Guys,
You all know since xiaomi has open sourced kernel sources of cancro we are getting variety ROMs to our devices and most of them are as stable as stocks ROMs from google.
But we are aware of one infamous bug i.e. HDR in camera doesn't work in 270 degree and in portrait mode it overexposes or underexposes.
A lot of devs have tried to fix this issue including Xiaomi's Ivan, but they were not able to fix it. But one of our beloved devs @linuxxxx) has fixed this in cyanogenmod ROM.
I've extracted that binary from cm12.1 Rom and created a flashable zip so that this fix can be used on all other ROMS.
All credit goes to @linuxxxx, kudos to @linuxxxx.
Steps to install -
1. Download attached zip file.
2. Boot into recovery mode(Tested only on TWRP).
3. Flash this zip file.
4. Reboot your phone
5. And finally enjoy your phone with working HDR.

If you know about colorOS camera, its shutter time got broken because of the 2nd commit @linuxxxx included in the yesterday's nightly of cm12.1. You've only included the first commit here, but those who've already updated to the newest nightly can no more use that shutter-time feature of the colorOS camera.
Could you make a flashable zip to undo changes made by that second commit? That second commit basically just makes google camera HDR compatible but removes "expert" plugin capabilities of colorOS camera, which still is the best camera out there in terms of functionalities.

Yeah yeah, yours has only one commit. However, just flashing this one would not undo the second commit done by @linuxxxx in the latest nightly, right?
The latest nightly that I'm (and many others would be) running contains both commits. I was requesting you to make a flashable zip for these users who are on latest nightly, so that flashable zip can undo the changes added with the second commit.
We already have two commits. I am asking for a flashable zip that removes the second one.
UPDATE :
Yeah, just saw both commits are on same file. So, using this zip will revert back second commit's changes. Will test n reply.

@ajitkatte tried flashing each file. Same results. ColorOS camera shutter-time stays broken.
I think you have to remove ZSL commit and just make a zip of the other commit. That will do the job.

I'm so sorry. The ZSL commit breaks the shutter-time feature in colorOS camera. @Riichard63 will be able to specify the problem better here.

There is no difference in these two files, I've removed another file.

If you don't know what is this, don't flash this, If you know what is this, you are supposed to flash this. This is tested and working by me and many others. As always, you and only you are responsible for your device and decisions. Neither me nor anyone else except you will be responsible for bricked device.
This kernel is compiled using cyanogen source and commits and is up-to-date till now. I have not changed anything in it.
It includes all the libs needed for stock-based rom to boot.
For changes you can see the commits on github.com.
Custom recovery needed.
Instructions:
1. Download CM_kernel_15-2-15.zip or Dev-Host mirror
2. Place it in internal/external sd.
3. Reboot to recovery and choose install from internal/external sd.
4. Select CM_kernel_15-2-15.zip.
5. Reboot.
Changes you may see after flashing this will be in camera, touch, proximity and over all performance.
Please report if you find anything good or usual.
Till now noticed bugs fixed (as reported by users):
1. Battery charging stuck on 99%.
2. Better touch respponce

Completely stock. Nothing is changed.
Camera libs are changed, battery thermal cut off changed, rest I didn't cared to see.

I am not responsible for exploding devices!! Nothing should go wrong, as this doesn't touch anything super-sensitive, but just in case...
Tested on Pure Nexus w/ Pure Nexus dynamic gapps. This should also work with Open GApps. (And I guess Fake Nexus, though I think the camera works well out-of-the-box on that one...?)
On (most?) current Nexus 5 Nougat ROMs, attempting to take a photo via Google Camera with HDR+ will just take a regular photo. (The included stock camera doesn't even have an HDR+ option!) The "fix" is to downgrade to an older version (2.8) of Google Camera.
Problem is, that's kind of annoying. In addition, the Play Store will keep trying to update it to the newest version unless you re-sign. Not good!
So I made a flashable zip! Just pop it onto your SD card, flash in TWRP, and the proper Google Camera will be installed, signed with a custom key to prevent the Play Store from updating it.
Enjoy!
NOTE: This does not fix the video recording issues, only the HDR+ not working. You still need to use stock camera for videos.

Sorry about that! I just updated the zip file again. I had made a mistake with regards to the way it was signed.
It should work now. If it doesn't, could you hit Copy Log inside the Advanced section of TWRP and then upload

No, it's 2.8. 4.2's HDR+ doesn't work on the Nexus 5 Nougat ROMs.
I uninstalled v4 . then flashed 3.2 and unchecked google camera automatic update from playstore ( right up corner) . why to downgrade to v2.8 if v3.2 also work?

Huh...on my device, 3.2 HDR+ still didn't work.
Also, for me, I already have auto-update off, but I usually just like to click "UPDATE ALL" without the camera updating, too.

ROM issue maybe. Im currently using Fake Nexus ROM and 3.2 HDR worked fine.
This isnt actually a fix, for me GCam 3.2 works on Nougat with HDR+

Ok. I noticed now that video don' t work . green flicker if i look after recording. But hdr works great.
Anyway video have been always crap in our device, so i don´t use it.

Just figured it out. I updated the zip again; it should work perfectly now!
I'm on Nitrogen-os 7.1 and gcam 3.2 workshop fine
First cam uploaded works perfectly on aicp 7.1 rom.
Hdr and video.
Does not work on my Nexus 5 ABCrom_nexus_hammerhead-7.0-20161129.zip
As soon as I enable HDR+, the app force closes.
Could it be a conflict with the already installed camera?

Well in any case, ill probably test his latest build later today. So I'll post my findings
So just finished setting up woivods RR
1. Clean flashed rom and gapps, got bootloop, rebooted to twrp, changed timezone and rebooted. It booted to google wizard. Again rebooted and wiped again everything except system, booted properly
2. Default theme still broken, but if you don't change it your good
3. Kernel looks the same as fedosis so it should be good
This rom has a built-in weather provider so that's nice. Will update in a day or two about battery life
The rom is getting better with every new build. Thank you for it @Krik88

Have you tried the patches at @fedosis 's G-Drive?
If not then try the ' AppsBoot fix' and Video Call fix.

1. Yes it's prerooted, but you can disable it in the developer options, don't know if your email app is going to detect it

So I've tried to fix the default theme by flashing 19/04 build of teamghost then dirty flashing your latest build and the default theme worked properly.!
Buut the weather plugin broke so i had to wipe everything except system and now its broken again

I know, fedosis' rom is the only functional rom... That is just my opinion. Everything works, just the camera has some issues. Haven't found any better... Till now

Does this fix also apply to the LineageOS 13.x Rom? I need the Front facing camera working, and that works under Marshmellow and not Nougat.
Just wanted to thank you for your hard work and dedication on this ROM project and wish you good luck with the camera as well.
Not that I find the camera on the R1 HD all that useful as it takes pretty lame photos, but the lack of camera is basically the only thing keeping me from ditching Blu software altogether.
I really hope you manage to get a 100% operational LineageOS for the R1 HD.
Yesterday I called Amazon and complained about the software that collected our personal information and data and submitted it to Blu headquarters in China. They said that I could return the phone for a full refund so at this point I am seriously contemplating doing that. The only problem is that I don't have a backup phone.
The lack of resources from MTK based processors is such a deal breaker. I was not aware it would be so difficult to get development going for it when I bought my phone last year.
Now I'm contemplating getting an used phone with better development support after I return my R1 HD.
I really wanted to wait until OnePlus released their new device with a better display and hopefully a near bezel less display and at least IP67 water resistance. That's the reason why I didn't go for the OP5. The upside-down screen was also another one.
If you could get the camera working in LOS than I'd hold on to my R1 HD for a a while longer. But I'm not keeping my hopes up... Just being realistic. Haha!

As of now, I've been studying the leaked MTK camera sources for other devices and using IDA to see what extra symbols and logic the stock libcameraservice.so and libcamera_client.so has. It appears that replacing these two libs was the key to fixing camera in cm-13 ports.

Oh, I didn't know camera support was fixed for CM 13 on the R1 HD. Maybe I didn't see it here. But I'd much rather have a non Blu version of Android with all security patches even if it's just on marshmallow.
Three days ago I just realized that Blu had a frigging app collecting my personal data and sending it back to China.
It had sent over 5.9MB of data since July 21st. I think it's a lot of data for text only transmissions.
Anyhow, I've been seeing people using Footej on other ROMs in which they could not get the camera working with stock camera app. Is that what you mean by getting the camera to work?

Dang! That's old! I guess devs should be more organized in doing a walk through with links to the files and recoveries needed to flash their awesome work.

Which version of the ROM is installed on it now? Modified or stock? Which recovery is on the phone? Stock or TWRP?

I ran into some issues last night. Solved all of the issues but i have bootloops with OpenGApps included :/ Need to put more time into that...

I think you can try to enable NikGapps or FlameGapps, maybe this is the problem

I was always an OpenGApps user but seems like they don't put that much effort into it still... Think ill go with BiTGApps. Ill check Your mnetioned ones too. Thx

Thanks! I have actually issues after trying to fix Wifi... Think ill start off with TWRP for now and AOSP after that. So we can flash external GApps (or not if wanted). Only Problem is that we have to use a Recovery inside the Kernel Image on 2019 Xperias. Means i have to choose a Kernel. Since we dont get Updates anymore would i bet on the AOSP Kernel since it is what we want to use anyways... Ill ask out the SODP Devs about some Help with that. Xperias from 2020+ can just grab a Recovery Image without the need to choose a Kernel with it. They also use Dynamic Partitions which is different from our 2019 Xperia A/B Static Partitions...
Lot of work to do but think it will go fast with some help

I'll do a resync with April Security Patch and all Apps removed. I'll make TWRP based on it so we can flash GApps and Magisk stuff...
New Build uploading. No Apps included so consider using Magisk Micro G if You want to use it as daily for now.

PLeeasssse, leave the Gapps optional, as they could be installed afterwards anyway! This leaves the choice to go for MicroG .

I am keeping focus on excluding all the Stock stuff. There will be no Stock Camera or other Stock Apps. But GCam Support and an own Camera App based on the new CameraX stuff are the Goal...
