Hi,
Using the C5 Ultra Dual for the last couple of days - this is the E5533 Dual french variant (original firmware as the french variant is one of the few which didn't get the latest firmware update).
Before using the phone I performed full factory reset to be on the safe side.
However, I ran into a very strange battery performance - I fully charged the C5 to 100% (SLOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - This is a thing everyone complains about and even using LG G3 1.8A charger does not speed things up - I used a USB charging meter and is shows that the actual charging current is a poor 0.65A which explains this slow charge rate. I do not have the supplied sony 850mAH charger so I can't tell what this charger is doing.
My issue is different - After disconnecting the charger at 100% battery started draining at a very alarming rate - overnight 8 hours it lost 15% in stamina mode (Wifi On - all other functions OFF - BT/GPS).
Then used the phone - battery didn't hold well, went down to %65 with minimal use but here comes the surprise - had to restart the phone - after restart phone battery went UP to 91% !!!
Again used the phone down to 70% - restarted the phone and it went up after restart to 85% !!!
I know i need to try 2 things:
1. Wipe Cache (how do you do this for the C5?)
2. Recalibrate Battery - long process
Tell me what you think
Appreciate your help
I think factory rest would help

Factory Reset did not help - charge went from 14% suddenly to 40% and then phone shutdown after 10 minutes of use with battery drained (cannot power on phone until I charge it).
Just went with Software Repair using PCC - will report how things are after it
Have you tried draining it to 0% and then do an offline charging to 100%.
FYI, offline charging is plugging in the charger while the phone is off, remember not to turn it on until 100%.

I guess you can just download xposed and there's an app call battery cealibrate and its easy you just hit the button and job in done or you can boot into recovery and you will see the wipe Cache think
Maybe things started to get fu*ked up when ou used that 1.8a charger. I may be wrong but Oems have plenty of reasons why they only provide certain chargers.
How to boot into recovery in order to wipe cache ?

Just turn off ur device and then press vol + and power together and wait till the vibrate

Lol, download Xposed? That requires root access and so do most battery calibration apps.
Unfortunately, root access is not yet available for our beloved Sony Xperia C5 Ultra...
i saw some methods that you can actually calibrate battery without root. It is a long time to do it like you have to charge and decharge it like 3 times. But i forgot how to do it and it was in a Turkish Forum. I remember it said that most of the conpanies adjust battery calibration to %90 rather than %100. So you should give it a try
Actually it is avalible just doenload kingoroot on your Pc or laptop and connect your phonr but afyer you enable usb debug and it eill root you Device
( tested by some other users and ut works!)

Which version you are referring to? As the 29.0.B.1.55 version cannot be root due to vulnerability has been fix by Sony.. But I haven't try the 29.0.B.0.161 version

Excuse me,my English is poor....The problem is this, after I brushed my i9100,I start charging it to 100%,.When unpluging the charger, the battery directly drop to 40%.I download a power correction software , following the instructions to correct.but,it doesn't work.Today I re-brush the Recovery, and wipe the battery information, reboot, it still not work. Oh,it makes me crazy!!!How can i deal with this problem???.....in the process of charging today (probably a total of 6,7 hours), i found it less than 30% charged then jump to 100% at once.the software show the battery voltage is about 19% 3720mv.Is my charger causing this problem? ? ? ?
I've read this problem days ago. Stay steady, don't have to afraid.
You can try to charge your device in switch off state. If it doesn't work, remove your battery for few minute, then put it back. Then try again

I will try it at once!!Thank you very much!!
Hi all,
I recently bought an Xperia Mini pro and it carries the stock firmware 2.3.3, The first few days were fine and I could use till batery reaches 0% or 1% . I recently noticed when the battery reaches 10-12% it shuts down automatically, when I try to power on again, the LED flashes in red color ( indication of 0% battery) and won't turn on. It will turn on only if I connect it to a charger and charge it, the weird thing is the charging starts at where the battery level was before shutting down (10-12%)
Please help me to solve this issue
P.S: I have CWM installed, can I use the "Wipe battery stats" to solve this ? if so how ?

This will not calibrate battery...
@OP
You said you recently bought the phone. If so, just wait. Make sure you charge battery completely and then let it discharge until the phone tells you to recharge it. Keep doing that for a couple of weeks. New batteries can give such problems
I have that problem too. there was no such a problem. My rom is jj,s 3..1 with locked bootloader on my Ray.

i have this always when i change rom, then i have to charge it 100% and discharge to 0% min. 3 times (without interruptions like pluging usb cable just for some file download to pc).
removing battery stats didnt help, only .formatting. the battery.
Hi all,
About a month ago my S3 I9300 started charging slowly, it takes about 5-6 hours to do a full charge. I have since noticed strangely enough it charges at the normal rate (about 1.5 hours) if flight mode is enabled before connecting the charger. This led me to believe there is some kind of excessive battery drain when the cell network is enabled however the phone isn't discharging any faster than normal and the cellular entries in the battery settings aren't showing any abnormal drain levels.
When the problem first started, I was running 'stock' Samsung ROM 4.1.1. I have since rooted and factory reset, and installed ParanoidAndroid 3.55, which hasn't solved the charging problem. I still have to put it into flight mode first to get a charge done at normal rate.
Here's what I've also tried:
- Two different chargers
- Different USB wire
- Tried charging from my PC instead
- Removed the battery from the phone for 5 minutes (as suggested some place)
- Restarting the phone before connecting the charger
Nothing has solved the problem thus far. The battery is showing as 'healthy' and I've always looked after it and always done proper charge cycles - i.e waiting for the level to get down to around about 5 to 10% then doing one single full charge all the way up to 100% - i.e. good standard Li-Ion charge discipline. The phone is about 9 months old. The battery has very good endurance when fully charged, lasting 1 to 2 days as normal. I don't have a reason to believe the battery itself is faulty.
I have searched and read other posts, there have been some charge related problems before, although none I have found relate specifically to this flight mode issue. Does anybody have any ideas what may be causing? Or how I can diagnose the problem in more detail - some recommended battery charging app?
Thanks very much

Thanks. I feared it may be a hardware problem. If it becomes far too much of a nuisance, or gets worse, I'll look into getting a repair done.

Hi there anyone have any ideas been using my Z2 since last Friday and yesterday for some reason the device will not charge to 100 % only goes up to 96%
I have tried a different charger and still get the same problem , Also downloaded Sony pc companion software and run the repair tool to see if it resolves the issue and still same problem
Try discharge battery to 1-2% (some advise even till auto-off device) and then fully charge with bundled charger.
Mine does the same thing, don't worry.
The reason this happens is that once your battery is at 100%, it stops charging automatically, and the device waits for it to get down to 99% before starting to charge again.
Is it possible that you just keep catching it at 99%?
Mine will charge about 1% every four minutes until it hits 99%. Then that last one percent takes a couple of hours. This is according to the power/percent list in gsam. It's done it consistently from day 2. Day 1 it failed to charge beyond 80% overnight.

thanks for your help I will try a full discharge and then try charging it and see how it goes
Finally battery is flat the phone turned off , charging it now with the sony charger which came with the z2 , will let you know what happens
I did a live chat with sony and they say the device is faulty and needs to be repaired
I have rang my network provider and they will send me a new z2
96% charge and wont charge no more!!
would really like to understand what is the solution to the problem.
This is really annoying . Please need all possible inputs.
Do you think its a product issue and needs to be replaced with a new piece.
Mine charges, but...
My Z2 will charge to 100%, but after it gets to 95% the screen turns on, and stays on.
If I push the power button on the phone to turn the screen off, the screen will turn off for between 0.5-1.5 seconds, and then turn itself back on.
I have gone through quite a few settings on my phone and can't find anything that might affect this other than perhaps "Night Mode" - which I have disabled.
Please help, my provider refuses to replace my phone even though I got it brand new from them and it's only 21 days old... I do love the phone, I just hate this issue - I can't leave it charging over night, or run the risk of having the phone over heat (it happened once, this is how I first found out about the problem, I had to leave the phone off with a fan on it for a good hour before it was cool to the touch again.)
@The Midnighter
I think you have a faulty unit, mine (2nd one) doesn't even overheat unless I have severe CPU/GPU intensive apps running. Never had a charging problem either... Get it replaced mate
I always charge the phone power off, when it is full charged I get the vibra notification and the phone is 100%.

I forgot to mention - you reminded me.
When I leave my phone off and plugged in, it will charge to 100% - however I have to do a HARD RESET every time I go to turn my phone back on, after turning it off. (Holding power and volume up) or it sticks on the "SONY" screen and will not advance.
Since xperia S there is a feature which helps battery keeping good condition
Its charge to 100% and turns charging off till 95%
Its all becouse integrated battery
This is not a bug or problem

It is indeed a problem, because the screen is staying on and causing my phone to over heat - it once over heated so badly because of this I had to leave the phone off for a very long time.
The phone doesnt charge at 100% and the magnetic charger not work

I have the exact problem. The phone work ok for a few days and then stop charging at 92% and the screen stay on. I plug the charger in the night and in the morning was only at 92% and hot, very hot.
A few days ago I bought a dock charger and an usb cable to plug in the magnetic lateral charging port. And with both chargers the phone shows the charge icon for a second and desapear for another second and repeat the loop.
I try everything in the software level. Restore the firmware using pccompanion and also flash the lollipop firmaware but the problem persist. Just not tried delete the battery stats because my phone is not rooted yet.

Did u manage to fix the problem? Or did anyone here manage to fix the battery charging issue? Mine charges to 78%, then sometime 85% then hard-reset - 91%. Cant charge anything above that! : <
There's no real fix, you can only hope a rollback to KitKat might help. See this lengthy forum post on the sony forums:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z2/Lollipop-charging-bug/td-p/965384
Spanning from april until right now...
Mine only gets to 70-80% on an overnight charge.
Mine charges and discharges constantly, I try change the cable, the AC adapter, the usb on my computer, the micro usb port to magnetic... Always is the same.. and another times charges too good.
Some times charge to 99% and discharge to 98%.. so I disconnect and connect again and charges to 100%
Maybe it's a Lollipop .232 problem in some devices?
Hi! Same problem here, sometimes my phone doesn't charge to 100% and I have to unplug the charger and plug it in again to get 100%. I think it's pretty common, but if your phone only charges till a low percentages and just doesn't charge further, it might be so that the phone's afflicted with the Lollipop charging bug. We can only wait for Marshmallow then
So I have this annoying problem that my G5 turns itself off when the percent of charge left is somewhere between 15 and 20 percent. I'm not completely sure that it affects amount of time it could operate from the full charge but at least it leads to the following problems:
1) Battery saver is never triggered so losing the ability to use the phone is always abrupt.
2) Battery usage statistics/ time left on battery predictions seem to be totally incorrect.
I've googled and found some ways to calibrate battery without rooting the phone but it seems like they always feature charging the phone while it's turned off and somehow (maybe due to newer android) G5 always turns itself on when connected to charger for me. All the apps for battery calibration seems to do nothing.
So my question is - is there any way to fix this without going to LG tech support/ rooting the phone? May factory reset help in this case perhaps?
Same issue
Very good question and very giid analyse , i have the same problem , i was about to calibrate my batterys but seems to do nothing according to your experience . i m using lg external battery charger , i think using two devices for the battery ( lg charger + phone ) give this problem , i m very confiuesed how to solve this probleme

I second this I got 3 batteries and the cradle 1 never charges to 100% but seems to last longer than the 2 that do charge 100%
I think the cradle and charging throws the calibration way off then think you run 1 batt down till shutdown slap a new one in so the device never gets a charge discharge calibration
