulted in a hang. Yes, I agree with most of you that the next logical thing to do is to flash That ROM and fastboot with my kernel. This can be a quick test. But I am a little suspicious the Bionic libraries may need to be rebuilt as well.
I have already sought advice from our Guru mmontuori and he has told me Kernel modules need to be rebuilt.
SO... lets build the whole she-bang

you will need a build without the errata hack in board config, like the cm10 based on the leak. or build using my jb-olympus-new branch.
you can remove all the kernel modules if your defconfig follows android standard...

I did not jump into conclusions.
As you can see, all I posted was questions. And yes, I read what toyota86 posted.
Like "Right now I am trying to make a build of CM 9 based on my kernel and running into lots of hiccups".
The way I am helping is to try to clarify to all users what this post is about.
Thanks for all the support guys
As much as I don't want you guys to be dissapointed, but dont put too much hope as to the outcome of my effort.

Glad you have been working on this.I tried but abandoned due to insufficient knowledge. atrix was the best buy I've made in years.had it for 3 yes now and thanks to you and others it will live on. Im a trigger happy tester i try every ROM I see and can't wait to try yours.

Thank you sir. One question though..
Which errata hack were you referring to? Errata 657451 in the motorola's version of the bionic library? Eg...
In motorola's bionic, we see workarounds like this:
Code:
/* BEGIN MOT GB UPMERGE, a5705c, 12/21/2010 */
# ifdef HAVE_TEGRA_ERRATA_657451
# define __munge_tls(_v) ( ((_v)&~((1ul<<20)|1ul)) | (((_v)&0x1)<<20) )
# else
# define __munge_tls(_v) (_v)
#endif
/* END MOT GB UPMERGE */
Description of this errata:
Code:
config TEGRA_ERRATA_657451
bool "Store bit 20 of CP15 TLS register c13,3 in bit 0"
depends on ARCH_TEGRA_2x_SOC && HAS_TLS_REG
default y
help
This option enables a workaround for the 657451 Tegra 2 errata
which causes unreliable reads from bit 20 of the thread storage
register c13, 3 (used by the __set_tls system call). It stores the
value intended for bit 20 into bit 0 instead; in most user-space
environments, the value saved by __set_tls is an aligned address,
so repurposing bit 0 will not cause ill effects.
In my noob'ish understanding, there is a hardware related bug in our Atrix Tegra 2 SOC that causing data corruption in Thread Local Storage (TLS). Researching this on the net, some ppl were talking about a possibility of a buggy version of this hardware in Atrix. It is also worth noting that this workaround however is NOT present in Stingray's kernel & bionic.
I don't think I remember seeing this workaround in CM's bionic, which is one of my initial concerns..I will look further at home tonight..
Errrrm... Isn't the Bionic a TI OMAP device?
can you post your kernel so others can test it? i have minimal knowledge but would love to help with testing

Hi guys,
My Atrix -> Xoom kernel port is complete.
Code:
$ breakfast olympus
including vendor/cm/vendorsetup.sh
build/core/product_config.mk:189: *** _nic.PRODUCTS.[[device/*/olympus/cm.mk]]: "device/*/olympus/cm.mk" does not exist. Stop.

Found repository: android_device_motorola_olympus
CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_olympus already exists

build/core/product_config.mk:189: *** _nic.PRODUCTS.[[device/*/olympus/cm.mk]]: "device/*/olympus/cm.mk" does not exist. Stop.
** Don't have a product spec for: 'cm_olympus'
** Do you have the right repo manifest?
I figure that the script is reaching out to the wrong repo at https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_motorola_olympus
It should probably go to https://github.com/Atrix-Dev-Team/android_device_motorola_olympus
Am I right?
How to I correct this problem?
Thanks in advance..

How did you solve this? I am trying to build for coconut (SE Live With Walkman) and stuck at breakfast.
Hi guys, a couple days ago, i spent hours sifting through pages of google searches to find the EASIEST stuff about kernel patches. This guide will be updated slowly, be patient! I welcome the help and input from the community, please feel free to pm me (to make sure i get the message ). Let me start off by saying that I will not be able to fix all the problems that you get from patching, but i have no doubt that someone in this awesome community can. So enjoy!
Patching your linux kernel!
Alright guys, i am gonna cover INCREMENTAL patches, these are fairly easy and won't take much of your time. If you plan on doing a more major update, i.e. 2.x --> 3.x, i suggest you go elsewhere because this guide WILL NOT help you.
Another important note, all 3.x updates are incrimental, you cannot skip a patch. Meaning, if i want to patch a 3.0.58 kernel to 3.0.60, i have to patch .58->.59 and then .59->.60. That took me a while to figure out which is why i brought it up early .
LETS GET STARTED!
First, get a nice kernel, one that you know compiles correctly and works, for the most part. Check the makefile, it should be in the root of the directory. Open up the makefile, in my kernel, i see this:
Code:
VERSION = 3
PATCHLEVEL = 0
SUBLEVEL = 63
Ok, it looks like we have a kernel source that's on 3.0.63. Awesome, this should be simple enough. We need 2 patches, one to go up to .64 and the next to .65.
Go HERE and download the .bz2 of what you need. In this case, i am going to download patch-3.0.63-64.bz2 and patch-3.0.64-65.bz2. You'll need to "save link as" to download the files or you can you the lftp command in terminal if you know how to use that. Anyway.
Here is where the terminal fun starts, lets unpack those files so we have the patches. CD into wherever you downloaded the files and run
Code:
bzip2 -dv insertpatchname.bz2
Obviously, you change insertpatchname to your file name. You run that for as many patches you need to do.
Good, now we have the patches. Linux loves us and made it really simple to apply those patches. All you have to do is
Code:
patch -p1 > ~/path/to/the/patch
If you did it right, give you a wall of text telling you that its patching files. NICELY DONE. If you want to confirm that the patch was sucessful, go back to you makefile, you should see that your sublevel is higher. For each additional patch, just repeat the last two steps!
As always, i can't guarantee that these patches won't break compatibility but thats when the fun starts, right?
Wow, nice, you just patched your very own kernel! In the next post, we'll learn how to do the same thing, but instead, we'll cherry-pick those commits from github. PM and Post for any comments, questions, blah, blah. As always, donations are not required but they'll be paying for a new processor to replace my 1.6ghz single core crap. Thanks are appreciated!
Reserved for Github Stuff
I want this one!
Nice, just what I was looking for! Tnx

No problem, i am happy it was helpful!
Ques:
Say I put the patch in the top of the kernel dir and I cd to the kernel dir, should this work?
Code:
patch -p1 > ~/patch-3.0.49-50
That will work as long as the patch is in ~/
SailfishOS (SFOS) is a GNU+Linux system using libhybris to leverage Android drivers from LineageOS.
About everything should work (except NFC, no userspace support for now).
You're root and you've SSH, set password in developer-mode settings. Use devel-su like you'd use sudo !
To use/flash SFOS (no wipe needed), you should already be using LineageOS 14.1 20181031 build or newer,
and have booted it at least once (otherwise WLAN problems).
See latest release post for OTA update instructions, or flash ZIP download link.
Warning : flashing zip over previous SFOS install erases it ! So use OTA to avoid that, or use integrated backup app...
Note : SFOS only flashes boot partition and install itself in /data/.stowaways/sailfishos/ so :
you can go back to LineageOS only by flashing the LOS boot image
you can reclaim diskspace used SFOS by removing /data/.stowaways/sailfishos/

This is a SailfishOS community port for the 6045 idol3.
This is not Android (just re-using the lower layers), Android apps can't run on it and there's no support for official-ports-AlienDalvik-emulator.
So please don't ask.
During installation, you'll be asked to create a Jolla account, to have access to basic apps (notes, mediaplayer, documents, etc.).
This is not mandatory (though prefered for the full experience) : should you choose not to register (and even if you do),
you still can install an alternative store using OpenRepos client Storeman

Hello, installed version 3, everything works fine, data transfer, wifi, all sensors (including case), location, mtp, calls and SMS. There were only problems with the store, some applications are not installed the first time, you have to install again, and so great work is another alternative for the smartphone, thank you.

I have installated seilfish os some time ago in my moto g2 and the battery life and boot speed its superior then any version of android ... ?
A very fast, fluid, and consistent UI in this ROM. An interesting one to play with. (However, for my needs, I need the PlayStore apps.)
I now understand how your work on Lineage was a foundation for this one.
I am curious Vknecht, what is your interest in this one?

It's all politics, also it's the system I use daily
some sort of hommage to a french industry of old (1898), rough-rided by financialization (see, can't build idol3 themselves)
fighting planned obsolescence
taking the power back on a device
powering it with an OS independent from GAFAM
having closer to classical GNU+Linux distro, though not totally open in the case of SFOS
Since 2010 I've been a Nokia N900 then N9 user (which ran with Maemo, resp. Meego, predecessors to SailfishOS) until summer 2017 when I got a Xperia X for the SailfishX release. Only ever used Android for a month, until the build-SFOS-for-X documentation was released and dived in the OS-building fun...
At the beginning of 2018 I looked for a cheap and decent french-branded-androphone (2Gb RAM, HD display) with a working LineageOS port and found the idol3 to begin a new SFOS port. It's been a long 8 months journey, where rebuilding LineageOS if only for the patch-level was not much, then also wanted to "upstream" some fixes or upgrades (eg. kernel) I wanted in SFOS...
I started using my idol3 again and I love Sailfish OS as soon as I figure out android apps im gonna use it alot more
Everything work fine, but the double tap to wake up the telephone.
Hi vknecht, great job, how can I contribute (donation) to your work? I've installed everything except Anbox, but I think I'll do it anyway, most of my contacts use Wzap ... Everything works fine except for the double tap to wake up the phone, do you know what it can depend on? Is it a function of hardware or software? With Lineage it worked, with Sailfish no. It's not dramatic, but definitely inconvenient to have to use the power switch every time. Thank you.
Best regard.
Antonio from Italy.

Any chance of seeing it on the Idol 3 4.7 ? It would give me a good reason to use it again. It's okay if not it's just sad that there's no updated ROM for this version... I could beta test it if you ever do that

Hello, and thank you for the heads up on dt2w... so I had a look, and found how to enable it
(make sure developer mode is enabled and you've set or checked the password)
Code:
host $ ssh [email protected]
,---
| Sailfish OS 3.0.1.11 (Sipoonkorpi)
'---
[[email protected] ~]$ devel-su
Password:
[[email protected] nemo]# echo 1 > /sys/class/tp_gesture/tp_device/tp_gesture_id
[[email protected] nemo]# printf "[EVDEV]\nKEY_APP_SWITCH=KEY_POWER\n" > /etc/mce/99-doubletap-idol3.ini ; systemctl restart mce
The echo command has to be issued when the screen is on, and each time you reboot, for now (don't know why it's not already set to 1 like in LOS)
The printf and systemctl are only needed once to create the configuration file and restart the service.
Hopefuly you'll see no battery drain, so it can be enabled by default in the future...
For donations, maybe it will be possible later.

One thing I could do is try building LOS 14.1 with idol347 defconfig, but afaik it's not really working.
Otherwise one could follow the SailfishOS HADK using a working CyanogenMod base and I'd be glad to help, but don't have time to start it myself at the moment.
Thanks!

Thanks a lot, it worked! I will pay attention to the the battery drain and will informe you. Just another question: i see your OS version is 3.0.1.11, mine is 3.0.0.8 (Lemmenjoki) is it convenient for me to update it? if yes, in what way? The device is a Idol 3 6045K dual-sim, no external sdcard on board.
Thanks again, greet from Italy.

You're welcome For now I don't see any drain, let's hope it stays like this.
I found out that the ini file is not necessary if one sets tp_gesture_id to 2, but still have to set this value on boot
and/or find why it's not the same as in LineageOS by default.
3.0.1.11 release for idol3 is still in devel phase, once it's ready (~ one week or so) it will be published in testing phase and then you'll be able to do
OTA through commandline.
One can flash a devel-image, but then can't rely on OTA : will have to re-flash a testing-image or do risky/unsupported repository-switch.
Those are generally built using SailfishOS porters' Gitlab-CI group, latest being the 20190227 devel image
SailfishOS 3.0.1.11 beta3
Backup...
Update using OTA : the integrated graphical updater doesn't work for community ports
Easiest is to install sfos-upgrade either through Storeman or direct RPM dowload.
Flash image : (erases previously installed SailfishOS)
sailfishos-idol3-release-3.0.1.11-20190321-beta3.zip
Changes :
SailfishOS 3.0.1.11 release notes (points specific to officially supported devices don't apply)
Kernel : enabled Yama security module
Enabled doubletap to wake
Sorry, Anbox confirmed to NOT work, have to check required overlayfs support, maybe broken with the kernel updates.

Sorry to hear that... does it happen regularly/systematically and quite early after boot, or after (somehow) extensive usage, especially browser ?
I supposed you tried with flashing as well as OTA ?
A known cause for reboot is fixed in this build (and beta2 iirc) by an updated connman package ("rpm -qi connman" shows ip6tfix in version).
Maybe it's related to Yama security, will make a build without it...
Arbitrary reboots, after the introduction of the account and login starts hanging and rebooting, I immediately rolled back to the backup and did not understand why this is happening.

Could you try flashing the ZIP inside the artifact from this devel build ?
It uses the same kernel as 3.0.0.8, ie. without yama, pstore and iirc RTC write support...
This build works fine, no reboots. Thanks.
SailfishOS 3.0.1.11 beta4
Update from any previous betas using OTA :
has to be done from commandline (on device or through SSH, USB prefered) since the graphical client in settings doesn't support community ports.
Code:
# Install sfos-upgrade package like this, or through Storeman
curl -O https://openrepos.net/sites/default/files/packages/5928/sfos-upgrade-2.4-1.noarch.rpm
devel-su
pkcon install-local sfos-upgrade-2.4-1.noarch.rpm
sfos-upgrade 3.0.1.11
reboot
# Patience, it takes an additional reboot to flash boot partition
# Go to commandline again and run :
devel-su post_sfos-upgrade
or install by flashing sailfishos-idol3-release-3.0.1.11-20190329-beta4.zip
(this replaces previously installed SailfishOS and SailfishOS-data, backup if needed)
Changes
Fall back to previous kernel
Hey mate, great job! Everything worked fine with sfos-upgrade from command line! Thanks a lot!!!
Just a question... I haven't prediction text, it's normal? Thanks again.
