Confirmed: The benchmark was useless

So I should not care when I Have about 50k points in antutu? I checked several times.

Nice to see another rom, how is the battery life? And is this rom based on CAF or ASOP?

I will test it. Can you confirm the WiFi speed your able to achieve on this rom

does laser autofocus and fingerprint scanner work ?

Always nice to have another developer

And if you're looking into it: Since 18 days no work done. Also "just" built on Graraks source and I don't even see any difference between this ROM and CM12.1 from Grarak. Proof me I'm wrong:

most AOSP based ROMS wont support the fingerprint scanner. im thinking we wont really have that feature available until we start getting in Marshmallow ROMS in since it natively supports fingerprint scanning capabilities.

You can proof your own wrong by flashing it. It has a lot more to offer then CM. Of course they are using grarak's code, everybody does.

Either you have not used this rom or you have not cared to know the features this rom have. This Rom is definetly based on Grarak's base (Most of the roms are based on cm). This rom have a lot of extras. Try it for yourself or google it.
I am using the latest build AICP v10 22nd November 2015. Pretty sweet.
1. Good battery back up
2. WiFi is buggy as i have not got consistent speeds.
3. LF & FP not working
I am in love with this rom. Best rom after CM by Grarak.

Best Jelly Bean Rom?

Hey guys, i want to move on from ICS to JB, I have seen that the flykernel is a pretty good one... Which rom is the best in terms of:
1. Battery life
2. Performance

My phone too. PAC is great but I can't get great battery life from it. Not disastrous life just a lot faster drain than the best ICS builds. Don't think it copes with the widgets i use.

IMO, PAC rom is the best. You get the best support on the thread, with every two weeks (more or less) updates and currently dev is building 4.2 roms. Have a go at it ^^

first of all wrong section to post, there is a general or a q&a section but there is no such thing of best rom, best rom for me will prbably not suit you, and will be worse for you, and saying one is better than other is not ok for developers, try them all and choose the one you like more

Custom ROM without bugs

Hi I'm new to the nexus 10 and I was wondering if anyone knows of a ROM without any major bugs?
I use it for school so I don't really have time to play around is official cm 10.1 as stable as stock? Or is stock the most stable?
Thanks
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
Stock is always the most stable. None the less my n10 with cm10.1 nightlies runs rock solid. No bugs or reboots. Can only suggest you try it.
Gesendet von meinem HTC One X mit Tapatalk 2
I want to second the cm 10.1 opinion. I ran SentinelROM (based on cm 10.1) for a long time and it was almost perfect. I have since switched to the official cm10.1 nightlies because of bluetooth issues on Sentinel and I am happy to say it is working very well.
Moreover I have found cm10.1 ROMs are the only ones giving a smooth UI performance. On my tablet AOSP ROMs always seem a bit jerky and seem to work with a lower framerate. Hard to put a finger on it but it may be the different Mali drivers but that is just a guess.
There are a ton of ROMs with no bugs, although all the major ones have had a few bugs lately in the last couple builds. Now that the issue has been found out, all the major builds should be stable once again.
Rasbean is built from AOSP source the same as the stock ROM
SaberMod is also built from stock source but with a more unique toolchain
AOKP is built off the AOKP source, there are many variants from official all the way to PUB. Mr.Robinson and Apophis are the most popular
Sentinel is one of the more popular CM10.1 builds
I personally have liked RasSaber the best, which is RasBean with the SaberMod toolchain and optimizations. The ROM is no longer available though.

CM10 or Carbon are good bets, but they will never really be as stable as stock. If you don't have time to mess around and you use your device for school regularly, then using a ROM might not be a good option for you at all, truth be told.

10 reboots an hour!?! I might get one a day, this is on stock ROM/ktmanta kernel, rooted and overclocked to 2.1ghz/720mhz. I don't often play games though, mainly browsing and reddit.
CM is in my experience about as buggy as stock or better. It's certainly more stable, at least. I've been getting less reboots since I moved to CM, to the point that I hardly care anymore about the issue.
If you don't care about tablet ui, I recommend sabermod. Pretty fast and stable-

Custom ROMs: Awesome but not so awesome?

I really love testing new ROMs, but I always find myself going back to stock. What drives me crazy is when someone says "This Works Great!!!! But...", and then they list serious feature issues that people use everyday. Wouldn't that mean the ROM doesn't work so great? Maybe it's working for you but 30 other people list problems. I have an xt912 CDMA and I have yet to install a ROM that doesn't have some form of issues... even final and released builds.
I applaud the programmers and people who spend their free time doing this and making these awesome ROMs, but hopefully some day... there will be no bugs.
What are your thoughts?

I would recommend checking out some builds based on Jelly bean 4.2 or lower. These tend to be much more stable for me. Sadly many of the developers who had done such wonderful work for our device have moved onto newer devices to develop for. Obviously that makes sense for them but it makes it tough to deliver pristine ROMS for us. It's also up to the user. If you can sacrifice a little bit of stability for more customization, custom ROMS are probably for you. If not you may want to stick with your stock ROM and try to google "Xposed Framework" and give that a try. Best of luck!

Yes, I agree completely. The biggest problems are when data or wifi doesn't work that well. Pretty much a deal breaker. Problem for me is, on stock, there's a bug that makes my phone frequently think there is an HDMI plugged in when there's not, so it forces the phone to change orientation. So incredibly annoying. customs roms don't have these problems though. And slimbean worked well for me once, I just hope slimkat gets to be more stable. Right now there is a problem with the wifi, and the battery life is pretty bad. sigh...

If you want a ROM with very few issues, try Aviator Blur 3.0.9. It is 4.1.2 but it has overcocking and is very smooth. It is based off the original stock rom. It has no signal or other major issues. The new CM11 shows promise, but like you said, it still has a few bugs.
Theres always issues
there is always an issue with all roms you cant expect them to fix everything not even stock android is perfect every OS has its faults some more than other thats all.

As you know, recently optipop has been buggy. This is basically a slimmed down ROM that will be more stable and I will have a bit more control over what goes into it.
The idea here is to optimize, retain stability and add only useful features, it seems optipop is now being filled with every feature that exists.

I'll give it a run when the new one is posted, it's always bugged me when features have been added to ROMs simply to have another feature. Often less truly is more. Bizarre how certain ROMs get so bloated and over worked that they become unstable, slow and unreliable yet has everything in the kitchen tossed in for good measure.

Knowing the history about Miui, being a former supporter for Miui, I say "avoid it at all costs".
Take in consideration:
1 - Stable global releases are far from stable apart from a very few devices
2- Weekly releases are far from stable apart from a very few devices
3- Stable means ALL hardware features enabled and no major bugs like FCs, overheat, battery drain, bootloops, etc. Things we don´t get in Huawei but very much present in Xiaomi.
4- If Miui stable is not stable, imagine a port.

Its already available for Honor 6. But for Honor 5X its not. Since EMUI and MIUI are similar, I don't think we need it.
