It was confirmed by those using the international version that LG put the smart screen option back after the omission of it on the G4. I do not have the option on my V10 under any of the settings.

Sucks.. I knew it.
Kind of bummed. One of the main reasons I bought this was on the good faith that it had Smart Screen. After using the phone for the past 6 hours, I won't say its a deal breaker, but its definitely disappointing and I have no clue why LG scrapped it, unless they were sued by Samsung and have no choice.

The only thing that MIGHT be the case is that it is enabled on the international version and not others. The Verizon G4 for some reason had the smart screen app installed but didn't actually work. Never could figure out why.. If someone saying the function was working could post a video or something to confirm.. If it is working maybe we can port it over once we obtain root.. @wolfgart said it was there, maybe he can post a video.
Just decompiled the lge framework res and it allows me to enable it. Same as G4, but without a properly working wise screen apk it won't work. I didn't see the apk in the korean system pull either. Once we have root I'll test this one Ive modded. It should give us the option in settings to use it, but like I said doubt it will work without a new apk built for this device..

Thanks Wolfgart, we all have that setting. The LG G3 under Display's advanced tab had a setting called Smart Screen that made the front facing camera detect your eyes and the screen would never shut off until you looked away. Samsung has a similar feature, maybe the sued LG or something, the G2 and G3 had it, the G4 and V10 do not.

Yeah the feature isn't for unlocking. I'll give you an example if you don't mind. Set your phone screen to time out after 30 seconds. Then don't touch the screen or do anything for that 30 seconds and see if the phone turns off. With Smart screen, if you just stare at the phone you can set the screen timeout for 30 seconds and it will never shut off until you look away and in 30 seconds it shuts off.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I actually did not see it in the ATT version either. I know sometimes they omit it from different carriers but yet to see it on any US version....Its a useful feature for reading!

I tried everything to get this working on the G4 with no luck. I always got error requested preview size 960x720 not supported in my logcat. It could be something to do with them going to 64bit. There is no lib for the wise screen in 64bit, but the camera libs and media libs are 64bit. I don't think they got sued over it, I just think they can't get it to work on 64bit yet or the changes they made to the cameras don't allow the size needed. It's the only explanation I can think of.
Tried it on the V10 and got same results.. No go unless someone smarter can figure it out.
Guess I'll have to try Screebl pro

Thanks for this. I actually used this to show a Verizon employee the dead pixel my brand new Galaxy S3 had. We used the touchscreen test mode to circle the area with the dead pixel. It showed up nicely on the white background.
I'm still unclear on what the light sensor is testing.I do get a reaction. It flashes black/blue, zero/one.....but what is it doing and how do I test the light sensor here?

Did they replace it? I was under the impression they don't warrantee against dead pixels, which would infuriate me.
The proximity sensor on this phone has much better range than my old phone. In good light, with a piece of white paper, the prox sensor would consistently get tripped at 9cm (3 1/2 inches)!, which is almost double my old phone's.

You have to put your finger directly on the light sensor (directly to the left of the front cam) for it binary flip from 1 to 0. It doesn't show gradually reduced sensor values as you approach.

The initial floor employee would not acknowledge the problem. He kept saying "oh they won't see it and I'll get fired, etc". I remained calm but continued to press him about it, but he wouldn't budge.
I got frustrated and after arguing with him on a different route (the 14-day exchange period) he even refused to acknowledge that Verizon obliges themselves to a 14-day return. I pressed him more on it before he finally went to talk to a manager, and said "oh right we can do that". I was grudgingly going to pay the $35 restocking fee out of frustration.
Eventually, after he fumbled with the computer system for a good 20 minutes or more, he got the manager to look at the computer. The manager then asked me to see my phone, and I put it into the hardware test mode and showed him the affected area. He made a quick call to another store, as he was wondering if they had any similar problems (he said one person's phone had a damaged back plate out of the box).
After he saw the dead pixel he confirmed that I could swap it out for free. I apologized for making a fuss over a single dead pixel, but he assured me I didn't have to explain myself, and that he would have done the same thing had he paid for a defective device.
So, yes, I did get them to replace it, but only after an hour and a half of waiting, arguing, more waiting, etc.
Thankfully my new Galaxy S3 seems fine.

The wifi icon in the notifications. When wifi is turned off the notification stays on always, to let you know- i guess , that wifi is an option for you to use. Like I didn't already know that the phone has wifi and I can use it when I wish. That wifi icon is basically a permanent short cut to wifi settings. I know seems strange, but Im fine to live with it for a bit. It goes away when you turn on wifi.
that was not nice to plaster that there

That's the thing, I never use WiFi. It's about the only thing that stops me from saying the Dinc 4G is perfect out of the box...in my experience so far. It just clutters up a person's notification panel for absolutely no good reason. I hope VZ themselves take it off, but maybe I'm too optimistic Yea, it's a little thing, but it's an odd move that almost seems like a mistake. I mean, what's the difference with a WiFi widget? I use the BlueTooth widget and Hotspot and Brightness widgets, why not put all those up in there too? We should have the option to disenable it, especially if you own the phone outright...and I'm just speaking on a stock level. But I'm also hopeful that some bright person will find a way and salvage that space back from our panel.

Yeah some of the other newer phones are coming with that as well. Think it's the "new thing" for big red.
Right, in the Galaxy SIII forums they hypothesize that this constant notification is an effort to have users data be on WiFi (and off their 4G network) as much as possible. I've tried playing with SQLite Editor and "wifi_networks_available_notification_on" in the settings storage as posts like this describe, but find the database is locked, and any attempts to change that have bricked my Incredible 4G. So I hope someone else figures this out!

Bricked, as in the phone won't turn on or get past the boot screen. The system files are quite fragile, while I managed to get this setting changed, it wouldn't reboot so that I could see if it worked. But its not my first time at the rodeo, and I had TWRP recovery to get me out of that state, and into a new ROM, which is the only way I think this little nuisance gets removed. Nitsuj17's ROM, for example, has this feature on their To-Do list, but it probably isn't their top priority.

So you weren't bricked then. You can't recover a brick which is why it is called that.
As for the nag, everyone wants to get rid of it so it is being looked in to.

Is there something we can flash to join the No Nag Party? Or will a patch be added for UKB?
ok so i have rooted and unlocked my bootloader. This happened after i rooted the phone before i even unlocked the bootloader. As soon as it was done rooting. it rebooted and started displaying a red border around the screen. it just flashes for a second. it does not always happen but does always happen when i turn the phone to landscape again it goes away. I though maybe unlocking the bootloader and flashing a new rom which i flashed "noctorunal limited editions" rom. hoping that that would fix it. Did not work. I thank went into dev options, turned off usb debug and enable strict mode. Seems to do it a little less but it still does it. Search is not working right now in here, not have i seen anything on google. Anyone have an answer? This is my first lg phone. I have been a htc guy for a long time, but i heard this phone is a powerhouse so decided to give it a try .
on a side note. When i benchmark my processor comes back as 1188 and only desplays my device id, but not lg optimus g. it shows optimus g's but mine shows up as lg-e970 which is what it is but i dont know why it shows that instead of optimus g. just asking out of curiosity while im on here

Don't know the answer to the first one but it shows that so that it can differentiate between many different versions of phones. Like the korean/international and the sprint variant. They have different features and sometimes on other phones like the GS3, they have different processors and ram.

No problem, it is really just saving it, just click on the floppy icon on the top right and it saves the image without the toolbar up top but keeps any markings you drew, you can also crop the image if you click on the up arrow in the center tab and then drag the corners in the new layout.
And last but not least, you can turn off the lg watermark in the bottom corner by pressing menu and then clicking signature off.

My God, I didn't even realize this worked.
To take a screenshot with quickmemo it is both volume buttons... I just assumed quickmemo replaced the stock screenshot function.

Hi I got my Oneplus 2 today, it was purchased from China and imported to India and hence had the color OS, hand to install Oxygen OS as Color OS does not have google on it.
The phone feels heavy, looks great and is quite comfortable to hold
Got my hands of Oxygen OS and just finished installing, one remark on the same unlike other phones where you need to install a custom recovery to file the zip, in Oxygen I could just boot into recovery and install the zip file which is a great thing for the novice users as they will not be required to install custom recovery.
So i installed the OS without any issue took 5 minutes booted up quickly signed up into google and the phone was set up
Observation the phone heated while installing the backup apps which was not heavy use as why installing apps and syncing gmail will send more updates on the heating issue as i start using the phone.
I configured the fingerprint scanner though it takes some time to scan the fingerprint however it unlocks pretty quicky though there is an issue reported by one of the earlier reviewers that it stops working after sometime will update on that as I use the phone
Camera has not been tested so will take some night pictures today and upload them.

My impressions after 2 days: nice feel in the hand, better than my s6. Screen looks washed out coming from Samsung amoled. Fingerprint reader is useless. Apart from the lack of a click which makes the button feel weird, it only works half the time and is always slow. The hardware buttons could be more sensitive. Using the Fingerprint reader as a home key is not great, doesn't always register a touch. On screen works fine. UI feels like stock Android. Missing scheduled do not disturb and not much customisation (no battery icon options etc). Bluetooth and wifi are working without any problems. Wouldn't play an HD movie on Google play, seemed to be lagging but later worked fine. Apart from that, seems snappy. No overheating. Withe general usage, battery life seems very good. Very good. Whilst on paper it falls short in every important specification when compared with the s6 (and the absence of wireless charging is a big thing for me, as is NFC) I must say that I love the phone. Reminds me of my HTC HD2! I am a person who buys the latest flagship every 3 months. I have to confess, I succumbed to the hype with this phone and don't regret it! I got the A2001 version from Oppomart. LTE works fine on Telstra in Sydney.
Edit : I should add that the audio through headphones is very good too. And after using for a few days now, battery life is still impressive.

FYI the finger print reader and capacitive buttons are much more responsive in the latest version of hydrogen os. This adds up as all the reviews I have seen are using newer oxygen os firmware are also reporting minimal issues with the finer print reader. We just have to wait for someone to post the latest firmware.
Ugh. Have the money set aside to buy this phone but can't justify the extra cost if it doesn't work on ATT LTE.
Talk about a tease.

Whose teasing? If you look up the 1+2's specs and AT&T's LTE network frequencies, you'll have a clear answer.

It was a joke. It would be like having the money to buy a hooker and hearing that she has herpes.
I have been using it for the four days now and there are no issues with fingerprint reader the issue is how you place the finger on it once you get that right you will not have an issue
Also a cool feature just scan you finger and the phone will automatically come out of standby mode and unlock no need to press power buttom or double tap
Hey guys. Question here.
In this review from (video in Russian language) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvwFkLTG-Cw
they've mentioned that on high volume the speaker is suffering awful croaking, but they are not sure if they got defective device or is at a software issue for example. Can anyone comment how is the speaker of the phone in terms of loundenss and quality? (the one (or two) in the bottom from which the sound of ringtone comes out.
Thanks in advance

I have had the phone for a few weeks, since the 4th of August. I can tell you that there definitely is an issue. Reviewers have also pointed towards this fact. In some instance the finger print reader refuses to unlock the phone. Using a pin or pattern unlocks the phone. Unlocking after that works again. Some reviewers have also commented that the fingerprint reader stops working till you reboot. I have used the latest version of HydrogenOS, and can confirm that the fingerprint reader is more reliable and the initial configuration asks you to scan the edge of you finger in addition to the normal scans.

No problems for me. I have watched a few youtube videos on it. Ringtones and alerts are loud and clear. Sound only comes out the right speaker holes. One thing that is annoying is the equaliser software. If you turn it off the sound from the speaker is completely flat and very quiet. If you turn it on the sound is too loud at low volumes, but quality is much improved. You can play with the equaliser settings to improve this and strike a balance, but I would imagine the defaults will be fixed in future OTA updates.
I have not used Hydrogen OS uninstalled it as soon as I got my phone however i can confirm there is no such issue in Oxygen OS yes i did scan my finger print in Hydrogen OS when I got it and it has a very different UI to that of Oxygen I guess Oxygen uses Google API and UI's however Hydrogen has a custom built UI dont know what is in the backend
And in that i think lies the issue

My initial impressions of the Oneplus 2
It's Here!
Finally, I have it. The Oneplus 2 was delivered to me on Friday (didn't actually got my hands on it until Sunday).
Bought the device officially from Oneplus on wednesday and they shipped it on Thursday so that was fast! And thanks to DHL of course for the speedy delivery.
I have now used the device for a day and here are my few impressions of it. I will do a larger review later on.
What's in the box
The box is very nice (picture at the end). In the box you find:
The phone (it has a screenprotector installed at the factory)
Power Brick
USB-C cable (the power brick/USB end is also reversible)
Basic use guide etc
So again no headphones. Many have questioned why, but you have to remember the price point of the device and providing headphones would increase the price and knowing Onelus, they don't want to provide some ****ty "samsung like" headphones just because headphones
Build quality and feel
The device feels superb on hand when first lifted from the box. The phone feels really sturdy thanks to the metal edges (like in Galaxy S6 and other premium phones). The device is heavier than it's predecessor.
Build quality is not a problem on this phone. The new StyleSwap covers are now easy to take off and install (pretty much the same as for example on Note series backplates) and there is a hole in the bottom for easy uninstall. I bought the Kevlar and Black Apricot StyleSwaps with the phone and the hard part is to decide which one to use. I am starting to like the Black Apricot one better.
Software
So no more Cyanogen but is this a bad thing? Hard to say really at the moment, also my opinion might be little biased as I pretty much hate anything coming from CM.
So as said the phone comes with Oneplus inhouse ROM called OxygenOS which has now a matured to 2.0 stage.
As I have had the phone just a under 24hours I won't be saying much of the OxygenOS yet, but I have to say that at this stage I would expect more. The ROM is pretty basic vanilla Android with few tweaks like Dual Sim support (more on this little later) and a Dark UI mode etc.
Coming from a custom rom / CyanogenOS world this a step backwards if you like customization features. Oneplus has said that there will be an OTA update soon to bringing more stuff and fixes, so we will see.
Haven't found any big bugs yet but the camera app is also pretty basic and doesn't have lot of options. But I haven't used the camera much so I won't judge it yet
Snapdragon 810 - hot or not
I tested the "boiling/overheating" with a little gaming session (nothing fancy or really heavy) with few small games (i don't usually play games on my phone).
The phone heats from the topside but for me it's nothing to get worried about. I have seen samekind of heating with the S6 and other phones. But I will need to test longer and heavier games.
I haven't run any benchmarks and don't think I even will as they don't show the "real world usage".
Unique features
Oneplus 2 comes with few unique features that are not very common in flagship phones. I will go through few of them here.
Dual sim
Oneplus 2 supports Dual Sim configuration which is pretty big thing nowadays. Ok, it's a feature that many propably won't need all the time but it actually is a great feature. I haven't had a dual sim phone before so I was pretty eager to see if it would have any value to me.
The phone uses Dual Sim Dual Standby mode (DSDS) and you can configure which sim is used for different tasks (mobile data, texts and phone calls). Text and phone call options can be configured so that the phone asks which sim will be used when you make a call or send a text.
I have configured that texts and calls are from the SIM1 (my main sim) and mobile data comes from SIM2 as my main sim has a sloooow mobile data so i will use my unlimeted 4G data sim for the mobile data.
As I mentioned the dual standby mode that the phone uses means that if my SIM2 is using mobile data and I get a call to the SIM1 number the mobile data connection will be disconnected until i disconnect the call / reject it. Both sims can receive call but when there is a call coming to either on the other one will be "dead". So if you are on phone call thrue your SIM1 and someone tries to call you to SIM2 number he will get a message that the number can't be reached / call will be transferred to voicemail.
I think I am going to enjoy this feature as it gives me more room and will be good when travelling.
Fingerprint reader
Yes, Oneplus 2 has a fingerprint reader. Oneplus #hyped the feature a lot and even said that it will be better and faster than the one on the iPhone.
Well, I have to be honest here. It's not. The reader is pretty good reading the fingerprint but it isn't as good or fast than the counterpart. Few times the phone hasn't recognized my fingers at all and sometimes the home button (reader is integrated to the capacitive button) just doesn't react to the finger at all.
There is also a setting that allows you top wake the screen and unlock it by just putting your finger to the scanner (like in few Huawei phones etc). This feature also works pretty well but sometimes the phone doesn't wakeup when you put your finger on the scanner.
There should be a OTA coming what should fix these things so let's hope it comes soon.
Conclusion
So the initial impression? Brilliant device with few quirks and pretty basic software. The software part is the part which needs to come better and it should come soon. For me...well let's just say that I will wait for the custom rom developers to bring their magic on this phone.
Oh, almost forgot. THERE IS NO NFC on this phone and there never will be. I don't actually need it and when NFC is actually really really useful here (hint: android pay) we will have the Oneplus 3 or even 4 already.
All in all, at the moment I am really impressed by the phone and hardware, but I want to see lot of improvement on the software side.
Few pictures attached too

The CamPlus Module is specifically meant to be used with the Camera App on the phone. There is a switch on the module that allows quick access to the Camera app. There's a Shutter Button, as well as button for taking videos.
You can charge the phone with the Module installed. The module has it's own battery and I've discovered that the module may charge the phone momentarily. With the Cam Plus Module installed on my G5, with a solid LTE Signal, I can get close to 15 hours of use in a day.

2. When im trying launch recovery with hardware keys it asks if its ok to wipe everything- this is the way to recovery?
3. The fingerpring sensor sometimes not responding at all even when the display turned on.

1) Nope, i'm using Chrome dev and is smooth
2) Yes, lg's stock recovery only performs the hard reset, and it's the same on the other LG devices.
3) No problem with the fingerprint scanner, maybe a faulty device? Try to unlock the screen 4-5 times with the fingerprint and check if it works correctly

If it's so rare then there is no reason to worry about, it could just be a "stability" problem of the "young" software, or it's just you that put your finger in a wrong way, maybe Try to re-add the fingerprint or to add another one and See if things are different

The touch? You mean that if sometimes if you put your finger in the sensor the phone doesn't viber (which means wrong fingerprint) and no led appears? Well, that is sue strange, never happened to me, but still if it's so rare probably there is no need to worry about, if the problem get worse then it could be an hardware issue

Has any experienced mediocre Wi-Fi speeds? On my AT&T G5 I'm getting 18Mbps down and 6Mbps up compared to 48Mbps down and 6Mbps up on my Nexus 6 on a speed test at home. At work I get 110 down and 80 up on my G5, my Nexus 6 will get 240 down and 105 up. It's basically half of what my Nexus 6 will get on average. Anyone know what I need to do? Some weird setting I need to change?
