No but it seems there is some sorta of hope.
I don't think so.

As in the topic? I dont understand it. Other smartphones dont require you to have unlocked bootloader to do this. Will it ever be possible to root Moto E with one click like the most smartphones?

Because that would be a security vulnerability?
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader without using a PC. Don't have one available at the moment.

That's the exact same way it was done on previous Moto's. The only difference, is probably a different logo.bin file. I would imagine that unlocking and rooting is probably the same also.
help

As far as I've read looks like we don't even have root let alone a boot loader unlock on the XT1528
and it's not that people haven't been trying.
I originally got a XT1528 back when I was newer to custom ROMs after hearing that the Moto E 2015 had CyanogenMOD
builds, not knowing that Motorola only unlocks non-carrier phones.
Sent it back and got a XT1527 when I realized that wasn't going to happen. >_>
Unless it's changed in the last 2 months since I've looked into it.
No root, no bootloader unlock on XT1528.
Sell 1528 on olx
And buy 1521...
I did same....
Hey I was curious if anyone has tried to get root access like what the LG G3 had with its locked bootloader? I had the LG G3 and had root access and TWRP recovery with a locked bootloader. I forget what that particular process was called, but was wondering why nothing like that has come out for the locked bootloader Moto Z. This phone has been out for a few months now, and I am really surprised that there is not root for the locked Moto Z.

I've been messing around with the dirtycow exploit but still I haven't gotten anything to work. I'm still trying though and I'll letchu know if anything works.
I don't think that's possible with Moto. Their development is pretty strict.
