I have the same problem with the battery in my dock. I bought a damaged dock off eBay and swapped the battery, so my dock is working again (I wasn't sure if the problem was battery or dock).
I have taken the faulty battery apart, but was not able to find the problem with it. I'm sure that the cells are OK, it's just the battery circuitry that's faulty. Each time I try the dock with the faulty battery, the % drops slightly; I wonder what will happen when it reaches 0%.

It was working fine before I went to bed last night, then I let it charge for the night since that battery was at about 4%, But this morning it won't turn on at all. The battery feels warm as if its been charging but nothing seems to be making it turn on. Any ideas?

If it was my phone here is what I would do.
First I would see if the phone charges the battery by putting the battery into
the phone and plug the usb cable from phone into the wall charger or into
the computer.
If the display on phone shows a picture of a battery charging let it charge
for an hour more or less and try turning on the phone.
If the phone is not charging the battery I would purchase a cheapy battery
charger and battery combo on eBay.
You can find this combo on eBay for less than $8 bucks shipped for both the battery and charger:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1800m-BATTE...045605?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item43aa9a4465
(even if you decide to return and exchange the phone its still a good thing to have a spare battery and charger)
Check it out.
Good Luck!

are you on cm7? not sure about the s2 (never had the issue), but i know that on the infuse, there was a problem (or maybe it was intentional) with low power charging mode (phone wouldn't charge when off).
i think this can be solved by trying to charge the phone via your computer usb, as opposed to your OEM wall charger.
Thanks for the suggestion. It definitely isn't showing the picture of the battery when its plugged in to the wall or the computer. I'm debating the battery charger combo you linked.
I actually am. But I have it plugged to my computer and nothings changed.
Time for some trouble shooting.
Start eliminating possibilities. You need to determine where the problem is.
From what you say, it seems possible that the battery is completely discharged but not recharging. That could be a bad battery or it could be the phone.
If you know someone else with an SGS II, try inserting their battery temporarily to see if your phone will boot. If you don't know someone else, maybe you can borrow a charged battery from the store where you bought it.
Continue on until you pinpoint the problem.
Do NOT buy a "cheapie" battery for your SGS2. Unless you want to eisk causing damage. The stock battery for the SGS2 has NFC technology built into it. Using anything other than OEM could cause damage/performance issues to your phone, and void the warranty.

Have goh tried a battery pull? Unplug the phone, pull the battery and let sit for a few minutes to allow tbe IC's to discharge. Put battery back in and try powering up the device. Good luck.

Similar issue and got phone fixed finally
Have had similar issue as yours. Cable charger was plugged into the phone to be charged at night and was surprised to find that the phone became hot and battery was not charged at the next morning, in fact the battery level got lower than it was before charging.
Notes:
- ROM in use: AOCP version 7.2 (Android 4.4.2)
- Kernel in use: Version 3.0.101 [email protected] #3
Here are some tests done and the observations after getting a charger with a slot to place the removed battery for charging:
1. Charging via USB cable connected to PC:
- With the phone turned on, battery charging icon is only displayed after some wiggling at the charging port. The phone got charged further to 100% when the initial remaining battery level is 90%. However, when the initial battery level was less than 50%, the battery level continued dropping ALTHOUGH the battery charging icon was displayed.
- With the phone turned off, battery charging icon is only displayed after some wiggling at the charging port. When the initial battery level was less than 50%, the battery charging icon displayed only a battery level of 1% and the battery level did not increase at all after 15 minutes of charging.
Initially suspected that it was a dead battery issue and bought an i9100 battery, I thought it was a compatible battery at first. With the i9100 battery, I repeated the above tests.
- With the phone turned off, battery charging icon is NOT displayed but the phone screen flashed continuously, and at times the phone is turned on automatically as the USB charging port is inserted. When the phone is turned on, the charging proceeded as the above sentence.
Upon searching the forum, I found that i777 has a different battery with NFC chip and i9100 battery has reported to cause issues during charging on i777 devices. There was also a Chinese forum which mentioned that the battery compatibility issues should have been overcome in ROM with Android version 4.0 and above.
I then bought a new i777 compatible battery and tested charging via USB cable. The observations are same as the first battery as at 1.
With the battery issues possibility eliminated, I approached a phone technician to examine the phone by telling him that the phone couldn't be charged and the battery level continued dropping even with the battery charging icon displayed. The phone technician then thought that the USB charging port to be the cause of the charging issue and replaced it. The replaced part is the small metal housing where the USB cable is inserted, and is replaced by heating the old metal housing and replacing it with new part by soldering.
The phone could be charged with USB cable as usual after the part replacement and all the batteries are found to be still working fine. Ended up with 2 i777 batteries and a i9100 battery, may be I could continue using this phone for at least another 5 years down the road.
Hi, i bought this 1950mah "gold" battery off ebay but its not working properly.
It just shows a question mark on the battery bar and sometimes the battery charge left. Charging it gives me the red and green blinking light and its not charging at all. It does power up the phone though.
I have searched and there were people with this issue but there were never any conclusion.. so is there anything i need to do or the battery is just not compatible? Its sold as suitable for titan and XL.
I bought a extra dock charger with a 1800mAh replacement battery like a month ago. This is the charger: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1800mAh-Bat...ccessories&hash=item2ebd83b41f#ht_1917wt_1396
So when the battery is charging it has a violet light and when the battery is fully charged it turns into a blue one. The PROBLEM is that now, the light is always blue, and the batteries dont charge at all. I dont know if the charger is already broken or it is a way to fix it. Please if someone who knows something about this help me, thanks!
You bought fake dock charger.
My dock is red color when charging and green color when full battery.

I had one do that and it was the cheap plastic weld inside that holds the little metal clips that contact the battery in place.
When the battery was placed in the charger the metal clips wouldn't actually contact the battery and so the light would always stay blue. (once charged it will stay blue until another low battery is placed in it) I took it apart, added a drop of super glue, and it continues to work to this day.
I think it is already broken, i opened it and tried several things to fix but nothing seems to work. Buying another is my only option i think

Hi,
I have problem with my girlfriends Desire X. When it is connected to the socket. The diode is on and the icon shows that it is charging. But... It charges only when the screen is on, as soon as it goes black the diode is still on but it stops charging or does it extremely slow. For example the phone is connected with 30% at the evening, she plays with it for an hour before sleeping and it charges to 40% and then the screen goes of for the night. At the morning the battery is at 41% and stats shows almost straight line of battery percentage during the night while charging constantly.
Any one could help us with that?
Am not sure exactly... Two possible issues: Maybe it's a faulty cable / charger or else a faulty battery. Try out replacing one after the other if it helps. If not, it's a mainboard issue (so if you still have warranty claim it).
I think that it occurs on all of our chargers. I wonder if it is a battery issue or cable, the are screen independent. It can be either motherboard or software... I will try to talk here into factory reset. If not then we will go with warranty.
a friend has asked me to take a look at his TF201 which he had in storage for 2+ years and wants it usable again, I started charging it with the supplied cable using my Anker 40W 5-port charger (he doesn't have the wall plug for it). I did a bit of reading around and an orange light is supposed to come on at the power button but nothing shows, not even a blinking light. I'm charging directly to the tablet, not the dock.
After an hour of charging, pressing the power button vibrates the tablet with a red battery gauge on the display and then switches off. After another hour of charging the tablet boots, with 2% battery remaining in a "not charging" state. So, I leave it charging overnight and it's now at 90%, still stating it's "not charging" in Settings > Battery.
What does the problem point to it being?

I would try to find an original Asus charging block on eBay or Amazon, I just picked up on eBay with a cable for $10 so don't overpay.

Ok thanks will try that.
I've also found the dock doesn't take a charge at all (it blinks orange for a few secs then stops), probably needs a new battery. Is it worth buying a new cable and battery at this time, as dock batteries seem quite rare/overpriced compared to a used TF201 tablet from ebay.
Yeah some people are asking crazy prices for the doc +$300 US. You don't really need the dock, I bought one new with the TF201, I'm now using it with my TF700. With that being said, if you can get one cheap, that holds the charge get it, the USB port is great for flash drives or a USB mouse and the SD slot on the front is a nice addition. Remember you can also search for AD01 as that is the Asus model number for the dock.

I have to laugh, I thought the TF201 that I picked up yesterday wasn't charging as it says "not charging" under the battery section in settings.
But I was on 49% charge an hour ago and it's now on 67% charged battery....:silly:
The dock appears to be well and truly dead but will interact with the tablet if plugged in. Seems that you can get replacement batteries, on Aliexpress, for around £17/18 shipped to the UK.
There's a Youtube video that suggests that you need to disconnect the battery if the table won't charge up at all. I had that problem with a Lenovo Tablet that was completely dead. Removed the back and disconnected the battery for 30 seconds or so, then plugged in the charger and it was charging normally once more.
From further reading there's an awful lot of problems with the Transformer series, so I guess I just have to consider myself lucky that it's even charging in the first place???
