Bricked - Kindle Fire HD 7 Model #SQ46CW - Fire HD 6 and 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

New to these forums
I have searched for how to unbrick this and found threads but none seem exactly my issue. So...
Couple quick questions.
Are there links to exact files to download?
Can you get out of an infinite loop - Shows Amazon Logo > Fire Sys Recovery > Reset to Factory Defaults > Erasing > Amazon Logo > repeat....
I bought a fastboot cable off ebay but when plugged in I get no drivers installing and no access.
Any help or direction to a thread I passed over whould be great.
Thanks!
*** BTW - I didn't brick it, my 12 year old son did then dumped on ole dad to fix.

No help for the old man?
I'll even take a "Here Dummy" redirection to the right thread....

We don't have any how-to-fix-loop threads. (Success generally goes unreported.) I assume you've tried "boot to system" or just holding power button for 30-40 seconds. Fastboot cable doesn't work with these tablets. On the brighter side, Amazon has been good about replacing looping Fires.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking it's messed up pretty bad. He tried to root it and he thinks he missed a step after flashing the new rom.
Has anyone opened a Fire up to get to the memory directly? Just looking for options.
Thanks!

[Q] Help! Bricked beyond download mode

Hello everyone
I need your help, not sure what happened, after my Galaxy 10.1 spontaneously went into a reboot loop, and recovery was acting very weird, I tried to Odin and got from bad to worse. Now when I power up i get this screen. Cannot get into download mode, same result. I have tried nvflash and got
C:\nvflash>nvflash --resume --download 8 stockretailrecovery.img
Nvflash started
[resume mode]
failed executing command 14 NvError 0x120000
command failure: partition download failed
C:\nvflash>
Does anyone have instructions on how to redo the partitions and reinstall files (reflash) using nvflash? I could not find any reference on this. Please help.
Does anyone have any instructions on how to revive the tablet? Again, download mode is not available, but I can run nvflash using Power + Vol up then hooking it into the computer. However, I found no reference, configuration files or instructions for nvflash at this low level. I am not familiar with adb, but if it is possible to use that I am also open to any suggestions. My device is unlocked.
Here are the (horrible) errors I get when I power up or when I try download mode (Power + Vol down). I can barely find anything on Google regarding these. The Samsung Galaxy 10.1 flashes for a fraction of a second before that.
AccessParamData: Fail to NvStorMgrPartitionQueryStat! [err: 0x3] OpenParam: Fail to AccessParamData_read! [err: 0x3] AccessParamData: Fail to NvStorMgrPartitionQueryStat! [err: 0x3] Set ParamData: Fail to AccessParamData_write! [err: 0x3] Error -> SetParam (ParamIndex_secure)! [err: 0x3]

Hi, sorry you are having this problem, it's a tough brick. I wasn't able to find any instructions, ie partitions so I called Samsung US. Fortunately, at that time, about a year ago, my tablet was still under warranty. They fixed it, no questions asked, came back as new; I had to register on their site, print some labels, send it somewhere in Texas, came back in about a week or so.
Not sure, they probably replaced the motherboard; it does not have a dent or scratch, just my screen protector, so I cannot even tell if they opened it... of course i rooted again immediately and it is happily running some version Android 4+ I have flashed since. If yours is not under warrantly (probably not) it will cost you, but it's worth trying, asking how much etc. if they still service the 10.1 Give them a call just in case.

Verizon Ellipsis 7 Unbricking?

I am assuming no one has bricked this device yet but I believe I just did I am rooted and stuck at a welcome screen if anybody has a solution please help! if not I'm going to the store Saturday and telling them a silly lie
Yeah I just did too :/ I installed chainfire 3D and now it stays at the Verizon loading screen. It doesn't shut off, only reboots to this screen. Safe mode doesn't work. I'm hoping there is a way to fastboot, factory restore, etc. via USB. But I think I'm SOL
I just went up to the Verizon store and play dumb I was able to get mine replaced

I figured as much. I talked to someone over the phone and they said to bring it in for a replacement. So I'm going in tomorrow for a new one. Lesson learned haha

Really hoping someone has came out with a unbrick/really BootLoop of Doom...
So I know a little about android and learn quick and there is very little information on the verizon ellipsis 7. Just so happens I bought one from a side shop and figured out Framaroot will easily root this device. Well you can guess what happen from there. All was going well until i rebooted with rom toolbox pro to change the font format for the second time. Now ever since it hasn't made it past the verizon screen and i cant take it back. Is there any possible way at all of somehow getting a custom recovery on this thing? Or even better a unbrick/bootloop? Oh and I CAN get it to go into stock recovery. Tried the Clear eMMC and Safe Mode but no luck.
Im in the same situation, I'm not able to boot into safe mode and clearing the emmc (formatting /data) doesn't seem to help either. I believe /data is just the user saved data, system data remains the same and is still corrupted. I had rooted, installed xposed framework and a few modules, rebooted fine the first time, but when I went to go change a setting within Ultimate Dynamic Navbar to make the stock navbar hide or not to hide, the script it used killed the tablet and now my wife's valentines day present is stuck in a bootloop. I'm going to try and take it back to verizon tomorrow after work, hopefully I can get yet another free tablet from big red... rvajuggalo said he was able to get it replaced right away even though it was rooted, anyone think I'll be fine taking it back as well? Or should I just wait til someone comes out with a fix for this issue?

If anyone has a clean copy of the system or firmware directories can you please share with me? --- Also if anyone knows how to get into the stock recovery without android debugging please explain? On a final note if anyone has a custom recovery that they could share that would be amazing as well. I'm in a bootloop and have been stuck in it for a couple weeks. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

If you're willing to open the back plate. (Back plate just pulls off. I'd suggest opening the sim/sd card slot and using that to pull it off. You need to disconnect the battery wait a few seconds, reconnect and then boot into recovery.
1. Black plate removal
2. Disconnect battery
3. Wait a few seconds
4. Reconnect battery
5. Press and hold Power and Down volume button until you see "Powered by Android"
6. Release the power button continue to hold down volume
7. Once in Factory recovery mode choose your best option
(I just factory reset it)

A new development, possibly.

After making edits in system files I broke my QMV7B. Hangs on powered by android logo. In a panic, I wiped emmc from factory more (Chinese).. This reset ADB keys, and complicated matters further. After some digging I may have caught a break... I have figured out a way to stop and suspend the tablet in it's pre boot, or preloader, state. While suspended, it maintains COM3 connection with SPFT, and does not power cycle on and off. It also successfully installs it's onboard Preloader driver without error. Problem is that I need help attempting flash (for best chances)...
needing stock 4.4.4 fit the qmv7, or possibly advice on stock recover if possible.. I have successfully flased devices with Odin before, and have rooted almost every I have had.. I just want the best chance for success, and not to full brick the tab.. this could also be a solution for newer devices as well, but would like to for a good developer to speak with me before I post my findings. I will also post if I get the stock room compatible for flashing with SP Flash tool.. thanks guys..
Help
Please post specifics on how you achieved suspending in Preloader mode. That would help me alot.
I really need the un-rooted qmv7a stock rom, if any one could provide, that would be fan-freaking-tabulous lol...
no, for real i need the stock rom. I'd really appreciate it.
BTW
if you wanna get clean root on this device, i suggest this- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2748169

[Q] Stock, Verified Failed, Hard Reset

First things first. The device in question is an Acer Iconia Tab A200.
Alright, so here's what's going on. Recently, something happened and the tablet asked to do a hard factory reset. It stopped at a screen that terminated in red text "Verified Failed". It is a stock device. The only thing different is that it was running Nova Launcher. No rooting, nothing else. Nearly all of the posts I have found assume that some level of rooting has occurred, and the rest are unresolved. I have nothing, not even any tools, because almost all of the links to tool downloads terminate in dead dropbox links or uncomfortably sketchy download sites. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Not sure entirely what you mean, but through the Pwr, Vol+, and screen lock combos, it does a couple "booting recovery kernel" loops with the android and a spinning wire ball, but then it terminates in "Verified Failed"

I have seen that page, but am not entirely sure how to flash anything to the device. I tried flashboot commands, but I am apparently missing a myriad of .dll's. Just as a point of inquiry, was the A200 not widely sold? I have seen a lot of A100 and A500, but not much from A200, A300, or A400. I apologize for my helplessness, but I have absolutely no experience with the inner-workings of android devices, and I do not know anyone who has any experience. Thank you for your help.

Yes, that is exactly my problem. Unfortunately, XDA does not have an Iconia A200 forum. It has A100, and A500, but no A200. I checked. Also, I already did a factory reset, which was the spark that led to the current problem. I have sense tried multiple factory resets with the exact same error.
UPDATE:
A friend of mine, who apparently has de-softbricked a tablet took a look at it. He returned it with the sad news that he/we could not do anything with it due to it failing to register when connected to the computer. Thank you all for your assistance, but I now have to decide between attempting to contact Acer and just buying a new tablet.

[Q] Boot Loop

Ok so I've tried looking through these forums for several months in an attempt to find something that will get my kindle fire HD 7" out of it's boot loop that I put it in while trying to root. Turns out I skipped a step.. Anyways, so far I cant even get it to show up as a drive on my computer. It will show up in the device manager and I bought the factory fastboot cable so it will go to fastboot. However, I've tried using system restore programs such as kindle fire first aide and the SR tool. KFFA has been the most productive in the sense it will attempt to restore my kindle back to factory but fails to download the required files from drop box. It moves past all that saying no error and tells me to reboot my kindle, which then returns to looping at the Kindle icon. I'm seriously stumped here as no help program I've seen has been able to do anything so far. Amazon said the warranty ended a year ago and to buy a new one. Any help would be much appreciated and if you don't mind reply like I'm computer illiterate because this was my first attempt at rooting anything.
Thanks!

Help Verizon Ellipsis 7 (quanta qmv7a) brick

Of anybody could help me that would be absolutely fantastic. I was half asleep in a thread on trying to get a custom recovery for my Verizon Ellipsis 7 (quanta qmv7a) and I found a recovery.img and it was noted that it was a test. I'm just curious of anyone knows how to fix my brick because the recovery won't load and I'm now stuck in a boot loop, the "welcome" screen comes up and goes away and comes up again repeatedly. Is there a way I can adb flash this tablets stock recovery? I still have the original recovery.img I just need to figure out how to flash it when its boot looped due to a wrong recovery.img flash. Help is greatest appriciated! Thank you!
bump
-The complete lack of responses could mean that we're screwed... (or we've asked a dumb question).Today, I too was a little too eager with the Enter button without triple-checking if the version of the recovery would be compatible with my current ROM -- it obviously wasn't -- Ellipsis_boot_patched_140902-025705.img over the top of 4.4.2 -- should have done more homework
Google's bots have hit this thread -- I hope we can help others who find this thread in our predicament and give solutions -- not just be a dead-end as it is now.
It's only been 4 hours since I've been working on it... it had an unlocked bootloader so there is hope.
I can tell what _doesn't_ work straight away:
1. Pulling the battery cable -- the back cover comes off easy -- insert a credit card starting at the SIM/SD slots and work your way around the cover and then gently pull the battery harness from the battery terminal assembly -- At least I don't have to see WELCOME taunting me by flashing every few minutes.
2. Combinations of button pressing -- I tried all the dead-Andi tricks...
3. Adb and RSD-lite aren't being acknowledged.
For just a few seconds before re-cycling -- Windows DOES recognize the phone (via USB) -- enough time to (indirectly) put a batch file in the bootloader?
-- or the answer could come from a combination of all the above.
After months of tweaking, I had just gotten the 16G SD card to be stable and (fairly) transparent as the main-APP drive -- Thanks mostly in part to Vicky's recent overhauling of her app: Apps2D -- I don't want to abandon all those hours without giving it one last concerted effort.
I am also willing to give playing with the physical ROM a try (-- I pray it's not embedded in the Soc). I remembered all the fun I had with JTAGs all those years ago when I was messing with DSS systems.
The tablet was a grateful gift to me but would not be one I would have ever purchased... The Ellipsis 7 was one of the first "cheap" tablets on the market... it shows. I would never use it professionally -- but wouldn't hesitate to use it as a backup or taken out camping...
I'm giving this a 30% chance of success.... well, i'm in the market for a new tablet... maybe one of those new Win8/Marshmallow dual-booters made-in-China?
You say you have the original recovery.img could you send me that please?
