Under such situation, you have to unlock the bootloader, but you have to be aware you will lose DRM keys.

Did you notice what OP said? It doesn't want to install Pre-rooted (modified) ROM. Moreover, installing such ROM requires custom recovery.

Easy Method Maybe

First, on your computer download the DooMKernel from here and the SuperSU package from here.
Save these files on desktop and transfer the SuperSU zip on your Xperia Z Ultra (first connect your smartphone with your PC via USB cable; when done, unplug the USB connection).
Unzip the DooMKernel package on your computer.
Now, connect your smartphone with your PC one more.
Navigate towards the .img folder (where you have unzipped the DooMKernel file).
From there open a command prompt window: press and hold Shift keyboard key while right clicking on any blank space.
In the cmd window type
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
or
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
in order to reach fastboot mode on your handset.
Now, reboot your Xperia Z Ultra into TWRP recovery (once more, you don’t have to previously install a custom recovery image on your phone) by typing into cmd :
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
Good; then from TWRP recovery load and install the SuperSU zip file and then do the “Swipe to confirm flashing” action in order to resume the root process.
When done, from main menu of recovery select “reboot system now”.
Do note that if you will get stuck into a boot loop, you need to go back to recovery from where you should select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.
if i helped then press the Thanks button

let the kernel to flash on your device

You can use one of the many root programs and inject the towel root exploit.
I've owned, destroyed this phone about 5x I just recently got a new one about 2 weeks ago. So I've tried everything on the ultra. All he has to do is flash a stock ftf which doesn't require recovery.

They say it's easy but I'm going on 2 months. Still no root. Well I have Chinese crappie root. Dude I still have no clue and I have a new phone that came with 4.3 jellybean. And I was told that's the easiest firmware to root.

Upgrade and root 5.1.1 Lollipop 14.6.A.0.368 locked or unlocked bootloader

** DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A DEVELOPER. I DO THIS AS A HOBBY AND SHARE MY FINDINGS IN CASE SOMEONE ELSE FINDS THEM USEFUL. **
** THIS WORKED ON MY DEVICE BUT IT MAY NOT WORK ON YOURS. APPLY AT YOUR OWN RISK **
This post shows you how to upgrade your system to lollipop 5.1.1 and optionally have root privileges. This is tested on C6833 model. For other models see the troubleshooting section near the end of the post.
Requirements:
Flashtool 0.9.18.6. or 0.9.19.6 or higher Important: Do not use Flashtool 0.9.19.0.
If you want to root the phone: Rooted XZU on Android version 5.0.2 or Kitkat with custom recovery installed.
This works on locked or unlocked bootloaders and any customization.
Download link for upgrade only:
C6833_14.6.A.0.368_1275-8026_R2D.ftf (unmodified Customized DE):
https://mega.nz/#!khF1nILD!C5D70e-BjCKVBCuOurjFOLcIMZDcldYVeIDnFiR-PGM
Download link for upgrade and root:
5.1.1-system.zip:
https://mega.nz/#!YoFgCSjA!Zh8t_4jeXcAEWhOYePA40uQLI7vw4-CnxohjBdMbpz0
C6833_14.6.A.0.368_No_System.ftf
https://mega.nz/#!l4dllSTT!R393EG4W3CwOZp1OLOzfUzpHF0IlvsmfW04BrGOggXc
Instructions for upgrading without root:
1- Back up your internal SDCARD and your apps.
2- Download C6833_14.6.A.0.368_1275-8026_R2D.ftf
3- Open Flashtool and click on the flash icon. Choose flash mode.
4- Navigate to where you saved C6833_14.6.A.0.368_1275-8026_R2D.ftf and flash this ftf with your phone in flash mode. I recommend wiping apps and cache and data (Note that wiping data will erase your internal SDcard too). To put your phone in flash mode, hold the volume down button when it is off and connect with the USB cable to the PC.
5- Reboot.
Instructions for upgrading with root:
0- If your existing system is rooted using Kingroot read the troubleshooting section below before continuing.
1- Back up your internal SDCARD and your apps.
2- Download C6833_14.6.A.0.368_No_System.ftf and 5.1.1_system.zip.
3- Copy 5.1.1-system.zip to your phone's internal SDcard.
4- Reboot to recovery and install 5.1.1-system.zip.
5- If you are coming from Kitkat just Turn the phone off. If you are coming from 5.0.2, reboot the phone and let it work through the boot animation which will take a while. Then it will show force closing messages and possibly reboots itself. At this point turn it off by holding down the power and volume-up keys for a few seconds. The phone will vibrate 3 times and turns off.
6- Open Flashtool and click on the flash icon. Choose flash mode.
7- Navigate to where you saved C6833_14.6.A.0.368_No_System.ftf and flash this ftf with your phone in flash mode. I recommend wiping apps and cache and data (Note that wiping data will erase your internal SDcard too). To put your phone in flash mode, hold the volume down button when it is off and connect with the USB cable to the PC.
8- Reboot.
Troubleshooting, etc.
This procedure works only if you follow every step carefully. When you are done you can easily test your root status in a terminal emulator or via adb. Please see the attached image.
If you have used Kingroot to root your existing system flashing this ROM may not work and it may leave your system with a partially updated file system that may be broken. The reason is that Kingroot (which in my opinion is malware) makes some of your system files immutable which means they cannot be removed during a software upgrade. To proceed, you should either find a way to replace this horrendous piece of code with SuperSU or downgrade to Kitkat and root with XZDualRecovery before trying this guide. Read the second part of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62936808&postcount=22.
If during the procedure for root the flashing of the ftf in step 7 fails, repeat step 7 with C6833_14.6.A.0.368_1275-8026_R2D.ftf or any other 14.6.A.0.368 ftf but exclude the system partition in the flashtool dialog window. If you don't exclude the system partition you will not get root.
If you have root after the procedure but something else doesn't work, try a factory reset.
Note that flashtool 0.9.19.0 was specifically released to support the new sin format on new devices and some of its features don't work with older devices. So to avoid taking any chances I used version 18.
I don't know if this works for C6802 or C6806. Some users reported success on 6806, like this one and this. For that model you follow this guide and use the zip file posted here. The only difference is that instead of flashing the ftf posted here in the next step, use the stock 14.6.A.0.368 ftf for your phone and exclude system.
Will this C6833 FTF work on a C6806 USA phone?, because I can't find a C6806 FTF anywhere...
Can this system zip be used with other customized versions of c6833 ftf.

You probably didn't exclude the system partition in this step:
7- Navigate to where you saved C6833_Customized+DE_14.6.A.0.368.ftf.*Exclude system partition*and flash this ftf.
Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the latest flashtool?

Also i am running stock 5.1.1 already after OTA but interested to have root...shall i go with the 2nd steps with root?

Customized DE just means it is the German version of the ROM. I used that because I bought the phone in Germany. But the menus and keyboard and everything is in English so you would not even notice the difference.
This method will not touch your bootloader status so if you are locked you remain locked.
If you are already on 5.1.1 through OTA this will not work for you. You need to start from rooted 5.0.2 with recovery installed.

I think you can still do it straight from kitkat but if you are following the instructions with root in step 5 instead of rebooting just turn the phone off.
Let me know if that works.
so my ZU used to be rooted with Lollipop 5.0.2, but i removed Kinguser/chinese root app and no longer have root access. I've also previously installed recovery but don't know if it will still work ? i forgot how to boot into recovery to see if it even works.. any helpers?
Power on the phone and when u see the led notification start pressing either the Volume UP or Volume Down key a couple of times to make your phone boot into recovery mode

Had 5.1.1 lollipop installed, downgraded to 4.4.4 kitkat and rooted with kingroot successfully- installed xzu dual recovery and rebooted into recovery mode.
Flashed 5.1.1 zip and turned off. Flashed 5.1.1 Saudi Arabia ftf with flashtool (wipe everything - ticking to exclude system partition) with phone off and connected z ultra in flash mode and flashed successfully. Disconnected and booted.. took a while on wave animation and started fresh but no supersu and not rooted in 5.1.1?? any help thanks

[TUTORIAL] Root android wear 6.0.1

This is a step by step guide for those who want root privileges on their watches. First of all, thanks to @rbox for the modified recovery image, and thanks to @Chainfire for the rooting files. Great developers.
I´ve used the latest superSU beta (systemless rooting), only deleting from the script the superuser.apk.
I´m not responsible for any damage. Do it knowing what you´re doing and at your own risk.
1- You must be in android wear 6.0.1 version. Download and unpack the rooting_files.rar (3 parts, xda format restrictions) and press shift button while right mouse click on a blank space on the folder. In the menu, select open command window here.
2- Reboot your watch in fastboot mode (power off the watch and power on sliding your finger from left top corner to right down corner) (or use adb command "adb reboot bootloader"). Connect it in the charging craddle to pc. If yout bootloader is locked, run "fastboot oem unlock" (It will factory reset your watch). If not, continue.
3- [optional] Flash through adb the twrp287 base image with the command "fastboot flash recovery twrp287.img"
4- Flash the modified twrp with "fastboot flash recovery twrp300modif.img"
5- Select recovery mode from fastboot menu and enter in twrp.
6- Push the wearSU267.zip into the internal memory with command "adb push wearSU267.zip /sdcard"
7- In TWRP select Install option and flash the wearSU267.zip. You may see some errors, ignore them.
8- Reboot your watch
You should have root now! Try it with a su command in terminal or any app.
I´ve included the original TWRP 3.0.0 image if anyone want to flash it after all.
Due to the new /system partition format, we cannot mount it in writable mode, so we cannot make changes inside at the moment, maybe someone can find a solution...
EXTRA: If you want change DPI, run this command: "adb shell wm density 180" (180 or whatever you want). The original value is 240 dpi.
Reserved
Nice tutorial! Currently flashing, I'll see if it works in a few minutes
Update: NICE! Worked like a charm!
Seeing as Busybox is used by almost all android wear apps would you not add it to the files? Also why are you flashing an old recovery and then the proper working one? Just flash the working one

In the TWRP page it says the 3.0.0 image is an update, and must be flashed over an old version:
"TWRP Install (Requires TWRP 2.8.4 or higher already installed)"
https://twrp.me/devices/lggwatch.html
Anyway, it does not have effect, it is a precaution.
I´ve installed busybox after all through apk, but it´s not necessary for get root commands working

[GUIDE][6.0.1 OFFICIAL STOCK] Use TWRP to get root access

So the OFFICIAL 6.0.1 is already out and this is not the BETA version. It's for consumer release.
So how do you get to this eh?
NOTES: Flashtool can be used for both LB/UB. You won't lose DRM keys or unlock bootloader if you flash via flashtool.
1. Install Flashtool (get it here: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php).
2. There is a XperiFirm option there which would allow you to download official FTF files.
3. Navigate your way to Z3 Compact and grab the D5803 version US Variant (since this is configured for GLOBAL-LTE but i might still need to test bands). Or just grab anything you want there as long as it's version: 23.5.A.0.570
3. Flash using flashmode (hit the lightning icon there).
Now there's this "WIPE" Box, you have 2 options!
- Check User data and App logs and hit flash -- this will factory reset phone so you better have a backup!
- Leave them UNCHECKED if you want to retain your apps from your previous STOCK ROM. (might automatically uninstall incompatible apps in the process).
Once it asks for your device to be connected. Do as it says (power down, then hold the vol. down button as you plug the phone in).
-- this should start flashing.
4. After the process you may now boot the phone and there you have it!
-- Things below require unlocked BL --
If you want root, you can use fastboot and TWRP 3.X (I've tested the TWRP version 3.0.2 on the 6.0.1 beta before)
send this command on fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <your twrp img here>
and hit enter. It must return 'OKAY'.
Unplug phone then boot into recovery and flash your SuperSU.zip

If you have a locked BL, then root and install DualRecovery. There is an excellent thread here on XDA and you'll be on TWRP in no time. It also makes sure you'll have the drivers and flash tool and everything that you'll need for this already configured and ready to go.
If you have an unlocked BL, just go find TWRP and flash through fastboot.
Thanks OP!
P.S. I'm guessing for those with locked BLs, we can use PRFCreator and that FTF from Xperifirm to create a flashable, pre-rooted MM ROM...anyone tried? My Z3c is currently bricked (hopefully fixable) so I can't test at the moment.
Another DEV published a root method, both for the LB and UB:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/wip-sony-android-6-0-mm-t3337357/page1
Keep in mind that that method was used for the BETA version of the rom, but yeah it's more likely that it would work with the consumer release. I'll update the OP once I relock my BL and successfully gain root with it.
The UB method there has the same effect as mine
I could not get root with the method, i would get boot img failure on flashing superSU in twrp with unlocked BL but to solve the issue i just flashed the advanced kernel for 6.0.1 and superSU flashed fine..not sure if anyone else is having this problem but this method did not work for me.
Do I keep root with locked bootloader with this method ?
Title of this topic is confusing, it seems that you need BL unlocked to get root.

No you will lose root if you flash ftf on locked BL, you will need to root again using whichever method you used previously. If you flash an ftf file on ANY bootloader locked or unlocked it resets your phone to the contents of the ftf file.

I'm giving it a try so I'll let you know.
EDIT: Admittedly I haven't got a clue how to use prfcreator but I tried and whilst it flashed there was no root or recovery.
2nd EDIT: XDR doesn't work on MM yet. I'll give TWRP a try.

Which version of SuperSU are you using?

I'm using BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip
However I was looking at the PRFCreator thread and it looks like if you add Recroot v2 as the SuperSU it should work. Not sure if it will give a recovery though.
EDIT: Okay. Didn't install the SuperSU binary properly but Kingroot could install the root though. Tried to remove it and replace with SuperSU and got a bootloop. However I have a cunning plan.
Xperia Z3 Compact - UB
I could not get TWRP recovery with the fastboot method.
I tried to install several "recoverys" but none are installed.
Help me please.

We have progress of sorts.
With prf creator add superSU and create the prerooted ROM.
In TWRP Wipe everything but SDcard and OTG
Install pre rooted ROM
Then Install RICDefieat.zip, byeselinux_flashable.zip, and BusyBox-v1.24.1-Stericson.zip
Power off the phone.
Open Flashtool
Load ftf of .570 and check the Exclude System box and flash the phone
Install TWRP using Z3C_MM_TWRP_Recovery_V2_By_Serajr
And that should be it.
Managed to get everything working bar the TWRP but I think that was my fault.
A download file of everything you need bar the ROM.

It seems to be working for me at the moment. Even TWRP.
Edit: TWRP is unstable and sometimes becomes unavailable . If that happens just find SGP621-RICDefeat.zip to enable R/W again and reinstall.

you can try to unlock directly at your current stable rom, somebody able to do it while i can't do it and should move to dev rom to unlock.
if you failed to do it at current rom, you can move to dev rom using miflash and ofc using fastboot rom. if you should move to dev rom to unlock, choose LP rom since MM rom have forced encryption feature by default.
OK.. suppose now I unlocked the bootloader... wat should I do to flash twrp and root the phone.. should I just flash tarp and supersu or should I need to flash anything else... please help me step by step after unlocking bootloader...
follow lolipop unlock process Replace emmc_appsboot.mbn in dev rom and flash via mi flash done,
fastboot oem unlock-go
fastboot flash recovery recovery name.img
then flash radon latest marshmallow version and then flash supersu 2.76 done, its work for me,

You don't have to take help of PC or any other thing.

If you do it by installing global dev kenzo ROM by mi flash then it may get stuck at 50-60℅ as happened to many here.
I have also experienced it. It got stuck at 40℅. It may happen.
It can say not enough memory to continue or whatever ****.
Leave it don't panic. The ROM has partially been installed.
Now cmtry power off. Or click on boot edl mode. Now directly click unlock bootloader .bat file which I provided. And then click on flash twrp. Bat file.
You phone will automatically boot into twrp and now go last tab of last second row, got to globe icon and change language and now go back and wipe everything.
No wiping internal storage if you have kept any ROM there. But I suggest wipe everything.
Insert a micro SD card or USB otg containing any ROM (because you need to boot up at least) and then flash it along with proper gapps.

Hello, I'd like to root my LG X Power (K220), but I can't find any guide for that. I tried KingRoot and Kingo root. And also, there is no TWRP build for my phone. So, is there any method to root my phone? Im running Android 6.0.1

How did you do to have temporary root? Take a tutorial.
root k220 temporary
all your internal data will get lost
download rootk220 the put that files into micro sd
install lg drivers on your pc
enable usb debug in developer options
adb reboot bootloader
unlock bootloader [fastboot oem unlock]restart it will ask to factory reset . do it
repeat all the procedure to gain adb access
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot TWRP.img ------ dont flash
if is asking for password decrypt cancel
swipe to allow system write
restart phone with twrp then you will get a message that your device is corrupted but will restart
reboot again into bootloader the boot into TWRP
fastboot boot TWRP.img cancel for password decrypt and system write
install zips now in this order
1 .rce_univ.zip
2. super user
3. rce_univ.zip
4. VerifiedBootSigner-v8.zip
dont wipe anything just reboot and your done you will have root access
for reboot use soft reboot apps
if you will reboot the phone will never starts until you flash new firmware
cheers
Where do I find these four zip files?

I found it, thank you. You have urged the exposed
The Exposed Framework
I did everything according to slyver2008's instruction, i try change imei from terminal and after rebooted the phone. Now it does not start and I can not update the firmware any more.
when loading, it writes your deevice is corrupted.
I tried to switch to the firmware update mode - volume up and connect usb. and flash with LGMobileSupportTool or LG Flash Tool 2014, but nothing helped.
that it is possible to make tell me please?

Don't worry if the device isn't recognized in Windows . Use lguptool for 2016 kdz firmware and then go to device manager where the phone is in download mode change port to 41 then you will see that the restore will begin

No backups can't be maid.as I said before you will lose all your data. If you fallow my guide you will gain root access but our lose all your data. If you complet reboot the device it doesn't start anymore and has to flashed with a new firmware
