I just got my C5 Ultra Dual 3 days ago... and the main disappointment of this phablet is the battery. Because the battery drains really fast, so i have to charge it twice a day. Actually it doesn't really matter, but this phone really have a super sloooow charging. When i checked the desktop charger, it only give 850 mAh output (meanwhile other phones' official charger alreade give 1,5-2 A output).
I'm thinking of buying Sony EP881 Fast Charging (1,5A output), does it really charges C5 faster?
or do you know any other "faster" charger that compatible for our C5?

I tried to charge using my old Zenfone 5 charger (1.35A) and it is indeed faster, my friend's Z1 also charges faster.
But when I use my iPad Air charger (2.4A) it's slow just like the desktop charger (850 mA).
So yeah because of this mixed results, I'd also like to know how fast it would charge with the EP881.

Oh dear. There are two options.
1 - Try returning the phone to the nearest Sony dealer. Show the original receipt which will show the device is new and still under warranty. Hopefully they can resolve the issue.
2 - Sony may ask you to return it to the shop where it was bought. Unfortunately you may have to return it to the shop you bought it from in Dubai Airport. They will most likely send the unit off to Sony for repair or replacement.
That said, try option 1, much more convenient. Hopefully they can solve your problem without having to mess about returning it to the original shop which happens to be in another country! Otherwise you may even have to ship the item along with the receipt to the shop. Once they receive the unit they will advise you on what they will do and how long it will take for it to be fixed/replaced. Once that has been completed, they will need to ship it back to you.
Either way, good luck and let us know what happens!
Bought this phone when I was in Thailand when I killed my Nexus 6 by walking into the ocean while it was in my pocket..lol. Anyways, the phone is slow at charging, not like my Nexus 6 which takes only 15 mins to charge fully. I switched to the Motorola Nexus 6's turbo charger and my C5 is charging A LOT faster. Standard charging is 5V @1.6A, Turbo 1 is 9V @ 1.6A, and Turbo 2 is 12V @ 1.2A. Not sure if the C5 is a Turbo charging enabled device but it's definitely charging way faster than the stock charger.

I've used my old Samsung charger that came with my old s4 and the charger puts out 5.0v at 2amps. And I used it on the original z ultra and I tested it on my new c ultra and it works great however I have realized that these particular phablets really don't charge that fast and from my experience they never have but they are at best average when it comes to charging. Oh by the way I also have the original Sony charger u s version and I see vary little differents in the amount of time it takes to charge
But will it damage the battery or affect the battery life if we use a 2A-5V charger??

Not at all.
I use various chargers (Anker, Samsung, LG, Apple) and all of them work better than original, but you should leave the phone idle when charging.

The phone charges on maximum ampere it can take (~2A) no matter the charger is 100A as long as the output stays 5V.

I played Candy Crush Saga when charging. The phone can be hot but it doesn't make your hands uncomfortable.
What happens if we change charger means sometimes use 2A charger, sometimes 1A or 1.5A
The amp rating on chargers are the max it can output. It doesn't mean it has to output that. Your phone's charge circuitry will control the current it actually draws. So there is absolutely no danger to use a higher amperage charger with your phone. However, I found that no matter what charger I use, including those rated up to 2.4A, the C5 is very slow to charge. It takes a lot longer to charge compared to any other phone I've had in the past. I'm going to get a current monitoring device to check actual current draw.
A side note: avoid REV (sold on BestBuy) external battery because the phone refuses to charge while Asus 10050mAh and TSST 5Ah and 10Ah external battery charge fine.

In my case, if the battery is 5% or less, it'll take around 3 1/2 hours to charge. However, should the battery be 25-30% it'll just take around 2 hours to fully charge...

can anyone give recommendations for the xperia z tablet? on a side note, anyone happen to know the maximum amps that it will safely accept? i've seen some iphone chargers that claim 2.4A, but not sure if that would be compatible with an android tablet or if there is some kind of regulator in the sony tablet that would prevent it from accepting more than what the default charger outputs. i'm also wondering about long term effects of using something that has a higher output compared to the stock charger. would that be a reason for concern?
The Xperia Tablet Z has an internal limit of 1.8A. That's 300 mAh more compared to the one that comes with the device (1.5A). You can buy an iPad charger (2.1A). It won't cause any problems, because the device won't recieve the other 300 mAh. If I'm right, those are dissipated with heat on the charger itself.

It's not really recommended to change chargers on your tablet.. i even spoke to Belkin care yesterday i asked if this charger will work with my Tablet Z clicky Belkin said to me even tough it will work, with my Tablet Z. But they do NOT recommend it, as long run it will destroy the battery life... if you really need juice on the move, just pick up a charge pack that Sony sells on there website...
No idea how it affects battery life but the ipad 4 charger will charge the tablet Z in like half the time.

i own ipad charger 2,4A and it helps to charge the tablet only 30% faster, not half time. Original charger doesn't manage to charge the battery from 0% to 100% for 6 hours, so it's no good( The ipad one makes it in 4.15.
I have noticed that it takes much less time to charge the tablet with the latest 4.3 update.

no? When Sony gives you a 1.5 mA charger use it! Using another Charger whith higher mA can really damage your device and if the Battery explodes the user can be hurt, too.
Possible things to go wrong:
Lesser battery live time
Battery damaged irreparably
Battery explodes and may hurt you
Phone can not be charged up again (controller damaged)
complete Phone can be damaged (hardware unusable)
Warranty lost

Never had that problem, using multiple types of charger including car chargers. Battery life from day one is just about the same, and i keep my phone plugged in whenever possible.
- ipad charger (2.1A)
- iphone charger (0.5A)
- Samsung charger (1.0A)
- car ciggy port lighters (2.1A and 3.0A)
- international power plug adaptor (2.1A)
- notebook (~0.5A to 2A)
- powerbanks of various makes (1.0-2.1A)

The phones IC's should limit the current drawn by the phone (the ZU seems to stop at 1.8 A) and limit it even further if the battery gets hot.
The ICs in the ZU is capable of fastcharge 2 from what I've read - anyone keen to see how hot a battery can get pulling 4A? <= don't try this at home kids

I wish a charger better than the original one if possible, with EU pins, and with a good quality checked (I prefer to avoid some product with awesome specs but not tested ...)
So anyone have any idea where I can find a good charger, and without any risk for my phone ?

for few days i went to jarir book store on KSA . I found Charger good price also 2 USB 5 volt 2.4 Amber ... compatiable with mate 7 and faster from orignal ...
just to know more fasting to charge wil damge your batter of mate 7 quickly .also orignal 2 A will damge
for me I charging with Iphone charge 1A good for batter and Stander and low risk to Device
If you want proper charging, then always use the accessories coming with that product. It is tested for sure and good. Other than that, you can use any charger delivering the same charge. The original charger is 5 volt, 2 Ampere. Don't use anything above 2 amperes as it may damage the device. Below that will charge it slowly.
BTW, why you don't want to use the original charger?

Can you test it with ampere (free in gplay) i don't think it will charge over 1800mA so that it acts like a normal 2a charger
Fast charging
Using a fast charger will destroy your battery faster. Not recommended as the battery is not removable. You can get a battery and if you are comfortable removing the back and swapping it out then go for it.

that is not correct as you are not connecting the charger to the battery directly. In fact the charger is just a power supply. The actual charger is integrated into the phone (charging controller).
In general you need to know that volts are pushed to the device by the power supply and amps are drawn by the device (phone) from the power supply. Therefor using a power supply with more than 5V will kill your phone but using one with 2A, 3A or even 4A will make no difference as the charging controller will just pull the amps required. Because of that you can not really fast charge a phone by changing the power supply only if the phone supports the fast charge option (for example some Nexus phones).
I tested this myself with a power supply (can provide 5V and 1.5 to 4 amps) and an amp meter. The phone always drew between 1.5 and 1.6 amps (with and empty battery, 8 to 10% left) regardless of the selected amps of the power supply. Using a power supply with less than 1.5A will kill the power supply as the phone tries to draw the 1.5 amps or more. As result the power supply will get hot and eventually die.

Why don't you buy a powerbank? I can advice you the xiaomi 16000mah. That one charges fast and you can be mobile.

I'm going to be honest, it doesn't really matter how you charge your phone as long as you don't go over 5v and 2 Amps. Batteries will automatically lose cells from charge cycles and by the time you feel the effects of the battery going bad, you would have already moved on to the next device for the next person to worry about. And saying to use the Stock Charger isn't really good enough as the Stock charger doesn't serve as a Car charger also. If you want to charge your phone quick, and you already have a 2 Amp charger, Check your microUSB cable. Don't use junk cables, buy quality or use the cable you received with the device. You get what you pay for. Fast Charging won't work as the Charger has a chip inside that communicates with the Phone and Device. Also, when buying a charger, don't just randomly buy a charger online, Make sure its UL Tested. Even if it says UL tested, there should be a test number on that UL Label, take it a step further and google it and make sure it matches the charger specs and passes as knockoff chargers are notorious for copying other chargers Regulatory icons to make it seem authentic. You don't want to buy a junk charger that ends up burning your house down or gives you a very bad 120 Volt shock through the microUSB cable that would also kill and fry your phone.

1.6A is nothing.. i use 2.0A and it still chrges 3 hours
one friend conected his phone to a hi suite, he went to repair sistem or something like that, and it pop out an option of QUICK CHARGE... even he doesent know how that hapends, now his phone charges faster. he is on b331 rom

You have not read my earlier post or you did not understand it. Changing the charger on the Mate 7 will have NO effect (zero, nada) on the time required to charge your phone except the charger delivers less then appr. 1.6A. Then it would take longer and evetually kill the charger. The Mate 7 uses a Kirin chip which has no fastcharge implemented. Samsung uses Qualcomm Chips with implemented fastcharge technology. The charger (in fact a power supply) and the phone/CPU/charge controller need to communicate with each other, otherwise fastcharge will not be activated (the reason fastcharge with charge-only cables does not work because they lack the required data cables for communication).

The amps of the charger don't matter at all -> amps are PULLED by the phone not pushed to the phone. You could use a charger with 100 or 1000 amps and it would not hurt your phone a bit as long as it is only charged with 5 Volts.

Yes, and that won't change one bit even if you use the best and most expensive charger and a 1000$ cable. The Mate 7 is limited by its hardware (built in charge controller) and pulls max 1.6A. End of story.
As long as you don't understand how charging works you will spend 100's of bucks for cables and chargers to no avail.
The only reason, why charging with some charges is quicker than with others is that those chargers actually deliver the amps they are supposed to deliver. There are a lot of cheap/bad chargers out there which are labelled with 5V/2A but only deliver a fraction of the amps. You can identify those chargers easily because they get extremly hot. I use a 2A charger from Aukey which gets only lukeworm.

Most certainly no negative effects. In theory it should actually be better for the battery to charge it with less current, but I don't know if that is true.
Different topic: I read that there are multiple versions of the Z5 (US, Europe, ...) and that they support different LTE frequencies. So maybe you want to check if your mobile connection works as intended, if you don't have the US version.
My phone is showing LTE after choosing my apn settings.
I tried using a 5V 1A charger with my phone and it doesnt seem to work. (It works fine on my old phone) The charge light keeps turning on and off. The vibration pulse you hear when it starts charging keeps pulsing too.
Better use an HIGHER amperage, than lower!! Charger will adapte it to phone specifics...A lower amperage will reduce your battery capacity in long time.
I once connected my Z5C to an old 500mA charger (caught the wrong cable) and kept using it a bit (screen on, etc.) and it gave me a nag screen that said that the charger is not suitable because apparently the battery drain from usage was more than what trickled back in.
However, if left alone even a 500mA charger should eventually charge the phone, taking much longer though.
Generally, with chargers, you need to get the voltage right. If the Amperage is higher that what the OEM charger is it does not matter. The electronics in the device limit the charge to what the device can handle. The Amperage on the charger is the max it can deliver. In other words, the charger does not pump 2.5A into the phone forcefully, the phone just nibbles whatever it can take (say 1,5A).

I think you need a 2A charger to be sure with the Z5c. Most of my older chargers take hours to charge it, and the car USB port (Nissan Qashqai 2015) barely charges it at all.
The UCH20 that came with the phone, takes 2 hours 15 mins to charge the phone fully. I got a quick charger which takes around 1 hour and 10 mins at max

It is basic electronics. The voltage must be the exact one. Amperage is what the device draws , therefore the charger must be capable to provide a minimum not a maximum.

I also want a source for that... It's the first time in my life i hear it's the opposite... and i have been charging this phone with 1 amp or 500mA (with pc usb) for the past 4 years, battery is still fine. Only used a 1.5A charger a few times.
On the other hand, my sisters z5 had a swollen battery a year ago, she always used quick chargers...

To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the LG G6 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.

I have used the charger that came with it (since it was the only USB-C cable I had at the time) and it charged amazingly fast. I bought a Wireless charger as well which is also amazingly fast. It's my first wireless charging experience and I was told it trickle charges so it would be much slower than charging from the cable, but I barely notice a difference in speed at all. I keep checking the phone what seems like every couple of minutes if not seconds and the % has increased by a lot more than I would have imagined. I thought wireless charging to be pointless and a who-cares ordeal, but not that I have experienced it... I don't think I will go back to a device without it (not for a phone at least). I'm not sure if any health issues can be there from radiation, but I'm almost dead anyway (well... I have about 50 years to go I guess) so I don't really care, lol.
For those wondering, I went with the CHOETECH Qi Model T513 wireless charger. Input: DC5V/2A (Max) Output: 7.5W which I purchased from Amazon for only $19.95. That was 50% off at the time I purchased it, but that was only a few days ago so you might want to check on it.
Really? I feel my g6 charges way slower then my S7 edge. I still have it but I'm gonna test this tomorrow.

Really? I feel my g6 charges way slower then my S7 edge. I still have it but I'm gonna test this tomorrow.
Went and picked up this bad boy today. LS variant. Out of the box, had 41%. Using my car charger Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0(yes 2.0) and the included USB C, it charged to 70% in the 20 minute drive back to my house. For using the old QC tech, still charged amazingly fast. I have a QC3.0 39W wall charger that got delivered this afternoon. Will wait til this baby dies and charge her up with that and will report back.
Ive noticed when using a QC 3.0 charger and cable doesnt seem like the g6 is actually charging faster. Its suppose to support QC but its not.
I'm finding this charges a lot slower than my S7 Edge as well. Using the provided cable and charger it takes about 2.5 hours to go from 5% to full which is generally fine, but there isn't a burst and then trickle. I appreciated being able to plug my phone in for a short time when it was low and top it up enough to go out and not worry about it dying. Can't really do that with this one.
I had a power brick laying around and says qualcomm 2.0 and it charge`s really fast, like 1% of battery every min. , but yes with the stock charger brick takes forever to charge.
Using a Xiaomi USB C charger (45W) which supports both UPD 2.0 and QC 3.0, my phone charged very fast.
Mine charges super fast with the supplied charger. I plugged in with 11% yesterday and hit 50% in like 25 minutes.
quick charging is convenient and all, but is there a way to revert to normal charging? I don't want to accelerate my cycles. Thanks.

Use a non-QC charger.
thanks. I'll do that, I have to get extra cables anyway. Although I was wondering if there was a way to hack it phone-wise.

the charger that comes with the device doesn't support QC3, it's a QC2 charger.
so, getting a QC3 charger would defiantly decrease the charging time :good:

Look to the charger specification, if it supports only 5v and 9v then is QC2. QC3 scales on various voltage between 5 and 12 volts.
And yes, the provided charger is QC2, probably the same Found with the G5.
Yeah I take back what I said. The supplied charger does appear to "only" be QC 3. It still seems faster then QC2 though. Maybe it's just in my head. It works for my needs though, I can get almost 50% in like 20.
Charge in airplane mode when you can. When you have no worries of anyone calling or texting. With wifi off as well you'll see a decent jump in fast charging.
purchased by phone a couple of days back and it charged from 5% to 100% in approx 1.40 mins with the stock QC 2.0. I'm damn impressed....
Let me Ask y'all something. Coming from a LG G4 and just Charging My Batteries by a OEM Battery Charger I got 2HRs More of SOT. When I charge via the USB Quick Charger I got the same 3HRs as usual. So I got 5 while charging Slower then the SO-Called Quick Charging. To my understanding Batteries are meant to Slow-Charge rather then Fast
