Samsung S6 Edge G925T
After using my Samsung device for some time, it started freezing while I was using it and then rebooted itself. This happened for weeks. Here is the list of steps I took to fix this.
1. I uninstalled all non essential "system apps" . Here is a list.
Amazon
Messenger
Facebook
Com.facebook.system
Com.facebook.appmanager
Instagram
Onedrive
OneNote
2. Then I booted into safemode. Doing this will reset app positions on both your home screen and app drawer. That seems to clean the app caches of all apps.
3. I opened Smart Manager and selected 'clean all' and closed all apps using RAM that are non essential. Smart Manager is a pre-installed system apps that all Samsung S6 models should have.
4. I restarted my phone. You can shut it down and manually restart it yourself. My problem was fixed but there are known instances where apps disappear from both the home screen and appdrawer. Rearranged icons in the home screen are normal. To fix the missing apps in the app drawer, follow this .
These steps are how I fixed my problem and I hope it works for you. I discovered that just booting into safe mode worked after searching the Internet and overhearing that you can use safe mode to uninstall apps without doing a factory reset. I noticed that all I had to do was boot into safemode and do the selected steps as I know no app I installed was unstable or in conflict with another.

Hello,
I have a problem with my samsung galaxy s2 GT-I9100
running android 2.3.5 stock version.
I'm normal user who used the phone for basic function like making phone calls and using the google, facebook apps with some installed apps from the play store.
Today, 2 hours ago logsprovider initiated out of nowhere an endless loop of "force close" alerts, between them most of the running apps were closed too (including some weird z7... app).
Because of the interval (about half a second) between alerts I can goto setting -> apps -> and "clear data" in the logsprovider config.
this stops the "force close" alerts loop untill the next restart of the phone. in this state I basically don't have access to the phone features and all the home screens are empty, including the phone's apps menu.
I can run any app by adding it to the home screen and then executing it, if the app has system operation like the play store that require it to install something, the app will crash and no new programs will install.
I can also connect the phone to a computer and get access to all the files (I think it's just those on storage), I might try to get an apk of an antivirus there and try to install it - hope it doesn't crash
These are desprate times... thats why I'm contacting the experts,
1. Can I fix this, this might have been caused by an app, what to do?
2. If the only solution is factory reset how do I backup the data, apps, or contact lists?
Hi all gurus, need your helps.
I have just upgraded to 4.1.1 via Kies, XXDLJ1, on I9300.
Whenever I go to Applications Manager, it will has that error or auto exit.
1. I have tried wipe, it is fine, no more issue.
2. I restored all apps from titanium, it comes back
3. I uninstall apps by batch, it turns ok after some number of apps uninstalled. it is not related to particular apps but apps count matter as i tried install n uninstall a different batch of apps, same observation.
4. It always error or exit after i am in the application manager for a few seconds, it seem failed to get apps size successfully counted.
5. I have about 200 apps
Pls help, very frustrated and i tried google for long time but no obvious solution
any tips please?
Same thing with me on Samsung GT-I9300 with Android 4.1.1
I came across this problem 2 times.
The first time it happened when I installed a game "Waking Mars". The game was working fine, I played for around 20 minutes and then wanted to check free storage left after installing. But when I opened Application manager swiping was very laggy and after a few (5-10) secs it crashed with "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" error or just closed. At that time I didn't know that it was because of "Waking Mars" and started to delete unnecessery applications I installed that day and yesterday, but problem vanished only after uninstalling "Waking Mars". Also, while this app was installed, phone's screen was glitchy and became bleached (the glitch disappeared after rebooting), like when "Natural" screen mode is activated, but it wasn't. When I had tried to install the game again, the problem came back.
The second time it was because of "Galaxy On Fire 2" installed. Same problems appeared: crashing Application manager and glitchy screen.
So I'm pretty sure the problem is because of some exact application, not because of the number of apps installed.
Both games contained their data in ".apk" file, but another Waking Mars version with separate data (cache) caused the same problem too.
By the way, funny thing is that both games are about space
P.S.: Sorry for my English, it isn't my native language.
hi casper1, did you solve the problem? how? same problem here and still persisting, after many many attempts
After having issues after updating gear s and gear mgr using my tmobile note 4 I decided to share my fix which have been so far the solution. Problems that I encountered were : . Apps would no longer install via gear manager giving radom error codes like -122 try later, wo:wo2, no connection retry. Gear s would not auto reconnect to bluetooth after entering remote connection, and a series of random glitches.
My fix worked after doing these EXACT steps. Power off gear s and then hold power button till you see words rebooting then press home button repeadily till you see small menu and click home button to recovery and long press home. Device will now factory reset with new update configuration applied. Do not do this in the gear s os but as described above. NEXT go to gear manager in mobile device and select gear apps and then click purchased apps. Click the all button and then hit the delete icon and check ALL apps and remove, this is very important. Finally uninstall gear manager in app drawer . Next go into android settings on mobile and go to accounts and select Samsung and click the sync menu, in 3 dot menu select remove account.
Next this is very important, go to app manager and find Samsung Galaxy apps store in the all tab and clear data then uninstall the updates tab to basic stock. Next find Samsung apps purchase apk in all and delete data and unistall. OK now pull battery for 10 sec. If you have a stock based custom rom enter the custom recovery (twrp or what you use) and wipe dalv. and cache 3 times and then go to advanced and click fix permissions. Reboot device and open galaxy apps store and update it. Next turn gear s off then on then go to mobile device Samsung app store and install gear manager and pair gear s again. Gear manager may say installing additional software multiple times but keep opening it if it closes. Proceed to install as usual.
This seems repetitive but I tested it over and over and this will work. I suspect that some of the app data saved in the purchases tab may have been interfering with new gear s os. Idea behind this fix is to completely get rid of all data and cloud data trying to reapply. As this update is in preparation of good Ole lollipop the transition was anything but smooth. Hope this helps those who getting fed up with update issues!!!!
So this is my old phone that my mom is using since January. Before giving it to her I did a factory reset, and it worked fine. Recently since the February security update the phone freezes when typing. It will open random apps, and requires a force restart to stop the freeze. When you go to clear the tasks in the manager and restart the phone, they are all there again open (Facebook, games, camera etc). Her Google maps app was running in the background when the window popped up saying "Process System is responding. Do you want to close it?". Neither button will work, it stays frozen on the screen. A hard restart brought the phone to bootmode. Should I run it in safe mode to see if it's an app or? Was wondering if anyone has had some similar experience.
Stock rom, no root.
Urgent help needed adds are popping up, first shows google logo then random add pops up everywhere haven't installed any new apps like wtf what it making it show up?

Is it by chance Google Assistant or just the Google App? Can you post a screenshot of the advertisement your seeing?
If in doubt try factory data resetting the phone. I would suggest this combined with an antivirus/malware scanner (at the very least the latter if you don't plan on factory resetting the phone). A factory data reset basically resets everything back to default and removes all your apps. Set your phone backup, install some sort of antimalware/antivirus app and then pay particular attention to what apps you install. If the issue happens again take note of what apps you installed last/recently (cuz they might be the cause).
Don't do factory reset, download Malwarebytes eecurity,u will get 1 month free, then choose "use deep scanner during full scan" from the settings,it will detect and kill the malware nd adware
Chack the apps with an "overlay permisson"
Got it fixed had running Malwarebytes and Samsung owns antivirus both got nothing, i cleaned Google cache, reset their app data, removed few apps and its gone thankfully, have no idea where it would come.
The picture attached is "Estonian language" but yeah it would close my apps and show the add when I click show recent apps shows "Google play services" and then it immediately deletes itself.
