* Zipaligned - Efficient RAM usage.
Warning: Factory Reset is recommended before flashing this Rom. If you don't want Fresh Install, then kindly skip the Backup Process.
Backup Process:
Before we proceed, lets perform some backup operations. Its always better to backup existing data so that it can be retrieved after flashing the file.
Backup apps: We need a root file explorer which can copy system and user installed apps. We also need a data backup app which can backup call logs, messages, wifi access points, data of selected apps, system settings etc.
File Explorer: ES File Explorer, Root File Manger, Root Browser, Root Explorer (paid) etc.
Data Backup: GO Backup & Restore Pro, Helium - App Sync and Backup, Titanium Backup * Root (paid) etc.
I used Root Explorer and Titanium Backup. Download using Play Store.
Backup Steps:
1) Install desired File Explorer and Data Backup app.
2) Move audio, video, pictures, files etc from "internal memory" to "external memory card".
3) Backup messages/database of apps like whatsapp, line etc and move their content to "external memory card".
4) Open installed file explorer app, select all apps located at /data/app/ and copy them to "external memory card".
5) Open installed data backup app, backup desired data like bookmarks, messages, call log, wifi access points, games data etc to "external memory card".
6) Last but not least, make a backup of "EFS/IMEI" using Partitions Backup and Restore if you have not made a backup before. Launch Partitions Backup app and click on settings icon, select External SdCard, click on back button. Select EFS, MODEM and MODEM2 (which are yellow colored) and click on down most button of right side. It will backup your EFS and related partitions to your external memory card. You can use this backup to restore EFS partition if you encounter any EFS/IMEI related problems in future.
Considering we have backed up all the required data, we move to the next step. If we have missed any required backup, please let us know in the comments section.

Installing/Flashing Rom Steps:
1) Download the attached file and copy it to your "external memory card".
2) Make sure you have CWM Recovery or TWRP installed.
3) Power off your mobile, wait for a minute, press Power button for 2 seconds and then simultaneously press and hold Volume UP + Home buttons at the same time.
4) When you see a read exclamation mark on top left corner, release the power button and keep holding other buttons. Your device will now enter into CWM/TWRP Recovery mode.
5) Use power button to select and volume buttons to navigate in CWM Recovery. Touch in TWRP Recovery.
6) Only for Fresh Install: Follow: wipe data/factory reset -> Yes.
7) Follow: install zip -> choose zip from external sdcard -> select the rom zip file -> Yes.
8) Thats it, watch Modified Stock Rom getting installed. When finished installing, ++Go Back++, reboot system now.
Don't forget to restore all the backup data from external memory once you setup the mobile after flashing the Rom.
Please hit thanks if you liked the work.

Some days ago, i want to move app folder in phone memory/data/ to my sdcard, i think that folder is not use so i move with root explorer, mount r/w to my sdcard, suddenly all my application was gone , android market and application installer were gone to
then I use android commander from my pc to install again the root explorer then move back the app folder then restart my phone after i restart my phone, my application not comeback except android market and application installer
My phone is xperia x10 mini pro, can you help me please, any help would be appriciate, sorry for my bad english
GOD BLESS US
when you move them back you need to set permissions.
the easy way is to go in xrec or CWM rec and select fix permissions i think is in advanced.
if this didnt work just install your rom again no need to factory reset just wipe dalvik and partition cache
@Eyama
Thank you, can you explain more detail, because i'm new in android, the application that missing also missing in phone menu, can xrec fix this ?
Thank you
GOD BLESS US
I see that you use Xrecovery.
so go in Xrecovery then go to advanced an select fix permissions (this wil give the right permissions to apps).reboot phone and see if you have al app back (you need them in system/app)
If this still didn't work
Go to Xrecovery and install custom rom again (that one you allready have and wipe dalvik cache and partition cache you have those options in Xrecovery) with selecting install custom zip (have that rom on your SD card) and you will get all apps back and working.
@Eyema
what you mean "(you need them in system/app)" ?
Thank You
GOD BLESS US
Oouuu sory i miss that you lost apps that were downloaded from market and hey are stored in data/app. am i correct?
so you have them back in there
then with root explorer go to that place data/app and press mount r/w
then press and hold on app and then select permissions.
change permissions to
x..x
x
x
do this to all app and then reboot
@Eyema
Yup, youre correct, application from market
Oh dear thank you....^_^
I fix permission with xrecovery and it worked for me....^_^
Thank you
Anyway, i use android commander and droid explorer to explore my phone from pc, but why the root access off ? can you help it ? when i googling that because the adb, i'm very confused with the adb, no adb guide can guide me....TT_TT
One more again thank you, thank you....^_^
Thank's GOD
GOD BLESS US
Well im glad that helped
well im not using anny of this so i can't tell you. and i dont't like adb
so the better way is to get right permissions with root explorer
have a nice day
@Eyema
Okay, thank you....^_^
Oh, i almost forget, when i hold menu in my phone, every running history application should has their icon right ? but why the application installer (for example) had no icon when i hold menu button (the icon appear green with android logo), can you help this ? and how to copy whole phone memory to pc or sd card, or maybe access whole phone memory from pc with root access to ? I use root explorer but not all from phone memory coppied
Thank You
GOD BLESS US
looks like the app doesn't have icon set for this i realy don't know. i think you cant copy the whole phone memory.
i never tried yet to copy from pc to phone memory i always copy from SD card or on it and with root explorer for permissions i think this is the safest way.
@Eyama
Okay, no problem thank you....^_^
this application has the icon set because before my trouble all application missing, when i press the menu button it has icon....^_^
Eyama, can you teach me about rom ? maybe i think i want to change my stock rom, what is freaking fast rom ? and my data and application will be lost if i use another rom ? if yes how to fix it? can you help me to copy/ backup my game save game, widget, and application master (apk) to sdcard or pc ?
Sorry i'm to many ask, thank you
GOD BLESS US
well then try to reinstall it
If you have Mini Pro than you can use this(only for mini pro not for mini)
the freaking fast rom is FroyoComb maded by D4.
yes you lose all data, applications, sms, mms, contacts
you can make backup for data, apps and save game with titanium backup i dont know how is with sms, mms and contact. i save them on pc with my phone explorer.
i you want to install custom rom first you need to see if you have right baseband like this:Baseband Required: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel Required: 2.6.29
you can see it in setting/about phone
then for froyocomb you nedd CWM Recovery not Xrecovery.
i recomended you to try everything with Mini Rom Maneger
it is the simpelest app for installing CWM recovery and downloadig custom rom via phone.
But it is good to have look on XPERIA X10 Mini Pro Android Development thread and you will see how it goes everything
@Eyama
Thank you, where is the best your currently rom or froyocomb ?
With your guide, my basebrand and my kernel same like what you write, ithink i cant back up sms, contact mms via backup and restore application from sony ericsson, what is cwm recovery is it no problem if i have xrecovey in my phone ? what is "freaking fast rom"? And how to insert profile picture and avatar in my xda profile ?
Thank you for your advice and guide, sorry for ask to many question....^_^
GOD BLESS US
click in my signature on name of rom
FroyoComb v1.5
CyaNoComb v1.1 and
CyaNo(R)Evolution v1.3
Yes u can backup with sony ericsson but you wont be able to restore it in custom rom.
so that's why you need to backup with difrent app.
for data and apps use titanium backup
for sms, mms, contacts use Backup everything you have this app on market for free.
CWM Recovery is improvment of Xrecovery
The easyest way to change from Xrecovery to CWM Recovery is to flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059361
You have 2 options for download in your case download MiniCM v5.0 Final Release | for xRecovery
when you install this rom you will get Cwm recovery with it.
for fraking fast rom i just wrote that beacuse this rom is realy fast in every thing (FroyoComb v 1.5)
For profile picture and avatar you all have in USER CP if something u don't know how to you have a guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=263
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041206
@Eyama
Thank you, how about using mini rom manager like you said ?
With xrecovery in my phone, can i use mini rom manager like you said ? and how to use cwm recovery ?
Thank you
GOD BLESS US
well mini rom maneger is te app that you can download custom roms from xda
than you can install CWM recovery just by pressing button.
yes you can use rom maneger with xrecovery.
cwm recovery is basically just like xrecovery but is a litle bit improved and better.
@Eyama
Thank you, Are there any way to install cwm recovery like use apk ?
So to use cwm recovery must reboot phone and press back button like xrecovery ?
GOD BLESS US
yes there is download this rom MiniCM v5.0 Final Release | for xRecovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1059361
an put it on sd card leave it in .zip (do not unzip it or raname it)
when you are in xrecovery
select Full Wipe (factory reset)
then in advanced select wipe dalivk cache and battery stats
than select install custom zip
select chose custom zip from sd card and navigate to .zip
select the zip and wait to finish installation.
when is finished reboot phone
first boot will take a litle bit long so dont be afraid
after this you will have custom rom and CWM recovery.
Yes to use CWM recovery is the same way like xrecovery rebot and pressing back button or with custom rom you have an option to reboot into cwm rec. press and hold off button and then press reboot and chose recovery
@Eyama
Okay, thank you
If i want to use froyocomb ? so to do it ? mini rom manager will download dwm but it take charges....TT_TT any other way ?And how to backup widget ?
GOD BLESS US
well install this rom as i told you an you will get with cusom rom cwm recovery.
if you dint like MiniCM v5 rom you can download Froyocom v1.5 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1085607
and install it like you install in xrec
but alway when you are changing roms backup everything an than in cwm rec factory reset(ful wipe) then wipe dalvik cache and wipe partition cache
you cant backup widgets only you can backup app witch have widgets

Try Home+Vol Down+Power to enter into Recovery>Install GApps.
no need to flash the entire gapps on your case
download the latest google play apk in the themes and apps section of optimus one
search ES file manager/explorer (forgot exact name) apk on google from your pc (legit because the app itself is free)
now move the two apks to ur phone with usb
DONT INSTALL GOOGLE PLAY
install es file manager
open root mode something like that and grant the app root permission
now copy and paste ur google play apk to /system/app
AND LONG PRESS IT, CHANGE PERMISSIONS to rw-r--r-- (as same as all other system apps in the same folder)
save permissions
reboot ur phone at this point
bam!! google play is now back there in ur app drawer
becareful next time and do backups before touching red buttons in TB next time, mate

2. For getting me introduced to ES file explorer. Ive been diving into its utilities since then.
Update: For anyone trying out this solution, you shall find the option to give root permission to ES under ES settings, also make /system as mount to write.

1.playstore apk 3.5.19 i've moved it in system/app with ES File Explorer Manager
2.permissions change to rw -r -r
3.reboot
result nothing
i have Android 2.3.3 stock.
yes, the Optimus is rooted.
i didnt install Recovery.
my problems have started when i've changed the microsd card with a bigger one. i've made a copy of previous card but some native Android apps like playstore, maps, navigation just simply disappear but somehow maps and navi are back now.
later edit
until your answer i will prepare a backup if i will need to restore (factory reset).

Why can't you just do this?
1. Download Gapps from goo.im/gapps/.
2. Put the .zip on your SD Card.
3. Boot into recovery and clear your cache and Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the Gapps .zip and reboot.
And you're done.

Do you use link2sd or app2sd?? There is no other reason your system apps will disappear because
of changing card. First you check the permissions again.
If they are all ok and still doesnt work.. then download any gb gapps.. unzip it in your pc.
You will find two files.. MarketUpdater.apk and Vending.apk.. place it in same folder system/
app. Same permissions for both.. not sure if this works on Stock gb.
And we dont know what all files you are missing.
ok.thanks a lot now its all back.
thanks guys
Hi
Is does anyone know of a flashable zip i can use through recovery that will backup all downloaded apps in /data/app and the application data that goes with the applications
Thanks in advanced
Titanium Backup has this option and there is a new App that seems promising
xdaid said:

Atm App2zip does not work for all the devices, it's still experimental and not widely tested, so first of all, especially before backing-up something important, make some test to see whether it works for you (e.g. open App2zip and put in the flashable zip some apps you don't really care, uninstall them and then restore the zip via CWM recovery).
---------------------------------------------------
App2zip allows to backup applications directly to a zip file flashable via CUSTOM recovery, you can build your own update.zip on the fly, no need for PC.
ROOT REQUIRED!
Building your flashable zip is easy:
1) Choose the apps to be included in the zip file
2) Click GO! and wait until the zip is done. That's it!
Even system apps can be included in the zip file but make sure they don't have dependencies and they don't share data with other system apps (otherwise they won't be restored properly).
Restore via stock recovery is not supported yet.
Special thanks to:
michaelg117 (for the idea), Fnorder (signapk script), people in "flashable app backup" thread.
Google Play Link
Feel free to use this thread for any comment or report, if the app does not work for you please tell which device and ROM you're on. Thank you!

Thanks for the quick replies I am currently using backup pro to do this but I was wondering if there was a script of a zip that could pull them in recovery to the sdcard and one to push I can create a zip to do this but it means entering every app data location manually I was looking for one that would pull the app and then the data based on the apps name I can send you a copy of the zip
But in short it creates the required folders copes every thing in /data/app and the I have to add lines like so e.g.
com.adobe.reader
For it to copy the data as well
Thanks again

That was my intension for this...:victory:
I Hope to make RAZR hacking easier for new people
P.s. I've requested the MODERATORS to make shift this Thread to DEV section or atleast make it a Sticky Post so that people can see
Lets see :fingers-crossed:
Thanks so much
I came from using the HTC Thunderbolt that I had rooted and re-ROMed many times over. I loved not having all the VZW junk apps and a speedier processor than I thought possible. Almost immediately, I realized that I could not use the same programs and processes to make my Maxx mine.
FINALLY, After all the reading i have done over the past week trying to decide whether rooting and flashing my Razr Maxx, your videos made me actually feel comfortable to make the decision and go with BMM. I actually installed it and looked around on it as you were teaching in the video. As I learn more, I'll start trying the ROM you suggested. It's a different concept to me to have the stock system just sitting on my phone while running another ROM completely, but I think I can get used to it :good:
THANK YOU, this thread is very helpful. I agree that it making this thread a sticky for us NewBees, is a great idea!
Thank You

I did a full backup and there was a folder created in ext-sd (clockworkmod). Inside there are 3 folders, backup, blobs, firmware.
I'm ok with backup and firmware (I know what these are).
What about bolbs folder?
It contains a lot of sub-folders, named with numbers.
Thanks in advance.
excelent! is very helpful

its backup files...its required by Recovery to take incremental backup!
you can't delete it No, you can't. Or your back-ups will no longer work.
The blobs are most of the back-up. Storing it this way means you can make incremental back-ups rather than all of them being stand-alone. Certain back-ups will share blobs, saving you space.
It's annoying, and it would be great if you could choose the stand-alone method or the blobs-method. But you can't.
hope that helps!

One last question: I have stored all the backup files in my pc, can I delete them from the phone and then, if needed, place them back again, and restore normally?
Thanks in advance!
