I just found this, searching for some hint of Wear Speaker support, that the new Asus ZenWatch 2 and the new Heuwai watches actually have secret speakers built in them.
http://www.talkandroid.com/269191-s...tes-audio-support-in-new-android-wear-update/
Any talks on making them work before hand? It is rumored to be enabled with Marshmallow update.
I'm hoping it's for vocal confirmation from Ok Google, similar to what you get when using it work a bluetooth speaker. Being able to use it as a speakerphone would be interesting, but isn't that big of a selling point for me anymore.
Day to day stuff I wouldn't purposely use the speaker to make voice calls, but I love to float in my pool during summer months. The only thing I can't do from my LG G Watch is take calls. I am also in IT and constantly running around. Several times I have answered the call using the watch and had to yell at my phone "Hold on Hold on Hold on..." until I had a hand free. I think a vocal search result would also be very cool. Or even just a "ding ding" when I say "Ok Google".
Anyway I am very interested in the Asus Zen Watch 2. The price point and features are exactly what I am looking for. It would be a great step up from my LG G Watch. The only thing I dislike are the bezels, but they don't look that bad.

I just got the watch today. Since it was going to be my first smartwatch I didn't want to spend too much money. I had it narrowed down between this and a first gen Moto 360 and after some research, decided on the ZenWatch 2. I have to admit, I'm a extremely satisfied with my decision. The price for this is amazing, and to be honest the bezels don't bother me at all. Definitely going to recommend this to others looking for a fair priced Android Wear watch.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
The battery life on this thing is amazing too, I have gone 3 days normal use with the ambient mode off
Just waiting for UK release date, no info googling so far.
This is the ONLY smartwatch with a speaker built in. Since the LG Urbane 2 was recalled, we will be the first to see how the speaker is utilized.
I really hope Android Wear 6.0 adds calling speaker support. Wear watches are the only watches that do not support this and honestly is sad. Everyone who asks me about my watch ask if I can talk into for calls. And honestly I would love the feature because I am constantly on the go for work and would love to be able to quickly take a phone call like, "hey hold on. I am talking on my watch. my hands are full. walking in now.".

The Galaxy Gear line does not run on Android Wear. Samsungs runs on its own Tizen OS.
The Galaxy Watches, Apple Watches, Chinese Watches, Microsoft Watches, etc all have speakers (most of them do).
The ZenWatch 2 is the ONLY Android Wear watch that has a speaker.
I really loved the Samsung Gear S watch... but its limited support for non-samsung devices turned me off. Also the Tizen line is a different animal and notification support is limited to Tizen app support. I am glad the Tizen line has broadened to support all androids.
The Hauwei watch also has a speaker

Asus ZenWatch 2 comes in two screen sizes: 1.63-inch and 1.45-inch with 320x320 pixels and 280x280 pixels screen resolutions respectively. It uses Amoled display technology. This smart watch has 4GB of internal NAND storage and 512MB. It is available in India (On top online shopping sites)

People forget that the Huawei Watch was confirmed to have a speaker long before the ZenWatch 2.

Took mine apart to look
So.... I was curious and took mine apart to look at it, seems like there could it be a speaker. The black piece has 2 metal connection to it possibly for + and -, I didn't have any wire around to test to see if it is a speaker though.
*Edit* I just looked at the huawei link and yep that is a speaker inside the zenwatch
Enjoy the pics
Could anyone with the smaller Zenwatch model (WI502Q) also open the back cover to see whether there is a speaker inside?

Wear 6.0 will come out within the next few months, speaker support is coming as a part of that update. At the moment, wear doesn't have any speaker support, so it's not as simple as rooting and enabling hidden speakers
I'll probably have a different watch by then.

Man I've got the same case, what are the chances!! Lol. I use it when I'm cutting grass. I have a Acoustic Research Bluetooth receiver that turns any headphones/earbuds into Bluetooth wireless headphones/earbuds. Works perfect and I highly recommend it! Love being able to use any headphones instead of having to buy specific ones.

Tried these too. Head crushers. Can't fall out for sure but I swear my skull was pulverized.
Not many stereo BT headsets I've not tried and so far, all but 1 have gone back.
I"ve been using these for the last couple of weeks since I bought them on sale for $30 in a one day deal. So far so good, I think they sound and fit great and are supposedly sweat resistant.
http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHB6000-28-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B004KPLS5M
My one concern is that they block out too much sound and that might cause a safety issue if you don't hear an oncoming car while running.
The other negative thing is that they have a lot of small buttons and it's near impossible to hit the right one while running. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it.

I've been using the S9s for at least three years now... Best Bluetooth stereo I've ever bought. I only enjoy them for working out at the gym, my head is small so when I run, the S9s bounce a bit and can be annoying - I'd be interested in buying the Jab Sports. ( been using studio beats for running, great but not sweat resistant at all =/
**Edit: I have the original S9s not the HD version, might try those if the fit is different.
By far the most disappointing headset ive owned were the s10hd by moto..the s9s were alot better and louder..ive had problems with my first set of jaybird freedom jf3s,no range and disconnects...but after swapping them out i get 20feet range and super loud and clear bass..plus they never fall out from running or lifting.id recommend the jf3 freedom, just gotto find a properly working set.

Not really true. I just looke up the reviews on Amazon - and I agree with the most recent review, which was 4 stars. You'll notice the same minor concerns that I expressed above about the button size and isolation. Actually - with more use on the streets, isolation isn't as good as I thought - but is actually safer. I can pump up the volume to hear my source, but will still hear the sound of an oncoming car.
These aren't perfect, but they're working fine for me. Most of the bad reviews I see on Amazon seem to regard a failure - which I might someday experience of course. In which case I would come back here and report the hardware problem.
But so far so good. These are working better for me than my much loved Jabra BT8010's - which I still use in the office because of the convenience of being able to remove the 2nd stereo earbud. But fit for working out and sound quality are better on these, no doubt. There's not much bass, but it's there - and the sound is pretty clean/clear.
Best wireless headset I have tested is the Sony mw600 excellent range

I like the feel of the Tone Ultra over the Pro and the Ultra has option noise cancelling so you can turn it on or off.
I ended up ordering a pair of the 730 Tone+, $17 shipped. I know the newer ones have more features, but expect to be happy with them.
Looking forward to this, had the Tone before and Tone+ now. The retractable feature is attractive, I just wish it's durable...

Quite a few fakes floating out there, even on Amazon (read the reviews and look at the uploaded pics). So I have to think these eBay ones can't possibly be the real thing. But, if you're happy with them, more power to ya.

No joy.
I`ve frozen:
LG TTS+
LG VoiceCommand SpeachPack
Maluuba QVoice Interface
Voice Command
Still no response to a single press of Call (when idle -- it works to pick up an incoming call or disconnect), or a long press.
I also tried installing the VoiceCommand app from Play Store. No change, so I removed it.

I believe they are real. The packaging seems reasonable, the phone recognizes them as hbs-730, and they precisely match the picture in the real LG manual. They also have things like the aptx markings as shown on the real device.
They did not include spare ear gels or manual in the package, but do seem legit.

On the right side you see the aptX logo just below the forward/back media control rockers. On the left side the on/off button and the microUSB charge port (hidden) are where they show in the OEM manual.
I'm very happy with them, other than not having voice command working. I rooted and did a fair amount of nudging on the phone the first couple days, think I whoopsed and broke the SW linkage to have VC activate. Call picks up calls, and last number redials, but I can't get voice dialer or general Google Search VC running; I don't blame that on the headphones.

I do not believe they are OEM. I have not seen any Tone headsets with that orange button on the call answer. Also the ear buds look very different. Tone headsets also do not have the shiny aluminum? ring around the ear bud. Actually now that I am thinking of its im 99% percent sure they are a knock off. But if your happy that is all that matters.
Hey guys, I was wondering if the new Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet will take calls just like a normal Xperia smartphone.
I ask this because I am considering purchasing a Z Ultra but I prefer an even bigger screen if possible, would the Z3 Compact Tablet also take calls, where I can keep it to my face and talk?
I heard it will require a Bluetooth headset in order for you to use it as a phone.
I am confused as to which one to get, any help would be appreciated!

Interesting, because no where on that linked specs page does it specify that the device is NOT a phone. Quite the opposite in fact (bold/italic emphasis is mine)...
**** In compliance with IP65 and IP68, the Xperia™ Z3 Tablet Compact is protected against the ingress of dust and is waterproof. Provided that all ports and covers are firmly closed, the phone (1) is dust tight, (2) is protected against low-pressure jets of water from all possible directions in compliance with IP65, and (3) can be submerged under 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes in compliance with IP68.

Unfortunately, I fear a definitive answer will need to wait until the device is actually available and we get some reports from those who have purchased it.
SXZ3TC can be used as a phone, but since he hasn't conversational speaker, just normal speaker, everyone others will hear your interlocutor. Also it hasn't proximity sensor, so won't lock screen. So more advisable use handsfree, especially that one with awesome noise reduction.

That is a bummer.
Translation. If you make a call on it it will be on the speakerphone... Bummer.
I will wait for the z3x. 6.2" phone.
(Even though i will be using my Bluetooth headset SBH-80,)
For the rare occasion i do not have headset connected, all i have to do is turn the speaker volume down so that you can USE IT LIKE A NORMAL PHONE.
No proximity sensor? Just hit the power button and turn the screen off
if conversation is going to be long! When you want to finish the call, hit the power button to get to the dialer screen!
I just got my LTE Z3 tablet compact, and can confirm that it does have a dialer and that you can make phone calls with it. My friend had a nano - SIM card for T-mobile that rang through when we made a call.

"Best Tablet in the market
October 25, 2014
Let me just say that I have tried almost every tablet on the market that's worth something over the last two years.I am by default an apple fan boy, but always had a thing for Sony.
Having owned a z3, a z1, and an Xperia z tablet, I think I am in a position to say that this compact tablet outshines all of sonys current product line, as well as everything else out there, including the iPad mini.
I was fortunate enough to purchase this tablet from Europe, I have the 16gb version with lte. For those of you wondering if it will work with att, I have had minimal results. After playing with the apn, I finally gave up and plugged in my t-mobile Sim card that I have (200 mb free plan monthly for lifefrom old iPad promotion last year)no problems
Tablet is crisp, fast, thin and light, and a pleasure to type on. Screen is gorgeous, and I am eagerly waiting on the remote play app. I specifically bought this to connect To my ps4
So what are you waiting For? Pretty order this bamboo today, you will not regret it!"

There are two variants of LTE model, the reviewer fails to mention which one they are speaking of. The SPG-621 appears to have all the ATT bands.
Hey guys I'm looking for some 3 button headsets that work with our phones. Seems like Google keeps sending me to vendors who are Apple specific. Ideas?
I'm using the Xiaomi Pistons and they work great. There are existing reviews online that can help you determine what headset/earbuds to get. Xiaomi Pistons is pretty up there and is relatively cheap, ~$25. Beware of fakes.

Correct, I have these:

And only the middle button works.
I've heard form other people that these (Samsung version) work for android phones with all 3 buttons. I posted the correct link this time.

Thanks. Ordered a set of the Xiaomi.
Xiaomi earphone the middle buttons doesn't work for me.

Just received my Xiaomi earbuds. So far using Spotify for music NONE of the buttons does anything.
The white Samsung headphones that came with my Note 3 work just fine with the N6. All buttons functioning properly.
I'm using headset from Galaxy Nexus (I know, old), only one button, it works on N5 to skip music but won't work on N6. Thinking about getting new headphone. Dose anyone know if Bose SoundTru for Samsung Galaxy works on N6? How's the sound quality? Here's the link www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_o...#currentState=soundtrue_ie_headphones_samsung

JayBird Bluebuds X work perfectly. They're pricey, but there's ways to get them for significantly less then the list price on their site. You can get a pair for $119.00 total, and that's with shipping. Still kind of high, but I feel they're well worth it. So much more convenient having no connected wire to deal with.

I agree with you about the Bluebuds. The bluetooth is great and the controls work perfectly.

Bummer man-- I just tried out my headset in Spotify (as well as PowerAMP as zephiK also tried) and everything seemed to work normally...
Where did you buy your set of Pistons? Maybe you got one of the knockoff versions that are out there?
Android 3 button headsets needs App to be fullt functional
This company specializes in Android 3-button headsets, from basic ones to ultra high end. Degauss Labs Noir is a hybrid earphones for Android using both balanced and Dynamic armatures. Awesome!!
Large selection if Android headsets:
BUT! You also need a App like 'headset control center' that gives you the possibility to program your microphone buttons to do what you want them to. Added to that if you want an online musicplayer to work with your buttons then you also need the App. So the Android 3-button headset works a whole lot better used with the App, especially if your a user of Spotify, Deezer, Rdio IR such pay per month music-service
Google Play Free headset app

Hope this info helped a soul or two

3-button supercharged headset for Android Nexus 6
I was at the IFA show in Berlin and stumbled into this company making Android headsets with 3-buttons. They launched the first pair of Hybrid based technology 3-button earphones for Android and Nexus-line called Noir. What is unique about them obtop of the 3-buttons actually working is that they sound incredible. That is due to that they use a Balanced armature for treble and mid and a Dynamic speaker for the bass. I think the quality of sound is absolutely amazing. Android review is found here: http://www.androidcoliseum.com/2015/04/noir-from-degauss-labs-bring-hi-fi-to.html?m=1

I use Degauss Labs Dual Drivers. Sound fantastic, and have a 3 button remote that works with my stock Nexus 6.
Hello folks, just after some advice.
The stunning 2inch screen, the functionalities & versality has drawn my attention to the samsung gear s, but i am just apprehensive how this device is holding up in 2017 with only a 512mb RAM given the requirements of today to run various apps etc
Would you still recommend it today, or does it suffer from lag/ crashing/sluggishness? Is it past it now? Would love to know tour thoughts. There are many on ebay for sale ranging from £100-£150.
Many thanks-
If you like square screen yes.
Gear S has more apps than all the news S2, S3. Almost all the good first apps wich works well on the first Gear 1/2/S are not ported to the new Gear. So old Tizen are better than the new.
Just one good point for the New Gear, no app but many many many ..... basic watch faces (but with no smart features like phone batt or weather or calendar events...)
Your stil good to go with this one of the best and beautiful watch.
Remember that you need a samsung phone for full functionality.

I got it few months back and i am really happy.
Great screen
Good battery
Comfortable to wear
Speaker and mic are really handy
Good amount of apps
I got for $100 as I believe this is how much a smartwatch deserves. I will never spend $300 $400 on a smartwatch.
Just bought it yesterday, to use it with my S6. .Its used, but in great condition . .still didnt catch all " tips and tricks ", but Im more than satisfied with it. . Screen, size and shape made mu buy it . .
Get a band with metal links... I'm not a fan of the stock band.
Constantly get compliments on it and as the other poster stated, the mic/speaker is very handy....being able to take a call on the watch (bluetooth) comes in handy when working with your hands.

There are no alternatives for sci-fi lovers. As well as for those who want to use stand alone handset. It still rocks!
Actually just got mine the other day second-hand from a jeweler on ebay. Original cradle, band and the battery still seems to hold a charge. Screen has a small scuff, but isn't noticeable unless in direct sunlight. I'm happy with it so far. The cradle is annoying and not nearly as nice as a Qi wireless charge pad, but the cradle acting as a backup battery is a nice touch. the screen on this little thing is beautiful though and easily beats out any over smartwatch I've used or tested in store. I'm really liking it.
Using with a Galaxy S8+ with no issue or hiccups yet.
If it weren't for the poor charging design, I would say that it is still worth the look. The charging. The piece on the watch that holds the cradle will snap at some point.

Sorry for the delay. No, I haven't installed Android Wear. Apparently there are still issues and some features that still aren't working so I haven't bothered.
I did check the Galaxy App store and it looks like there is an ereader like app available that can read several formats including off and epub called "Docs Reader"
I actually might pick it up myself.

I just picked up a mint condition AT&T Gear S at a local pawn shop for $60. I had one of these when they first released and have gone through various Android Wear watches and had a Gear S2 also since then. Was looking for a cheap smartwatch and have been pleasantly surprised. I've been getting about 2 days battery life paired to my S8+. The interface is a little slower so I have to be deliberate in my gestures but it's not annoying. Love the bigger screen. Notifications all work for me. I can reply on the watch to my Hangout conversations, very cool for an older watch.

Can I ask if Gear S works with OS Android 7(Huawei Mate 8)?
Thank you for your answer.
it works only with Samsung phones

From my understanding there is very limited functionality on non-Sansung devices, but it is technically possible unless I'm thinking or something else. Don't quote me in this.

I just bought a used Gear S for 50 euros. perfect condition but one question. I have a T-Mobile Sim card in my tablet and a Vodafone SIM in my S8. Can I use the phone in total standalone mode using any SIM card? I mean can I leave my phone at home and make calls and receive calls on the watch??
thanks in advance.
Depending on the model you bought, yes. The watch is basically a fully featured phone that can do calls, texts, mms, and will have both a cellular signal and data. You can leave your phone at home, I've done it a couple times while skating and didn't want to risk breaking my S8+
