So I
1. Unlocked the bootloader
2. Installed firmware 32.0.A.6.152 / R11B via Flashtool (using the built-in xperifirm, and CDA: 1298-5497)
3. rooted using the TWRP method,
4. installed xposed framework using XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk & framework xposed-v75-sdk22-arm64.zip
I've discovered my camera doesn't work properly - it launches, then crashes with "Unfortunately Camera has stopped". Strangely, the "AR Effect" app, which uses the camera, it works fine.
Could it have something to do with having xposed framework installed?
Is there way to reinstall just that camera app?
Any tips for the best way to diagnose?
Thanks
OK, I've tried factory reset (didn't work so I had to wipe from within TWRP), reflashed .152, re-rooted, and the camera is still working. Going to install all the same apps over the weekend, and test again before assuming something in xposed didn't play nicely
Same problem here but I use Google camera from Google play, and it's working very well
Same here. May we should wait for a modded camera.
I have found this bug is because of flashing the Xposed framework zip file via recovery. Uninstalling the zip via recovery using xposed-uninstaller-20151217-arm64.zip fixes the problem and you get the camera back but at the cost of losing Xposed and vice versa. Anyone got a working zip?
I was using E5823 Android 5.1.1 32.0.A.6.200 with xposed-v79-sdk22-arm64.zip (sdk23 said Android 6.0 only when flashing?) and Xposedinstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
I've got this problem on the latest Marshmallow firmware for the Z5C. The camera FCs every few minutes when I have it open and even when I'm not moving the phone around. So far it continues even without installing xposed but I'm going to try running the phone completely stock with no root to see if rooting is the issue now. I wonder if there is any solution to this on Marshmallow.
i am also facing the same issue, pls help!!!

So Xposed has been doing me pretty well. Never had a problem until today.
Unfortunately, my most recent backup is right before I installed Xposed, and I've installed lots of apps and things since then, so I really dont wanna restore.
I installed the Xposed module, "Xposed Wallpaper" and it has rendered my phone useless. I was finally able to get into recovery and now I would like to remove the module. Is there a way to do this?

Hi guys I'm new here just bought this awesome device.
Right now I'm on the latest firmware with root and for some reason the remote play app keeps giving me.
"error: 88001003"
I rooted it on fw. 314 and installed a pre rooted flashable zip of the latest firmware.
I tried a few things like rootcloaker and it doesn't seem to work. I tried uninstalling superuser but also no luck.
So my question is....
Is it possible to get Remote Play working on rooted z2 tablet with the latest firmware?
Edit: FIXED!!!!
I just had to go into superuser setting and uninstall it from there. Then Rebooted and its working
I have my SGP612 (Wi-Fi only model 32gb version) and I had prerooted 6.0.1 but lack of access to custom recovery. Then I tried installing the custom recovery with the latest XZDualrecovery software and that ruined my tablet to go into bootloop. So the next solution was to try out in reverting back to Kitkat (or whatever software available I could grab here on XDA).
I also tried the Xperia Companion app to repair software, but that pushed it to upgrade to the latest Marshmallow version with no root or anything! Even now I reverted back to 23.4.A.0.546 (pretty sure this is Lollipop), I have all these service errors and it would go back to force restarting itself.
What to do?

You try FLASHTOOL?? And you go everywhere kitkat, lolipop ... with no root.
I do it from 6.01 to 4.4 now (until google fix the usb storage issue).

Although I didn't explicitly said it on my first post, that's how I'm trying to go back to older software. I will successfully flash, but i will have lots of processes crashing and errors, which then it will do a forced restart and repeat. Processes crashing such as com.Android.phone and etc.

From @Spectre51 in the FTF collection thread:
US Retail - SGP612
23.4.A.0.546
1291-4653_R4C
Shall I attempt to bootloader unlock instead to be able to revert back to Kitkat, kingroot to install XZDualrecovery, then flash prerooted Marshmallow correctly?
Bump
When you used the flashtool, did you check the possibility to wipe data and the other two options? Can't say what they are at the moment, but you need a clean install.
Sent from my 401SO using XDA Free mobile app
the problem you are describing is happening if you dont check wipe data - always wipe data when downgrading or you get crashing processes
it seems snap chat has now blocked access to root users from the two latest updates.
I'm on Alex Rom - was on carHD Rom snap chat dont work.
only way I fixed the issue- stock - dirty flash and keep logged in but when you have issues with kernel and change kernel or any rom it wont work again and have to do a clean install.
suhide dont work - cloak app dont work. Xposed dont work any more.
anyone have any ideas where we can look on the snap chat app and bypass this root issue.
What i did (i'm on CarHDRom) is un-root. And it logs right in without problem. Maybe when i need root, i'll redo it and see if it's still working.

yea flash stock rom and root your stock rom . then use tatinium backup and back up snapchat with data and then flash your custom rom that you like and then recover snapchat with data on your custom rom. Snapchat is not working on custom rom because of the xposed firmware its not because the kernel

they all use it fam! that why you see all that beautiful animation, xposed firmware all the way. My way is better try it out. no bug no problem
Alternatively if you have a second device, what I did to get it to work was,
Logged in snapchat on second device, rooted and installed titanium backup. Made backup of app + data, transferred to my primary phone (note 4) and restored with TB. My note is rooted with emotionOS 7.1.1 ROM. Works perfect.
Another note, having a permissive kernel can also block it from working even without root.

Just SuperSU. What i did is unroot with SuperSU, then i logged in Snapchat without a problem and after that a dirty flash of the CarHD Rom to re gain root. Worked out perfectly
Hi
so I bought a new Moto Z because I wanna use Xposed. Had already another one, updated to Nougat unfortunately. So I bought a new one.
Unlocked bootloader, flashed Recovery, flashed TurboZ Kernel, (all after this guide) tried to root it. There is the problem.
Once I flashed SuperSU.zip and booted, opened SuperSU everything is fine. But when I open an app which requires root access, the grant access dialog opens, I grant access, but then the app freezes or doesnt recieve the access. I open SuperSU again and now theres a pop up dialog which only says "root undeteced" and a link to "How to root" on the SuperSU Homepage.
I tried with 2.82, 2.81, 2.79 (which has another dialog coming up saying "there is no super su data installed and super su cant install it) with the same link). Tried with 2.46, doesnt even install it via recovery flashing. Soooo....I dont know. Xposed is somehow working since I flashed it and modules are working fine but everything else isnt. Which is super weird.
I googled it of course and it seems that there is a problem with newer versions of super su atm where other people have the same issue. But I wanted it to use as my daily driver now and dont want to set it up if root doesnt work properly.
In some thread some guy suggested to install Magisk. Never heard of it. Read a bit about it....didnt quite get it. Is this a root alternative or something?
Can someone please help me. Its pretty annoying.
Thanks a lot already!
Cheers
Had issues with supersu, too. Installing magisk is indeed the way to go, and, yes, it is an alternative root method and more. Flash zip file in twrp, then install magisk manager from play store.
